La Conde - San Diego

I've been meaning to visit La Conde since they opened, and yesterday, the stars aligned perfectly. We're long-time Padres members, and as we walked toward La Conde, they were taking a quick photo outside. It turned out they had 5 dollar shots. ( How Cool ) I tried the watermelon jalapeno, and Christy had the mango; both were spot-on, light, and delicious. We talked for a bit with the staff, who were delightful I asked about the late-night dining, and pizza was mentioned. Wait, Latin pizza? It's about time. Fast-forward: After the Padres' win, we stopped by and saw our friends again. We ordered two pizzas with a fresh avocado salad. The salad had a ton of avocado, seasoned perfectly with flavor. We went surfing and turf with the pizzas, the birria, and shrimp. I loved them. The shrimp was on the sweet side, while the birria was more savory. They make their dough, and it's different from traditional pizza dough. Everybody was so lovely and attentive. Shout out to Pricella! WeI loved the smoke show!Ok, the down low on some of the reviews:1. This is not a quiet restaurant; they have excellent Latin music playing, so if this is not your vibe, keep walking2. We were given the choice of tap or bottled water. Are they offering bottles? Yes, because it's a for-profit business 3. We enjoyed our meal, but folks must allow a little wiggle room for Mexican food. We all have our favorites, and it's cool to find a Latin restaurant with its unique interpretation.

**If I Could Leave Zero Stars, I Would a Million Times Over!**This has to be one of the most horrendous places I've ever had the misfortune of visiting in my life. From the atrocious service (thanks to Franklin T.), to the watered-down drinks, subpar food, and even the dreadful ambiance--everything about this place was a disaster.Our server, Franklin T(Frank)., was beyond inattentive. Maybe because he was too busy outside hitting his nicotine pen. It was clear from the moment we sat down that he had no interest in providing even basic service, likely because the gratuity was already included in the bill. His excuse? He was "just so busy." Busy with what? When we arrived at 7 PM, there were only three tables occupied in the entire restaurant!The drinks were ridiculously overpriced, and to make matters worse, half the items we wanted to order were no longer available. The food? Don't even get me started. You'd be better off getting takeout or going to Olive Garden. It was bland, overcooked, and utterly disappointing. Even the music was unbearable--they played the same two songs on repeat the entire time! I felt like I was stuck in an endless loop of bad decisions. I have no idea how this place is still in business. If you're looking to ruin your night, this is definitely the place to go. But if you value your time, money, and sanity, stay FAR, FAR AWAY!!!

**Worst Dining Experience Ever!**I had the unfortunate experience of dining at La Conde in San Diego, and I must say it was one of the worst meals I've ever had. The service was absolutely abysmal, thanks to our server, Franklin T. From the moment we sat down, he was rude, inattentive, and made us feel like an inconvenience. His attitude was beyond unprofessional, and it was clear he had no interest in providing even the most basic level of service.As for the food, it was a complete disaster. Every dish we ordered was bland, overcooked, and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. There was no effort put into the presentation, and it was clear that the kitchen had no idea what they were doing. To top it all off, the drinks were a joke. There was absolutely no alcohol in them, despite being advertised as cocktails. We might as well have been drinking juice!If you're thinking about going to La Conde, do yourself a favor and avoid it at all costs. There are plenty of other places in San Diego that actually care about their customers and know how to serve a decent meal. This place is a total waste of time and money.I want to add that we did speak to the manager and he was more accommodating but still does not make up for the situation.

My friends and I had a great experience for a dinner at La Conde. The tomahawk plate was perfectly cooked and wells served for all of us. Good music, good vibes and good drinks. I forgot the name of the guy who served us but we had a great time.

Food was decent- but not worth the price. Service was horrible. Our waitress didn't seem to want to be there and it showed. She seemed annoyed the whole time- and she wasn't even around often. Music was blaring- we were sitting in the bar area (not by choice) so maybe that's why, there's definitely other places I'd go to before coming back here

Amazing Food love the music and the service is my spot when I go to downtown , specially after the padres game

I would definitely like to give this place another try, but maybe in a smaller group setting or just for date night. We went in a big crowd for a friend's birthday. Maybe about 10 ppl total? We waited outside as if this was a club. Lol. We were seated & it was a bit tight. The ambiance, vibes, & music were great! It's loud & was giving off club vibes for dinner. Although I don't believe there's a dance floor since it is a restaurant. Bathrooms were nice. Again, club vibe-ish. Food was ok, nothing over the top. Which is why I want to go back to try different menu items. Anyways, parking wise, it's downtown. We ended up valeting the car which they have the option which was nice. Upon leaving, I was waiting for valet to bring my car up. The guy handed me the keys & told me it's parked across the street. Tf. Isn't that why I'm paying for your service? I'd understand if it was a "whatever you wanna tip" typa ordeal. But no, you're paying for valet. So YOU bring my car to the front. Which I told him & he did. But that was kinda annoying. They valets were too busy talking between each other they didn't even wanna do their own job!

This spot really is more of a lounge than a restaurant. I recommend coming here for drinks at the bar. The music is poppin and the drinks are yummy & pretty! The service was very very poor. It honestly took so long for anyone to even notice us when we were seated. It seemed like our server picked us up because he realized we hadn't been helped. The food was okay, the best thing was the steak. This place talks a lot about their quality steaks so stick with those options!Also, the seating was dirty, but the vibes are super cute for photos! This place is great for a vibe but not great for a meal! Also, we were disappointed there wasn't any performers and it was a weekend.

I saw this place while walking back to our car after a Padres game. We've been twice in the span of one week!!The food is tasty. I've had the green enchiladas with pork (delicious green salsa) and the New York strip steak (well seasoned and cooked to perfection). My wife let me try her chile relleno with shrimp which I thought was also tasty - excellent red salsa. We stuck to the mezcal menu both times We've been. Nothing but good things to say about the mezcal cocktails - they were served with dry ice so they came out looking extra cool. I would describe the waitstaff as attentive and courteous. One of out visits was on a busy weekend night, the other was a slow weekday night. Great service both visits. Ambiance can only be described as latino dinner party! Music is just a tad on the louder side. Can't to visit a third time.
