2 words... garbage truck!Worst breakfast burrito ever, was dripping oil, mostly soggy egg, salty rock hard chips, and just gross. $8 down the drain, or should I say garbage disposal.Out of all the food trucks parked, they were the only Mexican food truck I saw. Since I wanted a burrito, I decided to check this truck out and give them a try. After looking at the food options, I decided to go with the special. (Breakfast burrito). They guy at the window was on his phone, and when I asked what came on the breakfast burrito he rolled his eyes, as if I should know what came on the burrito. Irritated by me interrupting his text message, he continued typing while saying fries, cheese and pico. I thought to myself, what kind of breakfast burrito is that. So I said, that's it? Another guy popped out the window next to him and said the breakfast burrito has egg, chorizo, fries, cheese, and pico. I appreciated him helping me out since clearly the other guy didn't care. So ordered the breakfast burrito without pico. Couple minutes later he handed me my burrito on a plate with hard greasy, salty chips. Yuck! I thought I'd have better luck with the burrito. Wrong, it was the worst burrito I've tried. And I've had many burritos. First of all, the burrito did not have any fries or any form of potato. Second there was maybe one spoonful of chorizo, hardly anything. Most of the burrito was watery with grease/oil, soggy eggs and cheese. Just out right gross. Couldn't stomach but a few bites, and tossed it all away. Says a lot, because I was hungry. Never again!

Unfortunately Frida's Cocina is the only vendor from our 10/22/16 wedding that we can't wholeheartedly recommend...First, the positives:*The on-site staff was super friendly & efficient! *The food that they provided was delicious. But, the negatives:*Poor communication/seriously delayed response time. We met Frida's for a tasting and emailed them the same day to request a contract for our wedding... it was several WEEKS later that we received a response with paperwork. During this time we called and emailed several times to make sure they received our message and our date was reserved. (No response.) We were literally one day away from booking another vendor when they replied, very apologetically, and confirmed everything was set with our date and menu. We were ultimately glad to receive this confirmation, as we really wanted to have them cater our wedding, but having to wait so long made the process much more stressful than it needed to be!*The incorrect menu was provided at the event. Several items (two appetizers and one taco option) were omitted and one taco option was substituted, without any notice. We followed up with them after the event and they replied, apologizing for the errors on the menu and offering a 10% refund for this issue. We felt this was a fair/appropriate way to rectify the discrepancies in the menu. However, we never received the refund check. (And yes, we provided the correct address & have followed up with several polite emails over the past few months!) Christian, if you read this, we hope you'll still follow through with this offer.Overall, the food that was available was delicious and we were glad to have some awesome tacos at our wedding. We can see why they have plenty of good reviews, and we want to be able to recommend them as well. However, we felt the delayed communication in trying to receive the contract, the discrepancies between what was contracted and what was provided on the menu and the lack of follow through on the offered refund are fairly unprofessional.

Great food. HORRIBLE service. AN HOUR and HALF late from said arrival time. They were busy at another party. I booked months in advance upon a referral. Owner texted that they'd be late and ready upon arrival. Guests ended up waiting 30 minutes for food to get prepped upon arrival.Menu items not on display. No drinks shown for guests. NONE. I had to ask if there were drinks for guests. Remember, Frida's Cocina arrived late. The venue I'd booked couldn't stay open late. I'd booked Frida's so our party would end at the same time as my contract ended with Frida's. There were leftovers. I told Frida's Cocina owner to load my car with leftovers while I entertained guests and bid farewells. I specified what we'd like just in case there was confusion....chips, rice, beans, meats, drinks. I was told they have no containers for leftovers. They didn't have containers for leftovers!! And not one can of soda was packed in my car. We received three or four plates of food and a clean trash bag of chips.I texted owner a few hours after event and contacted the business that referred Frida's Cocina. The business that referred Frida's had no luck in getting Frida's to contact me, refund me, or call me. I had to contact Frida's A SECOND TIME for refund. They blamed me for not getting in contact with them sooner. Owner Elsa said that she'd never experienced this before. She didn't know what to do. She said she was sad. She suggested making it up by having them pay for another party. ???? I told her I didn't want to use her business since they didn't fulfill their contract with the first time I hired them. I suggested they refund me. She didn't know how to do that. She couldn't find our bill. Elsa interrogated me about not handling this situation at the party so I let her know that I'm not the kind of person to cause a scene in front of guests. I found this unprofessional on so many levels. She, as the business owner, shouldn't want a client to make a scene. I was actually surprised she'd want a client to cause a commotion over her business right in front of other guests. They ended up refunding us part of the tip my husband left them. Yes, my fault for not telling my husband NO TIP. We were at a party entertaining our guests and bidding farewells each busy trying to get out of the venue on time, to which Frida's Cocina arrived late. I do not suggest using Frida's Cocina.

