THEY ARE BACKKKKKKKKKK Latchkey Brewery - Your Morena Blvd Must-Visit! There's something brewing just off Morena Blvd, and it's not just the shopping carts at Costco. It's the return of the crowd-pleaser, the hop innovator, and, dare we say, the kings of cool vibes - LATCHKEY Brewery is back in action, and we're here for it!Our love story with LATCHKEY just got a new chapter when they swung open their doors to 30 crafty gals caught in an Easter weekend rainyyyyy storm. Their game? Unmatched. Their hospitality? Next level. They didn't just welcome us; they rolled out the red (brewery) carpet.Imagine a sanctuary where you can sip on artisan ales while rain pitter-patters outside. Where laughter echoes, and glasses clink. Where 'last minute' doesn't mean 'less magic.' That's the wonder of LATCHKEY.From the moment we huddled through their doors - arms laden with picnic baskets and arts and crafts supplies - the LATCHKEY team welcomed us like family. Their space, usually echoing with the clinking of glasses and the murmur of hop-fuelled banter, transformed into our makeshift picnic spot, all while the storm raged outside. The vibes? Think your coziest living room but with kegs of the best brews on tap. The staff are not just staff, they become your favorite friendliest tribe.LATCHKEY, with your bubbly enthusiasm and gracious hearts, you've become our go-to guide for fantastic brews and times. You are the latest and greatest in not just craft beers but in creating a community space where everyone is family, the atmosphere is warm, and the good times roll.Looking forward to storming the castle again, armed with nothing but our love for a great brewery and the spirit of togetherness. Here's to more unexpected picnics, arts and crafts, and your unbeatable brews. Cheers, LATCHKEY - you're truly San Diego's liquid treasure!

First time here scoping out places for a local group meeting and got called multiple names from a guy at the bar. Honestly one of the most uncomfortable atmospheres I've been in for a brewery (been to most in SD); this dude was unhinged and apparently "local" according to him. Small space, beer was undrinkable with what was going on, and it's really out of the way in comparison to other local brew pubs. There was no security or managerial presence to regulate anything, so felt unsafe for my girlfriend in the context above as well. Hate to write this but, yuck... skip and go to a more regulated/established place.

I love Latchkey so much! They've got a great variety of brews on the menu and a lot of space indoors and outside to hang out while you drink. They also have a foosball table along with some televisions. They have a deal with a nearby pizza place where you can order pizza over.

The customer service was great really nice beertender. My hubby said the beers were delicious. So 3 stars because they have nothing for people who are driving. Literally they have carb and sugar loaded waters and carb and sugar loaded soda in the bottle. No regular water in a bottle just tap which was really bad tasting.. I would go back if they had some choices for celiac people that wasn't loaded with sugar and carbs...

Latchkey Brewing took over the space that used to belong to the previous brewery, Acoustic Ales. I haven't visited the area in a few years, so I was shocked to see a different name. However, I was glad to see that another brewery took its spot.We came by before flying out of the airport, so it was a great way to bid farewell to the city. We both ordered taster flights, which came in a grand total of 4 for $8. There is a wiiiiide selection. You've got your light pilsners and ales, then a good amount of IPAs, Belgians, and a select few sours and darker stouts and porters. There will definitely be something for everyone. I wasn't entirely blown away by all of the beers, but I enjoyed their hilarious beer names. My favorites were the monkey belgians and the Kickin' and Screaming hazy PA! Delicious and juicy. They also sell merch like tees, provide serve-yourself water, and have a partnership with a local Italian food truck. However, you have to call and place an order...then walk/drive over to pick it up if you don't want to wait 15 mins for delivery. We ended up not getting food truck eats, and brought our own snacks instead (sorry Latchkey! Didn't know if y'all were cool with that). Our taptender was a friendly bearded man who was SO wonderful. 5 stars to you sir for taking our polaroid pic for us. The setup of the space (especially where we were behind the sliding wooden doors) could be more thoughtfully curated. I LOVE that there's shuffleboard, fooseball, 2 TVs (awkwardly hung up) and large checkers! There is so much potential in this space, but there should totally be more moving around of furniture for better flow. The restrooms are clean though. The parking situation was rough for us because we didn't think to do street parking along Hancock St, so when we turned onto Washington (the busy street) we thought we could go down the one-way road to get parking structure spots. NOPE. Kurtz is a one-way, employee-only street. So customers beware! We ended up walking from our street parking area and later saw signs for parking in a parking structure, but ya have to pay for that.

My boyfriend and I stopped by Latchkey for the first time earlier tonight to get a few beers. Within 5 minutes of entering we were harassed by some old 60 yo man (I'm guessing a regular) at the bar - he seemed to dislike everyone that's not a born and raised "local" and said something along the lines of "that's the problem, too many kooks around here" behind our backs as we walked towards a table.Very off putting and disrespectful as we didn't say anything to him except that we were from the east coast. Completely unprompted and this made us feel uncomfortable and close out our tab immediately. In fact I drank like 2 sips of my beer and decided to leave. We definitely will not be coming back to this brewery as it appears to be "localized" by some old guy that happened to be born and raised here. What a joke. Not sure what's so hard about treating people especially strangers with basic respect. But instead this old catty guy decided to talk smack within earshot of us.

Katie behind the counter was a delight. Got some recommendations from her and all beers were yummy. Not a sour guy but they just brewed "It's My Jam". Kettle sour with Rasberries. Delicious. Great little spot to stop by if you're shopping at Costco or about to go play some pickleball at Kings like I'm about to do. Beers are so good I don't even remember the name of the brewery that it used to be a month ago. Haha. That's for you Katie

Great beers and food. The Pastrami Stand makes amazing pastrami dips. My favorite beer is an imperial stout aged in a Screwball whiskey barrel. Try a taster... Even if you're not a stout drinker, it's delicious.
