When you walk into Hasta, it's like walking into emerald city if emerald city was in Mexico City. There's so much beauty to look at you could spend 3 hours going over everything. It's open & inviting & the attention to detail is exactly what you'd expect from another Verant Group restaurant. Servers always seem so happy to be there. They are very attentive & helpful with the tough decision making. The food is insane, you can tell that Chef Kevin took a lot of time perfecting every recipe. You can taste the time, love, & detail in every bite. Everything I've had so far is somehow both extremely light, but super filling. The carne asada plate, so far, is my favorite item on the menu. Meat is dreamy & cooked to perfection. Tortillas are like a warm fresh hug for your palette. Honestly though, I don't think you can go wrong with anything. The desserts are some of the best in the game. Sorbet flight is the move. Guava, passion fruit, & lime. It's the perfect refreshing end to such a flavorful meal. I love anything guava & I've never had a better guava sorbet. Slowly working my way through the menu because it's way too good to only go a few times!!!!

I brought my family here recently for lunch while we were on Vacation in San Diego. We should have picked anywhere else. The food was decent and so was the decor, but the service was terrible. There was a girl with red hair, I think her name was Chrysta (she wouldnt give it to me so I had to ask a different employee) that we heard making racist remarks as English is not some some members of my families first language. Absolutely unacceptable. This place could be a great spot in downtown for casual Mexican food, but they seriously need to reconsider who they hire and get rid of that Chrysta girl asap. So disgusting.

Went yesterday (Thursday.) Ordered a beer and margarita with our food. Ten minutes went by, no drinks. I asked our server and he went to check. Still nothing. FOOD CAME OUT BEFORE our drinks! Red flag/fail. I told the server forget about the drinks at this point bc we wanted to enjoy them before our food. He did end up bringing the drinks and comped us for them which was nice. But still that is something they need to work on as it took 15-20 mins to get a draft beer kind of wild. California burrito was good, I enjoyed it. Beans were almost like chili, they were good. My wife got nachos which she said were good but I personally didn't like the flavors. At the end, we got our check back but my card was not returned so I had to wait another 5+ minutes, no sign of the server. But then one of the hosts found him and it was in his pocket. Realistically I'd give it 3 stars but the comped drinks to rectify the major mishap earned a star back. May try again

Updating my review after my recent visit. Since they've been open a bit longer now, they got it together and the chips are on point! Crispy, seasoned, and authentic. This time, we ordered the guacamole and it came with a huge portion of avocado and then a plate of adorable mix ins, including cheese, jalapeños, cilantro, red onions, tomatoes, limes, and pork rinds. This was fun and everyone could make their own portion to their liking! Carne asada tacos and California burrito were huge and loaded with fillings. The side of rice and beans were great as well. Staff is very friendly and service is great. We also sat outside this time and it is great for people watching on 5th Ave. the street is also closed here which is nice that there are no cars passing close by, only pedestrians.

When we noticed the people seated next to us returning their food, we should have taken it as a sign and left. While the ambiance at Hasta Mañana Cantina is appealing, the food and service fell short. The dishes were overwhelming, with too many toppings that detracted from the actual flavors. We tried the surf and turf tacos, fish tacos, and a chicken quesadilla. Unfortunately, the quesadilla made my friend feel sick. The tacos were okay, but the excessive toppings masked the taste of the meat.On a positive note, the manager did make an effort to rectify the situation by removing the quesadilla from our bill and going above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. However, the overall experience just didn't meet our expectations. The ambiance is there, but they need to improve both their food and service.

The name of this new restaurant is pretty catchy and I was impressed by the customer service. As we walked by we were given a warm welcome by the hostess and another staff member. As you walk in, it opens up to a large square bar in the middle and seating around the perimeter, which is pretty standard for gaslamp bars. There is also is another room at the back which would be a good spot for private parties. I also liked the ambiance here, a hip vibe with some interesting art. To continue the great customer service, we were quickly greeted by 2 bartenders and after ordering our drinks, they arrived quickly. We ordered the Going back to Mexicali and Carajillo - both tasty and decently priced for gaslamp ($15 and $14 respectively). While we didn't have much time to hang out here, I enjoyed it and would like to come back for their happy hour (M-F 3-6pm).

