After YEARS of not having Jalapeno's my husband and I were coming down from seeing friends a couple exits up and decided we would be having Jalapeno's for dinner. We ended up getting the nachos supreme with carne asada and a carne asada burrito for my husbands late night snack and my lunch for the next day. Can I just say the food quality has maintained it's superiority without breaking the bank. The carne is quality and super flavorful and again their salsas are so well done, still so spicy and still so flavorful. Since our friends live close by we'll definitely be coming back more often!

Jalapeño's is our go-to place for Mexican food since it opened many years ago!It is consistently good with food variety, quality, service, and ambiance! The location is superb with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well as parking. My favorites have been the beef taco combo plate and chorizo burrito! Yesterday, I tried the chilaquiles plate and it was fantastic! The best chilaquiles ever!!! My wife loves the breakfast burrito, chicken tacos and rolled chicken tacos! The complimentary chips are awesome and the homemade salsas are the best!

This will be the LAST time I ever go to Jalapenos, despite being a customer for over 25 years, since I live close by. I used to bring my kids and their friends when they were younger, and very often would (and still do) stop and pick up food for dinner on the way home from work. The food was always decent, and the portions used to be good. In the past several years, the portions have gotten much smaller while the prices have almost doubled. The help at the front desk have never been especially friendly, happy, smiling or outgoing, but today takes the cake.Went in around 5:30 pm, place was practically empty.Ordered a carne asada plate to go, which is now $20 with tax, from an older woman with glasses.I asked for 2 salsa cups to get some pico to go with the plate, and when my to-go order was ready, I also asked for one red salsa to go with the $20 plate. The woman actually had the kahunas to tell me "NO!" Huh???!!!I said 'excuse me?' thinking I heard wrong. The woman goes on to admonish me and says "I just gave you 2 cups for salsa and we only allow 2 salsas per item".W T H ???!!!!I almost asked to speak to the owner or manager, but I was in a hurry to get home. I almost told the woman to take the $2 tip I put in the large tip jar, (bigger than Dallas, in every customers face when you pay for your food), out of the jar and use it to pay for an additional 1/4 oz. cup of red salsa that probably cost Jalapenos 1 cent to make, but decided not to even engage with someone so petty. I will just never return to Jalapenos, and tell everyone I know that lives or works in the Carmel Mountain area just how petty and cheap they have become. There are multiple other Mexican restaurants/taco shops within a one mile radius of Jalapenos that I'm sure would be more than happy to give a customer an "additional" one cent, 1/4 oz cup of salsa with their purchase of a $20 to go plate.Note to Owner or Management: The restaurant was empty today at 5:30 except for one other patron when I came in to place an order. People have a choice when it comes to where to dine, and in times like these when most people have to cut back on things like dining out, you will certainly have an uphill battle attracting or retaining customers with employees like you have manning the cash registers. I completely understand that you would not want someone ordering one taco and asking for 10 cups of salsa to go with it. But your employees should be able to think outside the box (or outside of the "2 salsa per item rule", if there even is one) and understand that 2 tiny 1/4 oz containers of pico and one tiny 1/4 oz container of red salsa to go with a $20 carne asada plate is not excessive or an outrageous request. A welcoming smile, a 'thank you for your business' or even (gasp!) a "would you like a cup for water or some chips while you wait?" would go a long way with customers, instead of a rude, scowling, petty employee admonishing a customer for daring to ask for a one cent 1/4 oz cup of salsa.'Bye, Jalapenos. Will be taking my business elsewhere.

Another stop on my attempt to try as many California Burritos as possible! Jalapenos is located in a large shopping center with easy free parking. Service is quick. I did takeout but there are plenty of tables for dine-in. California Burrito ($10.95): Compared to Yersenia, I preferred this California burrito because there was a generous amount of avocado, and that set up a great flavor contrast. My partner, however, preferred the meaty/cheesy flavor of the Yersenia California burrito over the one at Jalapenos. You should try both and compare! On my way out I saw that they have a Taco Tuesday promotion! So I will definitely be back to try out their tacos (since the other item on my to-do list is to try as many Taco Tuesday deals as possible!)

Taco shop with an inviting atmosphere and solid food. * Good place for a casual sitdown dinner (music and sports on the TVs). Note that many tables will be occupied with people waiting for togo orders.* One of the two best taco shops in the area, the other bieng Yesenia's.*Skip the $3.50 "wet style." It's not worth it. Plus, the "wet" was room temperature.

Living in SD for the past 25 year you become a fish taco snob. I definitely recommend Jalapeños fish tacos. Not the best, but definitely very good. 4 Star.

1st stop straight from the airport when my son arrives from the Big Island of Hawaii. Jalapenos never disappoints. We have been coming for years. We even get some to go to take on the plane with us when we go to visit him. I had the chilaquiles for the first time. They were really good. Great flavor and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The inside is clean and all the sport pictures and decorations are impressive.

Ordered the huevos rancheros. It was not great. I can't tell how they cooked the onions, but they were translucent with an odd texture and not a pleasant taste and it made for a strange dish.

A staple taco spot for CMR, & a favorite amongst many of my friends from high school. Located in the Rite Aid shopping center. They have a huge menu so you will have a ton of choices to choose from. Their portions are reasonable for the size & price. Beef Chimichanga: I was mad craving this & I remember having it here a few years back & loving it, so I went back. & it did not disappoint! It is definitely a hefty portion & they are generous with the protein.

Food is decent but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Not friendly at all. Feels like you are bothering them when you go in to pick up an order. Always check your food orders before you leave!
