Great family-owned hole-in-the-wall for some budget, fast Mexican food. The lady who took my order was super sweet! I got the Al Pastor Burrito and it was so much food for the price. I'll definitely be back to try one of their daily specials.

If you like spicy and are looking for a nice kick this is the spot for you. A hidden taco shop located in Mira Mesa. Parking is easy since it's surrounded by a parking lot. Interior inside is clean and spacious. Not much seating but the food is great. There is a self serve area to grab salsa, cilantro, diced onions, and lime. I was recommended by a worker to get the Carne Asada Fries but instead of fries, I substituted for tortilla chips. Normally the cheese would be melted but I didn't mind for either. The meat isn't dry and the chips were actually crunchy and not soggy. Most taco shops I been to, the fries or chips are always soggy so I was glad this restaurant excelled my expectations. I definitely would come back here again!

Nice little hidden taco shop in Mira Mesa. Stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon, feeling to lazy to cook. LOL Parking is easy and the place was a little dark but seemed clean. We ordered at the counter and waited. We ordered:Carne Asada Torta - Very good! We ordered and drove home and I was so worried the bread would be soggy but it made it and kept dry! Stuff with carne, guac and some more veggies and it tasted very good. Very big torta!Ceviche tostada - Ceviche is a red ceviche. Not my favorite but this one tasted pretty good. One complaint is that the tostada had little ceviche on it. I like it piled high so I can finish the leftovers after the tostada shell is done.Cheese Enchiladas - Different sauce than the typical red enchilada sauce! It was like a mole/green sauce mix and tasted very good! It was sweet and spicy and not expected. The enchiladas were a little bare of cheese but overall not bad.Pollo Asado and Carnitas tacos. Pretty good. Nothing great or bad about them. Lots of meat and guac.If I am in the area, I may come back to try a few other items.

I enjoy flavorful and spicy food, despite not being of Hispanic descent. I grew up in Kearny Mesa and frequent my go-to spot on Convoy, where I rate meals based on their carne asada and salsa. Since moving back to Mira Mesa, I discovered this spot that I believe offers Mexican cuisine with a more satisfying level of spice. I find many similar places cater to bland taste buds and lack of heat The carne asada burritos are my favorite here, as they are seasoned to perfection and incredibly tasty. I prefer my food hot, and the combination of their hottest salsa and seasoning is the best carne asada I've ever had. The owner, she is always present and working hard, and I visit the restaurant three times a week. Since COVID is over, they offer indoor seating, and beer is available. If you enjoy spicy food, this is the place for you!

Spacious parking lot with no line on a lunch weekend. A mom and pop shop with authentic Mexican food. Overall great food with a caveat that they don't provide water.Food (7.5/10):Carne asada fries - I'd say above average compared to other places in the area. A great dish to share amongst a group of 4-5. Carne asada and bean tostada - pretty good. A great balance of flavors and textures with a nice crunch. Carne asada taco - was not expecting such a large size. Probably the size of 2-3 tacos at other places. Value (7.5/10):The portions here are larger than average for the tacos. From what I've seen the burritos are standard size. I'd say the value is slightly above average. Ambience (6.5/10):Very standard tables and chairs like any other Mexican spot. Low key and not very lively or noisy. A very very casual dine in spot.

Just moved to the area and found this little hole in the wall close by! We have already been 4 times in the last month!! The woman at the counter is always so kind and nice to chat with. I always get the chicken soup when it's available and if it's not, the carne asada burrito is my next go-to. Highly recommend to anyone living in the Mira Mesa area.

3.5 starsWith so many Mexican options in San Diego in general and Mira Mesa as well, La Mexican Fiesta always seemed to slip under the radar. Perhaps it's because this isn't one of your 24 hr places and my cravings for Mexican food are loosely correlated with late night drinking. It's not my fault. It's a disease ok?! Anyway, I finally stopped by during open hours (barely) and was able to tryout some Carne Asada fries - the go to standard metric of San Diego Mexican eateries. Since they about to close I took it too go. The dine in area is smaller but festive. The food itself was pretty good. A creamier guac sauce was used instead of a traditional guacamole but I'm not one that actually minds that. There wasn't as much food as other places will give you but I was pretty satisfied overall. I'll be trying to come more often since it is actually closer than other places but it just depends on when the cravings hit!
