Gluten Freedom Baking Company

My husband loves this bakery! He has a gluten allergy and this is the only gluten free bread he eats. He gets the rosemary sourdough loaf from the Little Italy farmers market. It comes pre sliced so it's easy to freeze and take a slice at a time. Although I'm not gluten free, I think the rosemary sourdough is outstanding and comparable to gluten bread. I love that the bread doesn't have a lot of other common allergens like corn and soy. Sometimes we'll get the cinnamon bread too and freeze it. It smells so amazing when toasted. We live in La Jolla so it's a bit of a trip to go to Little Italy and find parking for the market to pick up this bread, but it's worth it. I wish they sold in more places. Highly recommend!

Purchased some muffins here form the Little Italy Farmer's market. They were blue berry. The actual muffin was good but the topping on the muffin was not great- something wrong happening up top. The bottom was great though. Plan to try other products soon.

So the pancake mix is the BEST whether gluten free or not. Texture is like regular pancakes light and fluffy. There is a sweetness in the mix I can't put my finger in but it truly makes the recipe. One package will make quite a few pancakes. I keep coming back for the biscuits as I am addicted to them!!!

Just back from the Gluten Freedom pop up taste tent in Mira Mesa. I bought the berry pie, Almost rye rustic loaf, and 3 pack of everything bagels. The almost rye really does taste like rye and the texture is perfect-just like an artisan bread. I had a slice when I came home slathered with butter and it was heaven. The rustic Italian had beautiful texture but I like a more robust flavor so I did not buy that one. The sourdough I found too doughy. The everything bagels got the texture and flavor exactly right. Proper bagels are boiled before baked so they are dense inside and these are exactly as they should be. The pies and scones were not available for sampling. The cinnamon buns have the flavor right but the texture wasn't right for me-too dry. The muffins were moist and flavorful-we tried the blueberry and if I was a muffin person, I would have swooned but I'm a savory person in the AM so did not buy. Maybe next time.

Wonderful bread, amazing cinnamon rolls and a delicious Oatmeal Raison cookie! All gluten free! I would highly recommend you try their products! The bread was light and fluffy and you wouldn't even know that it was Gluten free!The service was friendly and helpful too.I tried their products at the San Diego Farmers Market, Saturday in Little Italy.

Not open location to the public. Not sure how the products taste as I was unable to purchase when I arrived. They have farmers markets to buy on the weekends. Call ahead of time.
