San Diego Sandwich

I've been here three times and not once have I ever had a pleasant experience with ordering food. The sandwiches are decent although they are overpriced, they are okay. The soup is good but the portions are very small. Soup and sandwich combo with a drink usually comes up to about 15 bucks, which is not way overpriced but not a great deal either. My biggest issue is the food service. Not once have I ever had a pleasant experience with ordering food. I've been here four times and each time the staff was not pleasant somewhat rude and seem to be annoyed when I was going through the ingredients list for my sandwich. The last time I went the young lady taking my order gave me a lot of attitude and I was really close to just walking out Midway through my ordering food but as I do like to support local and small businesses I decided to just let it go and enjoy my meal. I did not enjoy my meal nor have I really ever enjoyed the food there because the portions are relatively small for the price. At least they could be more pleasant with their customers. I will not be returning and although I do like neighborhood establishments, if this place goes out of business it will most certainly be because the customer service is sub par.

San Diego Sandwich was a complete letdown, earning a solid 1 out of 5 stars. If I could, I'd give it zero stars without a second thought. I went for the charbroiled chicken sandwich from the "hot sandwiches" menu, and oh boy, was it disappointing. The bread lacked any toasty goodness, and for a sandwich shop, it fell short in terms of bread quality. To add insult to injury, besides the tasteless chicken, all I got was a sad bit of lettuce.My partner decided on the spicy chicken sandwich, and it was like a sad rendition of frozen buffalo boneless chicken wings you'd find in a grocery store freezer. Sure, it had a hint of flavor, but it still ranked as one of the worst sandwiches we've ever encountered.In a nutshell, San Diego Sandwich didn't just miss the mark; it failed spectacularly in delivering a satisfying sandwich experience. Despite the fast and friendly service, San Diego Sandwich's disappointing, flavorless food highlights their desperate need for improvement.

I'd been meaning to try this place for a while. It's a cute place, and larger than it looks from the outside. Service is very good, with a friendly staff. They are very chatty here, but seem to know the regulars, but treat everyone like regulars, which is good. I ordered the #27, turkey avocado and cheese, on a French wheat roll. The way they cut and stuffed it was unique, like a salad sitting on top of the bread. I think I would have rather had it closed, but okay. The sandwich was pretty good, but I think I like Submarina better. It's also a little pricier here, but to be fair, it was a pretty large and filing sandwich. It's worth a try though.

After getting an authentic barbershop haircut. I noticed this establishment. Very unassuming and a menu of the all time great sandwiches. The ambiance is what you would expect 1960's sandwich shop which is a compliment. No fuss just good eats. I ordered to go and got a Turkey, Avocado and Bacon Sandwich which my daughter loved and was generously stuffed with ingredients. I got the Reuben half sandwich which was my error I could have gotten the whole for a few bucks more. I was "meh" about the Reuben which was just average with slightly over cooked corned beef. I am not a fan of deli meat Reuben sandwiches. Not judging if you are then you would love this one. I will be returning for a turkey bacon sandwich next time.

This is what San Diego Sandwich calls "turkey". It is dry, absolutely shredded, and fell out all over the place. I paid for avocado, got none. That was the last time, folks!! No mas!! A total waste of $14. Plus, I was on a break, no time to go back and complain or get my money back. Missed my dinner and had to go back to work. Thanks!!

Nice clean little sandwich shop with a bunch of options. I went with the ham, salami, mortadella and provolone sub. These are sandwiches I grew up on, and this one was OK. My big problem was the bread they served it on. A very average, doughy white sub roll. It was just too much bread in every bite. So, I took half the roll and the sandwich was much better. They had a very average potato salad I ate with my meal.I really did like the shop itself. I love a place that still employs a soda fountain. The establishment was very clean and the service was wonderful.

It was pretty good. It's a sandwich hahahahaha. I'm not a huge sandwich guy though so take this with a grain of salt!

I've been coming here for 8 years, and I really want to support local small businesses like this, but today I got a sandwich and brownie there and found quite a bit of plastic in my brownie. I called them on the phone to let them know, and they acted like I was bothering them, and they were too busy to deal with it. I saved the material and the other intact brownie, but she wasn't interested in offering a refund or anything. I seriously almost choked on this and pulled it out of the back of my mouth. Inexcusable.

The bacon is so burnt it's giving no flavor but burnt oil! Dry sandwich that isn't worth what you pay for it.