"See You Tomorrow" Cantina took over this corner space in the Gaslamp Quarter when the former longtime tenant decided to move two suites northward on Fifth Ave. The interior was spruced up with neon coloring and patterns to make it look more upscale. There was at least one convention happening in downtown during my visit as quite a few customers had a lanyard badge around their neck. It's always good to see this area buzzing on what is normally a slow weeknight. The menu had a focus on Baja coastal cuisine, however the copy I received seemed incomplete. The online version had an Entrées section that listed six items. It was missing from the sheet which probably meant the kitchen wasn't ready to serve the entrées yet because the place has been open for less than one week. Appetizers, soups/salads, taco plates, and more were the categories. My initial plan was to order an appetizer and a taco plate, but my server said the plates were large as they included two tacos (or a burrito) plus achiote rice and slow cooked beans. I heeded his advice and picked the Flautas de Tres Carnes. Amarillo pork, rojo beef, and verde chicken were stuffed inside a flour tortilla and deep fried. There were four pieces that were stacked and topped with lime crema, salsa fresca, guacamole, chicharron, cotija, and pickled onions. Not only was this item packed with flavor, but it filled me up by itself.I did want to try something else so I saved one of the flautas to take home and asked for a cup of Pozole Verde with rojo beef added. The green broth was laced with anaheim and serrano chiles, hominy, cilantro, chipotle, and crispy shallots. Cabbage shreds, oregano, and red chili flakes were provided on the side as additional toppings. I probably didn't need the beef as the soup had plenty of seasoning even without the oregano and chili flakes. The spiciness was quite mild.At the other tables, the common theme I noticed was a lot of food on the plate. They don't seem to skimp on the serving sizes at Hasta Mañana Cantina so the prices appear to be justified. For a new, mid-level Mexican restaurant, my dining experience was satisfactory enough to earn four stars.

My new favorite Mexican restaurant in San Diego!I attended one of the opening celebrations, and had a great time. The restaurant space is beautiful. It's vibrant and modern. I love that this is a block from the Gaslamp sign, in a bustling part of downtown.I had the bean & cheese burrito, and it was to die for! My friend and I are still talking about it.The server was so friendly. I apologize for not remembering his name. He helped us decide which items to order and gave excellent service.

This is the latest and greatest Cantina to open up in the gaslamp district in downtown San Diego. Parking can be a little difficult in the area, so try to pre-plan that as best you can. Right when you walk up, there is a host to greet you so you can tell them how many people are in your party or if you want to go up to the bar you can. Upon entering the restaurant, it is wide-open with lots of room, a large bar, right in the middle of the restaurant, lots of TV screens, fun, music, and great vibes all around. They have an incredible take on food here and their drinks are absolutely delicious. Their bartenders are really fun, and it makes the drinks even more enjoyable. I can't stress on how delicious their chicken wings are and flautas.!!!

Hasta Manana had excellent reviews so I thought I would give them a try. They are super close to Petco Park, so it was an easy walk over. Once entered in to the brightly lit establishment, the first thing I noticed was how bone chilling cold it was. It was a cooler summer evening in the Gaslamp District and didn't really warrant the frigid constant breeze. I ordered a margarita and it was good, but came with one of those dehydrated lime wheels that lend nothing to the drink. Bars use them because they are cheap. I asked the bartender for the gazpacho to start and my was it lip smacking delicious. I finished every drop and would have licked the bottom of the cup, if people weren't around. The issue here was stale inedible tortilla chips. They should have never gone out. My main dish was the fried whitefish tacos that were mushy and didn't have much flavor. A really big portion, but what does that matter if they don't go down well? The accompanying rice and beans were terrible. The rice was dry and like eating styrofoam pellets. The beans flavor was that of dishwater. I pushed the food away, the bartender never asked about the meal and I just got the feeling the employees just wanted to go home. I'll try a different Mexican spot next time.
