Why'd it take me so long to step into this spot? In all honesty, I have no idea. I go to enough Padre games and I'm always in the spirit for a bit of a pre-party so I have no excuse. That being said, I'll be frequenting El Puerto much more often. The chips and salsa are quick to hit the table all while sipping on a nice cold cocktail. The ordering process is fast casual allowing you to step up to the counter when you're feeling good and ready to fill your belly. The food here is what you expect when it comes to Mexican seafood. Fish tacos are an obvious choice but during this visit my friends and I opted for some oysters, "prepared." What is prepared? A shucked oyster on the half shell dressed up with some hot sauce, cucumber, and topped off with a fatty shrimp. Each oyster is prepared the same and this ends up being quite a bit of food. We dove into two dozen with our group of five and we were more than satisfied. The staff is super friendly, the prices are decent, and you can't beat the location. So, headed to a ballgame? Hit El Puerto before heading in for a Padre win!

Searched Yelp for a recommendation close to petco park pre padre game to grab a more affordable bite. The tacos stood out as did the beer bar just right to pregame. Fish tacos, shrimp tacos, octopus tacos and smoked fish tacos lots of beers on tap and bottled and canned. The service was nice as were the table side chips and salsa. The salsas were very tasty. That house chip salsa and the green taco salsa and chipotle cream were tasty. Hit the spot. Too bad the padres couldn't pull out a win that would've hit the spot too.

Wednesday burrito special for $9+. Their Surf n turf burrito slaps. I got it with diabla sauce instead of chipotle. Side of beans was ok - I wouldn't get it again. Their tortilla chips taste like fish - it's most likely fried in the same oil and it grossed me out. The service is friendly and their set up is nice.

Love the Machado Fish Burrito (fried). So delicious with all three hot sauces. Wifey had two Surf and Turf Tacos. Free nacho chips that come with a creamy salsa that has a nice kick. Go before the Padres game. It's so chill here. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Overall great place to stop for a quick bite! Everything is great quality, and service is fast.Food: loved the burritos we got, el gobernador and la Diabla. Please note that their la diabla is very spicy!! Make sure to get a side of sour cream. Salsas and sauces here are so good. I also really recommend their smoked tuna fries. Everything here was delicious.Service: fast and very friendly. So nice that they give you chips and salsa while you wait!!Atmosphere: lots of screens to watch the game, a more casual sports bar spot for a quick bite. Lots of seating inside and in the patio. Street park here or you would need to garage park your car.

Stopped by after the game to grab some food and drinks and it was a 10/10! The food was delicious and came out fast, the michelada I had was great and so were the Mexican candy shots. Nice spot to come to before or after the game or if you are in the area. All the staff was super sweet!

Tried this place on taco Tuesday. I was expecting more taco specials, but their only special is a fried fish taco for $2.55 plus tax. Everything else is regular price. I tried the fried fish taco and the Machado fish taco. The fried fish was pretty good. I wasn't a fan of the Machado and it was a little spicy. The tortillas were not my favorite. We also ordered chips and guacamole, which was good and came with a decent portion. I didn't realize that you could get a refill on chips until we were done. We had extra guac and salsa left over when we ran out of chips. Regular taco prices were on the expensive side, in my opinion. Ambiance is nice and they have indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of TVs and right across from petco park. Definitely would be a fun spot on game days, but likely busy. They have a full bar as well.

New year and new place to visit before padre games as usual "go to place" closed down. Looks like neat place to have beer and food before the game. I ordered the Baja Shrimp burrito .I thought it would have been a lot better as the shrimp to cabbage ratio was off- just not enough shrimp. Wife ordered Rolled Potato Tacos with guacamole and said her food was fine. Daughter ordered a bean burrito with cheese. She didn't like the cheese in at as it was grilled. Overall decent experience as I'm sure I will be back before a Padre game as I enjoy eating and getting a beer before the game. The bar looked inviting. Service was quick and attentive.

Pretty disappointed with our meal today. Came in before the padres game for some dinner. Ordered the ceviche sampler and a fish burrito. I feel like half the chips they served were stale. The ceviche had no taste to it. Like they forgot to put salt and lime. The fish burrito was ok but again a bit bland. I've had better seafood burritos at Rubio's. Seafood was definitely fresh and the service was good and nice ambiance but I'm surprised this place has 4.5 stars.