I'm really bummed that I'm leaving such a low star review. I manage the food truck schedule here at my office building and every week we have a different food truck out here. I have been working with Frida's food truck for about 6 months now. The first few times they were out here it was wonderful! But unfortunately the service has gone extremely downhill and we have actually had to stop using them.Pros: I loved the high energy customer service they bring! They really are extremely friendly and great with engaging with customers I was obsessed with the spicy shrimp tacos and all of their salsas. I also love that they have complimentary chips/salsa while you wait in line. The food always came out very quickly. Cons: Food is VERY greasy. We actually got quite afew complaints from our employees that whenever they ordered a taco it was just dripping with oil and you can actually taste the oil. They are not reliable what so ever. We have had them cancel on us multiple times, one time without even giving us notice, and another time only giving us a 2 hour notice. Not to mention one time showed up 45 minutes late (when our serving time is only 2 hours). Management seems a little unorganized with their schedule and can sometime be hard to get a response. They don't seem to take their business seriously or make the effort. There is ALOT of competition when it comes to taco trucks....there is quite a selection to choose from so this is a really concerning issue. Everyone is very sweet and friendly but when it comes to event planning.....having a reliable reputation is a must. I hope that they can take this feedback as a helping tool to improve their business. There is definitely some potential here.

My brother in law had Frida's Cocina Food Truck cater his birthday party! It was delicious and the service was amazing! I love how it's a family ran business and their daughter was helping out. Our guests had a blast and were so in awe. They had tacos (beef, chicken and fish), beans, rice, chips, sodas and even brought flan and churros!! Would definitely use them again and recommend!

My kids school hosted a Spring Fling carnival yesterday and Frida's Cocina was one of the food trucks there. I ordered the special two tacos with chips for $8. I choose the carne asada tacos. It was late afternoon and they weren't busy yet so I got my order really fast. My paper boat only had the tacos so I filled it up with the tortilla chips that were on the table. The salsas for dipping came in big bottles and I filled two of the tiny cups with the red salsa. The tacos were sooo good!!! The meat was so tender and perfectly seasoned. I usually put hot sauce on my tacos but I didn't put anything on this time for two reasons: 1. the tacos were perfect the way they were 2. The red sauce was actually pretty nasty... bitter and spicy.I hope to see this food truck around again... I would like to try all the other items they have. I wanted to order more yesterday but we had to go and the line had gotten so long by the time we left at 6 p.m.

How can you be this organized? You write down a name and then you write down what the person ordered and yet, you're still calling out the wrong names and forgetting orders. Once we finally received the food the quality was subpar for San Diego standards. Greasy, lowest quality meat. If you're considering hiring this food truck for your event I'd definitely give them a pass. Even if they don't mess up the food is completely uninspiring.

Went for the first time on a late Tuesday, not aware it's taco Tuesday. The line was out the door 45 minutes later we make it inside. Two lines one to order on the left and pick up and drinks on the right side. I sent my husband to the order line as I stayed in the pick up line, thank goodness I stayed. when he came with the ticket the cashier handed him his receipt and said ok go wait back at the end of the line to pick up your food that would have been another 45 min. In line again. So stupid how hard is it to have a sign that says order first inside then wait in line to pick up. The only reason we would go back is taco tasted good. Just trying to save people some frustration.
