A friend and I went here in hopes of going to Seafood City to pick up some groceries and we were immediately drawn in by the name and the variety of different desserts they had. We unknowingly came around 15 minutes before they were about to close and the staff were so very kind and still allowed us to enter and look around. Although a little small inside of the store, it was very well kept and tidy. There were desserts that were wrapped up and very neatly arranged. We decided to purchase some puto which was really tasty. Parking at this establishment is also very easy to findOverall, if you are in the area I would highly recommend that you go and get some of the desserts at this establishment. Even if you have never had Filipino Desserts, I would highly recommend getting some from this establishment.

The main reason why I come here is for the veggie lumpia. It's freshly fried, perfectly seasoned, and packed with ingredients. The price is nice too. Sadly not too many places make veggie lumpia anymore. Most places just do lumpia shanghai. Thank you Filipino Desserts Plus for satisfying my veggie lumpia craving!

After lunch, I stopped by here with my dad and boyfriend. We purchased the Leche Flan ($10) and Turon (5 pieces for $4.25).The Turon was really good. For those who do not know what it is, it's plantains wrapped in wonton skin in the shape of an egg roll, deep fried, and coated with a sugary syrup. The syrup, once dried, gives it an extra crunch. The plantains were unseasoned, so paired with the crispy sugar coating, it was a nice balance in sweetness. The Leche Flan was notably the worst flan we've ever tasted. The texture was grainy and very dense, as opposed to a light, soft, creamy, and silky texture that I would expect from a flan. I also found it odd that they listed yellow food coloring as one of the ingredients. I've made flan before, but have never used food coloring. The pale yellow is the preferred color that you naturally get from egg yolks, so there's no need to add artificial food color! Packaging was sticky and when I asked for a napkin, they just looked at me. I don't think they were necessarily rude, but perhaps there was a language barrier. I had wet wipes in my car so it wasn't the end of the world. This was a small to-go dessert place. They used every inch of it to showcase various desserts for sale. They also had a station where they had hot foods in trays and you could order traditional Filipino dishes such as adobo, pancit, lumpia, etc.My rating of only 2 stars was the result of the really bad flan.

6/15/24 - driving through National City I had to stop at my favorite spots. I grabbed several items for myself a group of friends in the way back home, about $70 later, here are the goods. I hot several other places on the way home for snacks, an expensive day. No line inside, I had to wait for about 10 minutes for 50 pork lumpia, I paid and extra $1 for the extra sweet and sour sauce. Bought small pancits and 3 Ukoy shrimp aka sometimes called a bird nest with the standard vinegar. All were good. Also, one of my desserts was sapin-sapin, the colorful layered rice. See photos.

You discovered Filipino Desserts Plus while exploring this plaza. I picked up sone tasty treats to try: halo halo, ginataan bilo-bilo, cassava suman, and ube biko. Halo Halo gad potential. I watched the lady use the ice crushing machine to pack the crushed ice on top of my halo halo, so I was so surprised that the crushed ice on top hardened into a big ball of ice. I couldn't break it with a straw or with a plastic spoon. I ended up removing the big ball of ice to eat the halo halo. In all my years of enjoying halo halo, this is the 1st time I've had an issue with ice. So weird. -1I thoroughly enjoyed the ginataan bilo-bilo and ube biko. Perfect textures and flavors but just a tad too sweet for me. The cassava suman was freshly made, warm and sooo good. +3Customer service was excellent. The lady was quick to answer questions and friendly. +1Parking is ample since the parking lot is large. +1

POSITIVES:-Desserts: Tasty and delicious-Customer Service: SuperbLocation: Parking availability is good-Prices: Very fairNEGATIVES:-Cooked food like the pre-packed palabok and other pre-packed items are not refrigerated (scary)- They sit on the counter from the time the store opens until it closes-The aroz caldo, goto, etc do not have the correct holding temperatureLast week, towards the end of the day, the lady was pushing me and other people to buy the palabok for 1 buy and get the other free or half the price. She was also offering us the same deal with the aroz caldo and goto.I bought 1 palabok, asked her to microwave it and went to my car and took 2 bites and it was very sour and the sauce was bubling (nasty, nasty).Today, 7/13/23, I went back to the store and spoke with Gema, the manager and I explained to her the situation. I pointed out items that needs whole day refrigeration specially the palabok. I told her that they are exposing people to risk of food poisoning due to improper handling of food which included required holding temperatures for both hot and cold items. I told her that I know they make a lot of money and that they have to be super careful because they may face legal problems if someone gets sick or even die due to their negligence.I notice (and it is my biggest concern) that almost all Filipino food places, their pre-packed foods are not refrigerated nor properly warmed specially the palabok (which is my favorite). It is very scary! To the public who frequently dine out or buy pre-cooked food, always keep the Health Department's phone number (every city you visit) in your phone so that you can report unacceptable events you see in a food establishment instantly. I recommend not to argue nor be confrontational. Just maintain your business-like demeanor. Afterall, that is all that you are doing in business establishment: doing business. Nothing personal. It is not to harm or destroy other business, but to ensure that they stay longer in business by not getting sued due to their negligence. And most importantly, that the public (consumers) like you, your children, your parents and the likes of me are safe from the dangers of food borne illnesses.

Came here while on vacation. We went the morning before our flight home. We went at 8 am, right at opening. The lady working seemed busy and occupied. I stood waiting to pay for my items while she continued to labelItems. I got the mixed dessert tray and the biko ube. My mom got some spaghetti and other desserts. I was super excited to try their desserts, especially SAPIN sapin , but I wasn't that big of a fan. The mix tray tasted all the same to me. The plus sides are its super fresh and a big variety.

This store is giving away spoiled food to the customer. If it's not good anymore why would you even bother to offer. Throw it away yourself. Customers can get food poisoning. Please be considerate. I'm a Filipino and my husband who is not, bought and brought home pancit Palabok and a free pancit bihon which were both spoiled. I'm not trying to get any freebies. Aside from the fact that customers might get sick.... This is just NAKAKAHIYA!!!
