Great value for carne asada fries compared to everywhere else. 12.99 and the box is big in addition they do not skimp on the meat here which is what I love and so fair!! The only down size is that they do only give a limited amount of salsa today and charge for extra. But aside from that this is the place to go for value and quality! I love their carne asada fries here and rolled tacos. Rolled tacos are the best value in town here and quality!

We were ill recently so I stopped by La Morena two times to get us chicken soup. The soup was fresh, homemade, and delicious. They give you 1 gigantic warm tortilla per order and all the garnishes such as onion, cilantro, and lime that is packed in a separate foil for freshness. Their red and green sauce are both good as well. We were very happy with the food and it is priced great for what you get. The couple who run this place are very kind and work their tails off. The only bad thing is the location, which is not their fault but it still is what it is. The homeless problem is getting worse everywhere. I would still return without hesitation to this spot if we are ever in the mood for soup or any other Mexican staples. I had a birria de chiva (goat soup) many years ago which was also fantastic, and I am sure that their tacos/burritos/chile rellenos, etc. would have the same high quality as the soups.

Love this place, amazing food,great service,large selection including mariscos and birria,they even accept ebt. What else can you ask for? One of my favorite Mexican food places in San Diego. Honestly just wish it was closer to home but hey,its worth the trip for sure.

I ordered ahead of time still took awhile. That's fine but why are they charging extra fees? If there is a card fee that should be disclosed

This is by far one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Everything I have tried here has been very tasty. The customer service is good (Except for a few months back when a young woman was working the register. She was not polite, and she seemed annoyed that you were in the restaurant). I haven't seen her in a while "thank goodness" I was just about to stop going there because of her. My favorite thing to order is the carnitas tacos, they are delicious, and I must have them at least once a every week. The restaurant is small, but you can eat there they have 5-6 tables, or take out.2022 (#1)

My go to taco shop! Great staff and consistently dependable food that you will rely on and return for more.

Beans are good here and everything is made to order. Much prefer this place to the drive thru across the street. I only wish they were more generous with salsa otherwise it's a nice option to haven this area.

Friendly server and very clean inside. I am trying the 3 roll tacos with shredded beef with guacamole cheese, lettuce, and sour cream for $5.99. The shredded beef was good but I didn't like the rolled taco. I would come back and try their breakfast burritos. They serve them all day.

I enjoy cooking and learning from exper cooks. The food at this location is balanced in flavors without a lot of salt or cheese which often general population believes Mexican food has. Shop is family owned and clean and good prices for the quality of food. The owner who developed the recipes shared all food is individually made fresh. Nothing is precooked. Try the location and its great food.

Best burritos in the area. My go to for breakfast burritos, carne asada, and California. I wish they were opened past 6pm.
