Crudites, vegan as is
Squash blossom! Oh this was so yummy. That sweet potato and corn tempura give you some old-school flavors that are authentic AF.
Vibras cocktail: mezcal-based, highly recommend. Mezcal is like the older, more soohisticated brother to tequila. Try this.
Door to the restroom. It's so pretty.
Maria Tambien: like a grown up horchata. Very good.

Food was 10/10! Celebrated my friend's birthday, so we were excited to try everything. Their special cocktails were top notch. We had the tuna tostada, tamal, crab doughnut, pulpo, squash blossom, memelita, and flan. The pulpo was the softest octopus I've ever had. And the flan was to die for. We went back another night just for the flan. If you're iust stopping by for a drink, please try the flan.Service was amazing! Our server was so helpful plus was able to give good drink recommendations based on what I was feeling that night. Ambiance was spot on. I felt like I was in an old Catholic church. It was moody, dimly lit, the stained glass was bewitching. Truly a beautiful spot.Location- so convenient if you're staying at The Lafayette. We just walked down from our room. Made our reservations earlier in the week.

Such a unique dining experience and food incredible. Food: order the whole fish, it is so insanely well done + packed with flavor. Service is attentive and friendly. We always get the same server and he's consistently great. Ambiance: very moody + trendy and really dark haha. Have been here 3-4 times and always recommend!

I want to extend my gratitude to the entire crew at Quixote, with a special shoutout to our waiter for the exceptional service and warm hospitality. From the moment we spoke with him about the menu, we felt genuinely welcomed. He attended to every detail, from refilling our drinks to sharing his favorite dishes and recommending the perfect pairings. The drinks were strong yet delicious, and the food was outstanding--we sampled a little bit of everything, and the flavors were amazing. We made sure to save room for dessert, and I'm so glad we did because the flan was simply the best we've ever had. We drove all the way from Las Vegas and had to call in to push our reservation back. The staff graciously accommodated our change, and we were thrilled to make it just in time for dinner and drinks. We can't wait to return to town for another round of incredible dishes and cocktails!

Came to Quixote for the first time to celebrate a birthday. First thing was the place was super dark and a bit loud. Parking was difficult because the hotel was not taking valet and street parking was scarce. Our server was nice. For the drinks, my friend got one with mezcal and it tasted like petrol. The octopus appetizer and the guacamole were delicious! The steak plate was also very good! I wouldn't recommend the huitlacoche tamal. There was something minty in it and it tasted like dirt. And they also gifted my friend a corn ice cream for her birthday but was also not impressed with the flavor. Probably won't come back.

What I ordered | oaxan fondue | crab corn donut | whole grilled fish | pulpoTaste | the doughnut had a really good sauce that complemented the dish. The whole grilled fish had a lot of flavor and a big portion. Fondue was good with stretchy. Pulpo was also delicious and lots of flavor.Service | our server was great. food came out pretty fastParking | streetNotes | we had a reservation around 9:30 PM on a Thursday night. Located in the Lafayette hotel. It's pretty dark here in the restaurant overall.

Highly recommend this place. The food is very unique and flavorful. Most of the food here are tapas style. The inside makes you feel like you're teleported into a Mexican church with stained glass all over the walls. The service here was also amazing, our server had the best recommendations. The drinks here were also very good all mezcal or tequila base. Highly recommend getting the crab donuts with caviar on top. Will definitely be going back.

Great quality, poor quantity, and good value. If you're looking for an adventurous and intimate dinner to tickle the taste buds and kick off a night out, this is a great place to stop by. You have so much more of the Lafayette Hotel to walk around and explore afterwards and there are so many things to do like bowling and many little arcade games in one of the exhibits. Quixote is a restaurant with a Oaxacan inspired concept decorated in the aesthetic of a Catholic church that exhibits a deep and romantic environment dimly lit by candles and lamps! Not only is the decor gorgeous but the food is carefully plated to make picture perfect presentation. This is one of the most photograph-able restaurants within the San Diego Area and is a must go for anyone who wants to spice up their social media. My friends and I came to Quixote as a walk-in party for a birthday occasion. On our particular night, the restaurant was in the sweet spot of not too busy so we could get quick seating but busy enough that you are engulfed in the ambience of the restaurant commotion.Of the few items listed on their menu, we ordered the Mamelita, Crab Corn Doughnut, Chili Garlic Shrimp Tacos, and the Beet Salad. All of these items were so beautifully presented and were very easy on the eyes as they were to the tongue. Admittedly, the menu is quite expensive and the volume of food served is quite small. My group ordered 4 items to share amongst 4 people and, while we were satisfied in our experience dining, we were not so satisfied in fullness. Expect to either break the bank to get full or have a plan to grab something extra afterwards if you're looking for a full dinner.

Quixote is a Mexican dining option on The Lafayette property. The theme is gothic as you can see from the bar (one of 7 on the property). We came here for drinks and had a twist on a paloma w/ mezcal. It was light & refreshing, and a great way to end the evening. They also have a number of other sig drinks like a Oaxacan Old Fashioned, and Mexican spirits raicilla & sotol.Regarding the ambiance, its dark and gothic in here. Nonetheless, the bar is cool and stocked w/ good tequila like G4. The mixologists (like all the ones at TL), take their craft seriously. Our bartender took his time crafting our drinks, and was very friendly. The next time I come to TL, I will have to try the food. I glanced at the menu and I saw pulpo. I enjoy good octopus w/ a tequila or mezcal based drink.

Had the duck carnitas and some great local beers. Food was great but the service is what stood out. Our server Kiyomi was awesome and always had recommendations when we were being indecisive. They were pretty busy but she took the time to talk to us. Great spot
