Totally a San Diego bucket list place! The inside is chaotic and loud in the best way. We loved the service, a lot of fun. I got the single bacon cheeseburger and my fiancée got the double. Neither of us managed to finish, much to his chagrin. The burgers were huge! Juicy and totally delicious too!

An absolute STAPLE of San Diego cuisine Pretty delicious burgers but the lines are always down the street Really big portion for the price- hard to find nowadays! Regular "fries" are jojo's but we looked around and literally EVERYONE had onion rings. We asked if maybe we could change our order but the waiter ended up just bringing us a whole new basket of onion rings hahaFun environment, good vibes, nice customer service

I've only recently started to seek out really good burgers once in a while, so after 15 years in San Diego, I finally try out Hodad's, right at the OB mothership. My unpopular opinion is that the burgers are fine, well-executed, but pretty basic. Sort of a better version of The Habit or Fatburger. I prefer Rocky's, Regal Beagle, High Dive...Certainly not worth a special trip and waiting in line. You can't specify doneness, so mine was a medium-well grey center. Lots of veg packed in there including onions, which might be the best part. I like pickles on the side so I removed 8 or 9 slices! Two slices of tomato should have been one. Potato wedges were good. XL shareable mountain of onion rings ($22) were a big seller, but you need about 5-6 people to crush them all in one sitting. House beer was $8.50, which is typical these days. Service at the counter was good. Annoying 3% service charge. Time to stop this 2020 artifact already in 2024.

I think this is the best strawberry shake I have ever had! It's sooo delicious! Real ice cream and real strawberries. The fries are wedge fries. They're good. The burger was quite yummy. We substituted grilled onions and cheddar cheese and it made it amazing. I ordered on the app and the wait time was 40 minutes. I checked in 20 minutes early and after I was checked in I had my food in less than 10 minutes. This place is small. It's always crowded because the food is so good!

Hodads is a must when in San Diego. It's our families favorite no frills great food spot. Expect a wait anytime you go. We have been lucky to catch a few times with no wait. Expect the service to take a bit. It gets busy and they don't have that many people working the front. A mini cheeseburger with grilled onions is my go to with frings. The wedge fries and onion rings are SO stinking good! The milkshakes/malts are a must! They are huge and 1 is good for 2 people. Overall, this spot always hits the mark. It'll continue to be a must visit spot when we're in OB!

Popular burger joint with a casual skater and surfer vibe. Usually there is a long wait, but we were lucky to snag a booth right away. The interior is bold and loud, there is seating with a view of the beach pier. There are mini burgers $8, single burgers $13, and double burgers for $18. My mini burger was filling, I probably couldn't have sized up more. I loved how many vegetables and crunch were in the bite of my burger. Don't be afraid of how many white onions they seem to put on, they're a bit diluted or watered down so it's not such a pungent taste. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had before and the best in San Diego. A must try with their wedge fries and large portion of onion rings.

The best burger is OB! If you are in OB and can make it in, try this place. The place is small, and it gets packed. Walking in, you will be greeted by rock and roll and a punk vibe. Don't let the rough look of the waiters fool you; service is solid. The look is classic beach San Diego, with license plates on the walls. The burgers are large, and one is good for two people. Maybe it's a little messy, but it's well worth it.

A fun, raunchy bar slash burger joint near Newport Beach. Loud and rowdy. Workers are hilarious and in the mood to strike up a witty conversation. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area just to see what the hype is about. The burgers here are solid. You can't go wrong with ordering here as everything is super straight to the point. What you see is what you get. They have their own brand of beer which was pretty bomb. My girlfriend doesn't really like beer so they offered her cider and she absolutely loved it. Her new thing to drink is cider now but apparently it's a San Diego thing. Being a Vegas resident no one drinks that down here so it was fun to get a taste of what the locals like there. I also tried the guido burger that was inspired by guy fieri. Honestly, wasn't my thing with the pastrami but I can see why people like it. Still good overall. A San Diego choice spot

No photos because after a long day of fishing we got the burgers to-go and didn't want to wait in line! Be prepared to come and wait if you want to dine-in this popular spot. We got a double cheese burger, a guido burger, basket of onion rings, and a chocolate milkshake (aka the quintessential american meal LOL). I enjoyed my guido burger but the pickles were a bit too tart for my taste and the mustard was overpowering. My partner had the double cheese burger which he said was the size of his head and super juicy. They don't skimp on the portions here, half of my burger is still in the fridge. My favorite bites were 1000% the onion rings and the chocolate milkshake!! I've never enjoyed a chocolate milkshake this much before. The way the make it is so rich and creamy with the PERFECT amount of chocolate flavor in it. Cannot recommend the shake enough (this is coming from someone who usually doesn't opt for chocolate options). The onion rings' batter were so crispy and well made, we wish we got two baskets LOL!! The ambiance is very beach side diner (stickers galore) and there are two bathrooms inside so no worries if you've been out all day and need relief! The workers are all kind and upbeat. Go check out a popular spot in SD!

Such a cool/hip vibe when you enter the store. There are literal walls filled with varying car license plates from all over the country - it's funny to read some of them while you wait for your food. This is a burger spot. You have your typical burgers/cheeseburgers and some specialty ones as well. They also have choice of fries or onion rings or both which are called frings. They also have soda, shakes and beer options as well. Let me tell you... their portions are big! Even their single burger with all the included toppings inside is loaded! My mouth couldn't fit the width of that burger in one bite. The raw onion pieces inside are also so big - you can definitely taste it as you bite into it. The combination of the condiments inside taste great. It is a solid burger. Not knowing that these single burgers are filling enough, my friends and I decided to order a half order of frings (onion rings/fries) to share. We were both surprised at the portion of the "half". The fries literally filled the bottom and the onion rings pile high on top! It was so filling! Onion rings are so good and warm though. Their dipping BBQ sauce tasted delicious and is probably my favorite BBQ sauce out there... Overall, food was great. I left so full. Portions are super big whether it's the burger or the frings. Come hungry and leave full ~
