This spot has been trending in some way shape or form, recommended from a friend, post on a friend's social media, or even Christian Graham's podcast. Here was my experience....finally!AMBIANCE:Parking: Plaza parking. I guess it can depend on the day but I didn't have any issues.Seating: Inside, good for small groups but you can move the tables. Room for maybe 30 people.Vibes: Welcome to Mira Mesa! There's no downtown really just plenty of plazas. The attention grabber for this plaza I'd say is Smack'N Guamanian Grill. It's a simple place with casual yet flashy designs. You'll see pictures and articles of their family and nice photo ops from the logo to the neon sign. I dig the hip hop music in the background. It's a great place for family and friends.FOOD:Smackn Combo (Recommend)What a delight! BBQ chicken, BBQ pork ribs, saibok (eggplant/coconut milk/ lemon), chicken kelaguen, and an empanada. The bbq was delicious, well charred, juicy, and flavorful. The chicken kelaguen was refreshing and tart flavor. The empanada was delicious! It looked different from other empanadas, the filling reminded me like a hotpocket. The saibok was new to be me but it was like a cold refreshing potato salad.Smacksubi (Recommend)Wonderful! Good balance of Spam slice and rice. What's great about this was the red rice.CUSTOMER SERVICE:Scott was dope! Friendly dude that was quick with the service.TL; DR OVERALL:5 Stars! Smackn Amazing! Good selections, reasonable prices, and delicious food. I've been to a few Chamorro spots and this spot is top tier. Best wishes to Christian Graham and the Smackn family. I look forward to coming back to try out more of their goods.TIPS:* Don't forget your Fina'denne (like soy sauce) sauce or hot pepper paste!

Quite a few disappointing aspects of my experience here. First, I was lured to this spot because of the promise of 2 free pork lumpia with a Yelp check-in, however that turned out to be completely false. I still decided to give it a try because I rarely have Guamian food. Not many people were eating inside, but quite a few were getting food to go. I was getting food to go as well, and decided on the BBQ mix, and as promised seems very representative of all the different kinds of BBQ that they have. The beef was solid, juicy and soft and not dry, I just wish that there was more of it. Chicken was also ok, and a lot more of it. Some bits were too burnt for my liking though. The pork on the bone was very dry and very overcooked. Too chewy and tough to get off the bone. Finally, there was rice, mac and shredded fish, and those sides were pretty good. Overall, some aspects were good, and many were not as good. Don't think I'll be coming again anytime soon unfortunately.

Came with a friend and split the BBQ Mix Plate! The menu says it feeds 2 and I think that was an accurate description, since we nearly finished between the two of us! The plate included BBQ beef, chicken, and 2 pork ribs on top of red rice, chicken kelaguen, and cabbage salad. The box was really packed full of food!Overall, we really liked all the meat and it paired well with the red rice. I really enjoyed the BBQ chicken, and the pork rib stood out too! The only complaint is the majority of the food is pretty salty, and the chicken kelaguen didn't help as a salty side. Overall, we had a great time over good food!

Very good food. We got there 15 minutes to closing and were able to squeeze in a few orders to go. People who got there 5 minutes after us weren't as lucky. They do charge 50 cents extra for the chili sauce, so if you like your finadeni spicy, you gotta pay for the heat.

Unscientific research suggests there may be less than 10 Guamanian restaurants in the continental U.S. Smack'n was one of the must-visits of my San Diego trip, and a lengthy bus-and-train excursion from Point Loma was rewarded with a stunning combo piled high with meat.Components of the Smack'n combo include ribs and barbecue chicken, expertly prepared in a way that highlights the meat. Sauce exists but isn't dominant. The absolute must-have at Smack'n is the chicken kelaguen, which I'll imprecisely describe as somewhere between chicken salad and ceviche with hints of North Carolina barbecue. The counter guy was extremely helpful, both in descriptions and in allowing a substitution. In lieu of the eggplant-based saibok, I got the superb gollai hagun suni. The worker described it as "almost a curry" thanks to the turmeric. Coconut milk provides the bass line here while the attention-grabbing guitar solo is from the lemon flavor.

I've probably driven by this place a thousand times and it was always one of those "I'll try it one day," sort of things. Well, friends, "one day" came today.I'm glad it did.Smack'n offers up some top notch grilled Guamanian eats for a reasonable price and they certainly don't skimp on the portions. Yours truly ordered the chebot bbq pork ribs and I was blessed with three huge ribs, a gargantuan scoop of chicken kelaguen, three heaps of red rice and a plop of cabbage salad. A TON of food and great value.Everything was perfectly cooked, well seasoned and came out quickly. Service was friendly and we had no problem finding parking, even in a sort of cluttered shopping center on Miramar Road. Sorry I waited to so long to try it but I won't wait long to return.

Hafa Adai. Been wanting to try this place out for awhile now. I lived on Guam and missed the Chamorro food. I ordered the Fan Fave which is two scoops of Chicken Kelaguin, two scoops of red rice and a cabbage salad. I remember it being more flavorful with more lemon flavor and I didn't notice any coconut or onions. The red rice was a little on the bland side. My girlfriend got the BBQ Chicken Bowl which was very good. I liked her dish a lot better than mine. Our total for the two entrees and two drinks came out to $35

Make sure to check-in here on Yelp for 2 free pork lumpias! I thought the food here was delicious and filling, though the price was a bit more on the expensive side. That being said, the BBQ chicken was super tender and was perfect with the red rice.
