Sultan Baklava El Cajon

Come here if you're looking for baklava, Turkish delight, or Turkish coffee. I ordered the honey baklava, fig Turkish delight, and a Turkish coffee and everything was so good! I've never had a baklava made with honey, but it's even better than traditional baklava. You can really taste the honey, and it's great quality. They have a very large selection of baklava, Turkish delights, custards, cakes, and even more pastries as well as various coffee and tea drinks.

Rude, unprofessional, liars.We were unaware that Sultan was under new management. With that said. I also have NEVER purchased from them before, but it cake so highly recommend from the communit, so on May 16th 2024 I went in to purchase a cake for a birthday. Inside was okay, clean... quiet... I should have left after the first interaction, however; I thought maybe he's just busy, and that's why he was so short. ( wrong) I proceeded to ask what was in each cake because there were over 7 presented in the glass case. The birthday girl is HIGHLY allergic to bananas. The man pointed to each one and told me what was in them. Pistachio, chocolate, and a few others....i asked specificly about the strawberry and white chocolate cake ( pretty presentation, and had crumbed red velvet cake in top) He said yes, white chocolate, strawberry, and red velvet. I asked, is that all that's in this cake because she can't have banana. He responded in an agitated manner, " No, no, white chocolate and strawberry, it's the same as the small one just bigger. It's 45 for the medium." I said perfect. I'll take it. Then, i went to the counter with the young girl behind the glass and ordered baklava, about 5 pieces and a Turkish delight. ( super moist and suuuuper sweet) ( the almond baklava is yummy). Fast forward, we get to our location, and she is presented with the cake. She cuts into it, a little dry, but we all gave it a try. LOW AND BEHOLD, it had BANANAS!!! Birthday girl had a reaction. ( she is fine now ). I called them the day after all the commotion and told them what happened. The woman Nina was very disrespectful and kept saying it's VERY obvious it has bananas. And EVERYONE knows this. I calmly said, "This was our first time here , I asked specificly if it had banana and was told no. She argued that all the workers know it has bananas and we should have looked!! And that it was our fault, I asked for a replacement and she said she could give me a discount on another cake. This is not an acceptable fix for what happened, especially since the birthday girl had such a terrible experience on her birthday. Especially since it was near 50$ ..The woman who referred me also called, and now both our numbers are blocked and go to voicemail. We called from another number and tried to speak to the owner, and she was HUNG UP ON!! Very unprofessional. We will not be returning. Completely rude, unprofessional inconsiderate, and what's worse, they LIE. Not customer friendly at all. Please be careful if you have any allergies when going here. Never have we experienced this kind of service. They lost 200 customers with us alone.Hopefully more ...

I need to take pictures before I eat! For my diabetic/sugar free lovers, this is your stop for the best baklava! I don't know how they did it but wow, they managed to make it incredibly moist and without any of those aftertastes you get from some sugar free desserts. Seriously, I keep going back every two weeks for my fix! I also tried their borek which was freshly made and a perfect size for lunch. The spinach and feta was perfectly balanced in each bite and the pastry was delicious. Oh, and I recommend getting it warmed up! The location is easy to find, any there is always street parking available. Inside is large and comfortable, with plenty of tables and a steady stream of customers. I need to try their coffee next, everyone had one in hand and it added to the wonderful warm baked smells when I walked in. Definitely a wonderful find and they have found a return customer!

My mom was in the hunt for bomb baklava and I found this spot on yelp. It's in El Cajon, pretty far from me but had to try it. It's a cute park of El Cajon, near the court house. There was soo much street parking available. It was very hot outside but inside was very comfortable. The young lady who helped us was great, very patient answering all our questions. The baklava is simply GORGEOUS AND BOMB. They had an amazing display of desserts, I was in love! My mom and I each enjoyed a slice of cake and coffee and it was phenomenal. The cafe is gorgeous too, very beautifully decorated. I have told several friends about this spot and would have already been back several times if it was closer to me! No doubt whatsoever that I'll be back. Highly recommend.

Really good bakery. The baklava is top notch. The coffee is strong and good. The staff were helpful with recommendations. My only critique is that the prices seem a bit high. Nonetheless, great desserts and coffee.

I went in to try their drinks, which are delicious, but was not expecting to see so many pastry options! I especially loved how there's different kinds of baklava, including sugar free, which is one of my favorites. They're perfectly flaky and not too sweet. The staff is also kind and helpful, they took the time to explain the different kinds of baklava and what they offer. Can't wait to try more baklavas and other pastries!

Found this gem while we were in the area looking for coffee. This place looks really nice once you step inside. They have a beautiful display of many different baklavas. We tried the pistachio latte & the rice pudding latte. Both were delicious. We also got some baklavas, they are pricey as it is by weight. Apparently it's $25/lb, we got 4 pieces, which turned out to be about $13. Even though it was a little pricey, each piece was flakey & flavorful. Overall, I'd come back when I'm craving baklava & Turkish coffee!

Been wanting to try this place for awhile. Got a few different baklava which all tasted delicious. It's priced by weight. I got 7 baklava for about $24. I also got the baklava cheesecake ($12) which tasted amazingg! My friend and I also got a pistachio latte and rose latte which were tasty as well. The interior is so cute ! There was plenty of street parking on a weekday afternoon. Definitely recommend this place for some tasty treats!

I want to try everything on their menu! Seriously everything looks so good that it was so hard to pick one. I love that it's in the heart of downtown and we were able to walk there and not worry about looking for parking.The coffee was really good and the service was excellent.We were able to get one of the last tables as most were taken.It's really nice and well decorated inside and it's not too loud. I loved seeing large group of families enjoying time together over delicious coffee and desserts.I will definitely be back again and again to try the rest of their menu.

We stumbled on this place on accident and we are so glad we did!Their selection of sweet treats is immense and everything we got was absolutely flavorful!Special shout out to the baklava which was my personal favorite.This is also the perfect type of thing to pick up a big box of sweets and take them to a party. You'd be the party champ.Their drinks were just as tasty. Had a pistachio latte and it was very yummy.The service was fast and very friendly!It's a cute little place to stop by for coffee and sweets with a friend.We went during a weekday and found plenty of parking on the street!Will definitely return!
