Grove Grinder

The fact that I've lived less than a few miles away from Grove Grinder and just now discovering them is a real shame. Think if Jersey Mike's had better quality sandwiches, cheaper prices, larger portions AND an enormous root beer selection; that's what you get at Grove Grinder. The nostalgic, mom & pop, hole-in-the-wall shop gives vibes that you cannot find anywhere other than Grove Grinder and maybe Franconia, New Hampshire. The service is typically done by small team of people who are friendly, quick, and have great recommendations. Getting a giant grinder for $11 is unreal nowadays. Last week I got their roast beef grinder and that was under $15 and it comes with three portions!Definitely will become one of my go-to spots. 11/10 HIGHLY recommend!

Solid sandwiches. Good service. Did not appreciate that they were playing two different channels of the same comercial for the hour that I was sitting there. Tried to sneakily turn off the volume but could not find buttons.Otherwise good food and fun selection of root beers.

I drive by this spot pretty frequently. Little building tucked off the Main Street. Old school spot probably use to be a house. A great selection of bottle sodas and place definitely is a spot for regulars as it seems they expect you to already know everything about their sandwiches which is kind of off putting. Inside is small with a few tables; fits maybe 12 comfortably. I went with a pastrami Sandwich and the slices were tasty but you don't get a whole lot of meat, the bread is probably the best part of the sandwich as it's soft fluffy and not to dense. Chips, drink, while sandwich ran me $17.50. Overall a great spot with a home feel. Just maybe can up the customer service.

Just moved nearby and heard great things of this little family owned sandwich shop . I ordered by phone and picked up about 30 minutes later . They were pretty busy inside when I arrived . Friendly service and very delicious sandwiches with generous portions .

This place is a hidden gem. We got the godfather and the meatball sub. They were phenomenal!!! Large portions. The taste was high quality. It was very Reasonably priced. We loved the inside, Nice family vibe. The staff were friendly, it Looks like a family run business and they are training their youngsters staff/family members on the register they were very attentive and kind. 10/10

Are you kidding me ?! How could I have lived in San Diego my ENTIRE life and have never eaten a hoagie from here ?! It's like a little-hole-in-the-wall slice of sandwich heaven !!! I'm going to regret writing this review because I secretly want to keep this place all to my self !! Grove Grinder has been on my "places to grab a hoagie" bucket list for quite some time-- and now that it's literally in my backyard, I knew it was a sign . I was deathly craving carbs today and decided to give in and grab a full Ann's Special based upon everyone's highly rated reviews here on yelp-- and boy, did it pleasure every salivary gland in my mouth and I was only able to eat a quarter of it cause this hoagie was MASSIVE . (I'm talking the hoagie of all hoagies lol) . The Ann Special comes with all the salty and savory fresh meats such as ham, pastrami, roast beef, and salami -- I got mine on wheat bread that was newly baked and bouncy, along with provolone cheese and THE WORKS -- loveee the pepperoncinis !! Don't forget to ask for mayo and mustard which is available upon request only . I wish I can meet Ann in person and thank her for creating this glorious mound of a sandwich--This sandwich satisfied every nerve in my body that I could've died happy . What type of monster would I be if I didn't get chips ?! Salt and Vinegar is by far superior to any other chip flavor . Don't at me . AND don't let me forget about the pickle that comes with the sandwich -- WOW . I don't know what it is about deli pickles, but this one was a garlicky vinegary addicting bite ! I wish it came with an extra double set ! Customer service was nice and quick-- ordered my sandwich with no olives and onions with ease ! Not sure if I had the owners here today, but they were great . Parking is okay, it's located in a busy plaza, so traffic is nonstop here . All in all, Grove Grinder is one of my newest go-tos if I'm craving a hoagie from now on . You're welcome for not gate keeping .

Burritos are good. Tacos are great. But sometimes you just want an old-fashioned sandwich. Grove Grinder is the definition of a neighborhood joint. You're not gonna get white truffle aioli jus or pink peppercorn balsamic reductions here. It's mayo and mustard. Sometimes that's all you need. They have a collection of hot and cold sandwiches, with everything from Italian sausages to home made meatballs. Pastrami? You got it. Roast beef? Sure thing. Scratch cooked chili? No doubt. They're also known for a large assortment of bottled sodas you won't find at many places. Feel free to try out an exotic root beer while you're browsing torpedos. The sandwiches are big, simple, and tasty. What more could you ask for?

Food was delicious! I got a full turkey on provolone and added bacon, with the works. Each half is a good 6 inches long and piled high! The toppings are abundant and it was super fast preparation. The inside of the deli has a seating area with a bunch of antiques on display. Fun ambience, and the service was quick!

This place is a Lemon Grove Classic!When you walk in you feel like you have stepped into a time machine! So much old vintage decor!The selection of sandwiches is just right many to choose from but not too many! A little secret if you just ask they can make pretty much anything (locals only)One of the best things about this place is the library of non alcoholic beers! From ginger beer to root beer they have all the unique flavors and brands! Choose wisely

Turkey and the James sandwich was outstanding as well a huge. Definitely will be back.
