It's hard to come by good quality food during a pandemic. And even if you spend a good penny the food ain't worth it. THIS PLACE IS WORTH EVERY PENNY!! My father got their flier and was in the mood for BBQ. My mom threw away the flier, but remembered it was around Madison Avenue. We drove around and found the place. My mother and I were a bit skeptical if this was gonna be good because we're picky about BBQ- barbecue is either really good or it's not. They gave my parents a tester and liked it! Luckily they took cash or Venmo We ordered: Full Rack of BBQ Ribs $25 perfect for 3 people, a side of macaroni and cheese $5, and two sides of coleslaw salad $5/each. We ate it at home and Oh.My. God my dad used to work for Phil's BBQ and says this was WAY BETTER!! It was so tender, juicy, the meat comes off the bone easily, and they have BBQ sauce that's is spicy or not which is great!All in all. I am satisfied beyond belief and would happily return to purchase more of this great quality BBQ for my family or for future gatherings

No doubt the best BBQ in San Diego. Beef Ribs: UNReal! Cooked to delicious, melt in your mouth perfection. Baby Back Ribs: Delicious, fall off the bone - done RIGHT. ( I know; split time between KC and SD, so of course it was a comparison) Brisket is juicy and nice, but I would personally, slice it thinner...flavor is GREAT! Pork: REALLY great flavor, just used to more pulled/shredded (like Joe's KC/gas station).If you are in town and can hit this pop-up; you and yours will not be disappointed!!!

By far the best BBQ Beef Ribs and Beef Brisket in all of San Diego County. Also, the owners are super cool too.

I tried up and smoke this past weekend and all I can say it was overpriced and underwhelming. This is nothing personal and I am used to low quality bbq in san diego but I ordered an lb of brisket and mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was flavorless and barely as described lacking the topping mentioned online. In addition to the fact that I paid $5 for it despite the pre order which offered a free side. More importantly the brisket was decent but nothing to write home about. I kindly asked for lean on my order and it was extremely fatty. I am aware brisket meat has some fat but this was significantly more than normal. The bbq sauces were a nice touch and improved the food overall. The serving portion was very generous but honestly Id prefer quality over quantity any day. Especially having this place only open once a month my expectations were very high. Any way try el barbecue in golden hill brisket is head and shoulders above up in smoke. A little more expensive but worth every penny.

One of the best things I've learned during quarantine is ribs from these guys! Truly, some of the finest I've had in forever! Spicy bbq sauce is delicious (they have a sweet one, as well). Venmo and Sunday you can pull up and pick up without a fuss!Give them a try, we'll worth it!

Only a Sunday afternoon thing, but picked up a pound of some really delicious and perfectly cooked Brisket. This is some of the best that I have ever had. I will be back weekly!!

BBQ ribs were delicious, meat fell off the bone. Sauce was tasty.
