Mike Hess Brewing - Ocean Beach

Every time that I write a review update for Mike Hess in OB, I feel like I'm a broken record: Great beer, great vibe, dogs, exemplary staff, cool people...This review is no different. All of those things apply. Still. Crisp and refreshing and very tasty.

This brewery was a couple blocks down from where we were staying so we ended up stopping in for a drink twice while we were staying in town. Loved sitting at the window with the garage door open and people watching! Liked the Vietnamese coffee beer, the sour I had was good but was a little disappointed at how low its ABV was lol! The pumpkin ale I had was fantastic but I will never be able to pronounce was it was. Will come back next time we're in town!

Great chill spot in a quieter part of OB that actually has parking. Super clean interior with bar stools etc and friendly service when picking one of their many many beers on tap. Love love love that they support LOCAL ARTISTS with their art shows organized by the lovely Trixie! I was there for an opening and would def come back when in the area.

Went to Ocean Beach and got thirsty. Mike Hess was a short walk so we went for it. I had tasted one of their beers at a beerfest and remembered it was good.We shared a flight of 5 and every single beer was delicious. Seriously. The employees were playing the best playlist and the open-to-the-outside pub room made it feel like we were on our porch. Chill atmosphere and great beers - what else could you ask for?

Great chill place with a fun vibe and excellent beer. Recommend the sangria seltzer, grapefruit solis, and blood orange ipa. We were in OB for three days and spent time here all three days! Super dog friendly as well. All the guys working there were super helpful and friendly-shout out to Alex!The tacos from the truck are pretty good if you get hungry.

Such a chill place and nice helpful staff!Great place to relax grab a beer or a few or a flight if you wanna sample a couple to find your fav!My cousins and I played Uno and ate lunch here. You are allowed to bring outside food in. Niiice.They have tons of merch to choose from.If it is your first time there and you're getting a flight, turn in your poker chip and you'll get to choose a glass for free!Dog friendly :)

10/10, husband and I loved this place! I really wish we grabbed the bartenders name, he was freaking awesome! We went in for a quick beer one of the nights on our way home from a walk but enjoyed the atmosphere so much, we came back a second time with our pup the next day! Environment is super laid back, bartenders are cool and the variety of beers are great! Ended up buying some merch to spread the word and also because it was like $12 a shirt. Def recommend this place for brewery folks! Grab yourself a flight so you can come back with your glass mug it comes with!

Great tasting beer, I'm gluten sensitive but am willing to drink beer after taking digestive enzymes. They have seltzers that are unique in flavor. We were informed that their beer is GF but given there's so much red tape around the label "gf" they don't advertise it as GF. Honestly tho, I enjoyed their beer bloat free... the must be using the best quality, little preservatives. Their Bartender tho, he was beautiful. Looks like he could be out of an Indian Bollywood movie. Yet, So Vanilla. All beauty maybe very little brains. Idk tbd, he def doesn't know how to invoke a convo. He made me feel like I was a nuisance with all my conversation. I had to ask him questions, and he had ample opportunity to sell me on so much. I'm willing to stand behind the brand but I do require some attention. Def recommend, just hope you get a more enthusiastic beer tender.

The guys during g the day are quite nice. Everyone isn't quite on the same page but I like them and their gear is great. The growler situation needs to be situated and more generous but I recommend this place, go during the day.I'd say reward folks who spend on your gear who get the word out and make us feel valued.Good product and beautiful place.

Great service, helpful staff! The manager was extremely helpful picking out beers for my picky wife:)
