Pockets Billiards & Brew

Pockets Billiards and Brew is hidden at an industrial park next to a Tesla repair shop. As I was searching to try a new hobby, I've came across this place due to the pricing only being $6.50 per hour for 2 players. And boy is that cheap, 2 hours of pool plus craft beer on tap at the bar is only $20. Safe to say as first-timers, we have found a new hobby and have been going once a week ever since then. You really can't go wrong with this place, from pool, to drinks, and to the great people, music, and atmosphere; I highly recommend this place from newbie to experience, you will be welcome no matter what.

Awesome place to play pool & grab a couple drinks! Not only are there a huge selection of pool tables but the selection for beer/ other drinks itself is large. It's more of a serve yourself by going up to the bar but once getting there everyone is attentive & helpful when deciding what beer you're wanting to try out. The place gets packed but with said, there is plenty of room to hangout and still grab a table or two. Coming back, they've shown consistency with the well kept place, great staff, & other selections!

Great place to come with friends, especially on a weekday! Came around 5pm on a Thursday and was able to get a table right away, but within 1 hour, all tables were filled and there were many people inside. There was Mexican food to order right outside and decent beer selection. I'm excited to come back!

The availability of such ample space and tables guarantees that everyone has an opportunity to play, regardless of how busy the place might be. A major plus point is the excellent condition of the equipment. The cues, the balls, and the tables are all impeccably maintained, ensuring a high-quality gaming experience every time.But it's not just about the physical aspects of the place. What really sets this bar apart is the staff. They are always so friendly and eager to help, which adds a pleasant vibe to the whole experience. The bar team is not just serving drinks, but they are also taking great care of their customers, ensuring everyone has an enjoyable time.What impresses me the most, however, is their dedication to junior players. Their passionate support for young talent is admirable. They have practice sessions on Saturday afternoons, which provide a great platform for juniors to improve their skills. The lessons are superbly conducted and are a brilliant learning opportunity for anyone eager to learn the game.If you're looking to dramatically improve your skills in a short period, I highly recommend you inquire about their lessons. It could be your secret weapon to make significant progress without your friends even knowing!My son has benefitted enormously from these sessions. With their support, he was able to reach 2nd place in a national competition. I believe that this achievement would not have been possible without the strong foundation and the supportive environment that this pool bar provides.So, if you're looking for a pool bar that provides a high-quality playing experience with a welcoming environment, I would highly recommend this place. My family and I were on the lookout for a pool hall that had a variety of drinks rather than just beer. This place has a bar and a variety of drinks however their liquor is limited to a specific brand. Either way, the pool hall was awesome. The tables, balls, and pool sticks were so well kept, it's just not something you see regularly. I will definitely be back!

I came her on a Saturday night with a few friends. It was my first time and I loved it. The tables are pay by the hour, so it's fun to go with a group of people. Of the food options, I tried the pizza and chili fries. Of the two, the pizza was def the better option. Looking forward to coming here again!

Update: I am upgrading rating to 4 stars after calming down a bit.. bartender was super busy and I'd be annoyed too. All good. From what I can tell, place looks good but doesn't deserve the same rating as O' Billiards, which is my favorite from this San Diego trip. Even if I played, no way would it beat the big O.. that's the spot if you're a serious player.Original post: made a reservation for 9 (nothing available earlier at 5 when I did it) and came at 7:30. I first tried to ask the main bartender where the line was for balls as it was not obvious and she said something short I could not understand and walked away so I asked another patron who said they got a table after waiting an hour. So I asked another guy working there if they could move it up. At first the two guys working at the bar looked optimistic and said they had to ask the main bartender (same one from beginning). She looks at me and says a stern no, waiving her finger at me. I was not a fan of that transaction or that bartender behind it.The tables looked nice and there was decent room between them. I would probably give it 5 stars if able to play but could not so minus 1 star and then that bartender and her attitude, minus another star. There's a great place at o billiards right down the street and they are plenty nicer... adios!P.S. I walked in and got a table immediately at O.. full size and perfect.

Almost went into the wrong place nearby. Just know you're at the right place when you see Tesla on the opposite side. We entered this place and I just want to say, this place is a vibe. The guys helping us yesterday were awesome and knowledgeable on what they have on tap. Wish they would've had ballast point though. You also can't beat the $6.50 you play hourly on the weekdays.

4.5 stars.A great destination to shoot pool and have a beer with your friends.Pros:- Lots of pool tables (twelve 7-footer / bar tables, and two 9-footer tables).- Good hourly rates and an online reservation system.- AMI Jukebox so you can load up your tunes from your phone.- Beer - a good selection to choose from, both on tap and bottled.- Their thin crust pizza is pretty tasty (I like the cauliflower crust version).- Plenty of parking and good Air Conditioning- Fantastic Staff- Convenient location: right off the freeway and where the 52&163 come together:  whether you're coming from Solana Beach, Poway, Downtown, or Pacific Beach, it is easy to get to.Cons:- No hard alcohol- Nothing else to walk to nearby (i.e. its in a commercial warehouse district, not a restaurant row).

Chill place overall. The atmosphere is great for games Most of my friends like it and now make it a regular spot now. Franco, Joe, and Evan were working when I was there at the time. Chill guys, felt welcomed, and they gave great recommendations for beersdef going back here again when I have the time. Worth a visit if you like
