Food 4/10Ordered shrimp tacos and fish tacos. Nothing special about it. They skimped me on the white ranch dressing on the tacos.Service 1/10Pay up front and added 20% tip.I saw that my fish tacos didn't have much white sauce on it. I asked for a little more since I barely had any on the taco, I even offered to show them my taco but they said I have to pay extra. Cashier looked like she didn't care at all.I'm paying 5-6 bucks per taco and I can't get a little extra sauce that they skimped out on without paying more?The restaurant is small and connected to the gas stations, nothing crazy there.There are much better options in San Diego for tacos. Will not be coming back here.

Honestly pretty decent food, the price for my fish burrito was $9.99 so I can't complain. I love the tortilla, it had a nice chew to it and in the fish burrito there was battered fried fish with pico de gallo and lettuce with white sauce. Fairly simple but paired with salsa verde from the sauce bar, it made for such a yummy bite. The burrito was so large, practically the size of my head. I was only able to finish half in one sitting. I give it 3 stars because it truly isn't anything special but for the price and what you get, I'd come back!

This is a legit small taco shop connected to a gas station. I really like their special #14 , 3 rolled tacos and a fish taco for $10. I really enjoyed it . The rolled tacos have shredded beef .

This place was an absolute gem! We thought it was a red flag that it was connected to a gas station, but the food was delicious and neither of us got an upset stomach after. We actually ended up going twice in our stay, and it seems like some items are better than others.Chimichanga #18: 4/5 it's absolutely HUGE. It was covered in salsa and guac, and the inside was filled with beef and peppers. The bottom was not as crunchy as I would have liked it, but overall, great flavor and definitely enough food for 2 people.Shrimp Diablo #32: 5/5 this was one of the most delicious things I ate in San Diego. The shrimp was flavorful and had a nice kick. Just fantastic!!Fish taco: 3/5 it was larger than I expected and came with two pieces of fish. It was pretty fresh, but it lacked flavor.Carne asada fries: 1/5 the meat was flavorless and dry, and the fries were soggy. Not worth it at all

Great Mexican shop to get all types of Mexican foods. They're quick, the food is cheap and portions are generous. My favorite things to get is lengua burrito, fish tacos, and rolled tacos.

I am not a fan of this Kotija Jr Taco Shop location which is right next door to the convenience store of a Shell gas station in Mira Mesa. Moto Deli had already tried to operate a sandwich shop in this space as well as another taco joint. Each business folded its operations in less than one year. The exit from the parking lot remains convoluted as you have to make a U-turn before reaching the intersection at Mira Mesa Blvd.That being said, I think this place has made a major improvement to the food selection. The menu was expansive, and even though the prices seemed high, the portion sizes of the tacos I ordered were large. I picked four tacos for my meal... adobada, carne asada, carnitas, and grilled mahi mahi. The last choice must have been on a special discount because it was the cheapest despite having the same quantity of ingredients.The carnitas was rather unique because the meat was in shreds like pulled pork. Normally, I am used to seeing small cubes of pork for carnitas. The adobada was also different in that it was quite crispy and chopped into small bits. The mahi mahi was three long pieces of filet tucked inside the corn tortillas. While the value and quality of the tacos were good, I had to deduct one star from my rating because of the less than optimal setup at a fuel depot.

I came in to this place because of the fish taco reviews.It's actually worthy! So surprised that a gas station taco place could provide good fish tacos. I couldn't even eat them on site and transported them to my work place.Fish tacos don't usually handle being transported and eaten later, but these did the trick

I dine at Kotija's near my home in La Costa/San Marcos area and their Super Breakfast burrito always hits the spot. Usually the hash browns are crisp or close to it, discernible meats, wrapped well, comes with sour cream, basically one of the best BB's around IMO. The one I got from this location had so much grease dripping out the loose wrap that I could barely keep together to eat, didn't add extra SC that I paid for, pretty sure the bacon and ham were the same horribly cut piece of undistinguishable meat. I was barely choking it down honestly.It didn't help that the rag they used to clean the tables right before I ate had been around a long time (I remember that smell from working in the restaurant industry) and that sour smell lingered throughout the whole room. I'm not even mad about this in particular and my description remains objective but I will just mention that I tipped an extra $2 when I paid for the order. I really just wanted the right amount of sour cream! ugh.

I stopped in this Kotija's for a bacon and eggs breakfast burrito with NO french fries. I still haven't got use to the idea of fries inside of a burrito and I probably never will. Anyways, they do make a very good breakfast burrito with plenty of scrambled eggs and bacon. The burrito also came with a good amount of cheddar cheese as well. The scrambled eggs were well scrambled and tasty. I loved the bigger pieces of bacon they put into this burrito. There was bacon on every bite. The burrito came with a quality flour tortilla.I only truly liked one of the hot sauces they gave me. It was the deep read one in the slightly larger container. I am not sure what they call it, but it had very good flavor and good heat.Service was very good. The young lady behind the counter was super nice and had a good sense of humor. They offer inside and outside seating.

The best tacos I've ever had & the best service!!They have a nice elegant seating area outside with lights. My wife & I go there at least twice a month!
