Came here for lunch on a whim with hubby while we explored Carlsbad village. Noticed the place was pretty full for lunchtime on a Tuesday, so we took that as a sign that it must be good. This place has seating mostly covered outdoors with some tables inside. Luckily, it was a mostly sunny and mild day.We started with the roasted tomato and pesto burrata, which was very flavorful. I absolutely loved my tarragon chicken salad - I found myself trying to find out what ingredients they used in hopes of recreating it at home. My husband enjoyed his burger with his Mai tai and appreciated the fact that they have cholula hot sauce.The only issue we had was the timing of the courses. We had just started on our appetizer when our main dishes came out. Now, usually I wouldn't have a problem with this as I would rather have my plate brought out fresh and hot instead of sitting under a heating lamp. But we couldn't get over the fact that we had touched dug into our appetizer and our dishes were already out.The minor snafu probably won't deter us from coming back - I'm intrigued to see if breakfast is just as good.

The food was good! The cornmeal pancakes were wonderful and the bacon was crispy. The wait was too long (1 hr 25 mins for 2 at 10am on a Sunday), but we aren't locals and we weren't prepared to hunt down another option. The staff were friendly but service felt a bit slow - perhaps it was a bit too busy. It's incredibly loud between the music and the amount of people, despite being mostly outdoors and it felt like there was a table in every nook and cranny. Overall, I'd return on a less busy day, but I probably won't go out of my way to return.

Busy restaurant on State Street. Indoor and outdoor seating. Waitress was attentive and nice.Baked goods in display case looked yummy.Had the chicken pesto burrata sandwhich with side salad. Side salad was good and the dressing was delish.Chicken is freshly char-grilled which gave it good flavor. Bread was also good. The only miss, in my humble opinion, was that he needs more pesto sauce. The bread soaked it up and the flavor was lacking. Would try here again.

Greeted with a friendly smile, our party of 4 arrived at 8:30am and were seated right away (yay!). The weather was perfect, so we were seated outside on the patio. Their menu had quite a selection, and everything sounded wonderful! Our server, Brittney, was great and took our order right away. Order up:1. Maple Brûléed Irish Steel Cut Oats2. Angus Short Rib & Hash Brown Potato Pancakes (x2)3. Norwegian Smoked Salmon, Avocado and a bagelEveryone enjoyed their orders, and I especially enjoyed the perfectly toasted Everything bagel that I chose with my order. Nothing was left over on our plates! We definitely came hungry! LOL. Looking forward to coming back next time and trying their Maple Fried Chicken Breakfast Sandwich!Happy eating till next time!

Visited this place in downtown Carlsbad for another graduation event and it was my first time here. Cute kitchen with indoor and outdoor patio seating. This place was half empty and we sill had to wait a long time before getting seated. In fact I had to ask the indoor staff to call someone to get us a table. Really felt I was invisible as I did make a lot of eye contact with staff but no one came to the front to seat us. Once we got seated the service got a little better. We got menus to browse while water was being served.I ordered the maple fried chicken brioche sandwhich with a side of hashbrosn and it was OK. THe chicken wasn't as crispy but it was a bit soggy. THis was before I added the sunny side up egg to it. My parents ordered the salmon lox bagel which was good and the other dish was parmesan risotto benedict. That dish was interesting as it was very parmesan cheesy and a bit salty. Other parties in my group ordere mango pancakes which tasted really good and fluffy and chileaquiles. Both were good. I will come back again and try their lunch menu items.

Can't find the breakfast burrito on their menu. But saw so many people eating one. So I ordered one too. It's was good and the price was even better.

Delicious food, great little restaurant. They were packed and the food still came out good! Highly recommend.

Such great shaded patio dining vibes. Friendly service. Breakfast until they close around 2pm. We looked the kids menu pancake for my 5 yr old, served with whipped butter and warm syrup. The House best salad with salmon was fresh and filling. The chilaquiles with carnitas was spot on and they're generous with the sauce. Filtered ginger beer made for a fresh accompaniment. Lovely spot!!!

The food and service is great. They have really good matcha. The wait is a bit long but worth the wait.
