Dos Palmas Cafe

Tried: Mexican mocha, Turkey Pesto Panini, Turkey Chipotle PaniniLives up to the reviews! I'm a skeptic at heart but really wanted to give Dos Palmas a try after seeing the great rating (my friend who lives nearby also recommended it). I was interested in the Mexican Mocha but was persuaded into coming for the paninis - and I couldn't be happier.The Mexican mochas are definitely on the sweet side for me (I usually go for about 25% sugar in drinks) but it was absolutely delicious and tasted exactly how I imagined it would. I love Mexican hot chocolate, so would definitely recommend trying it if you do too! I tried both the Turkey Chipotle and the Turkey Pesto and they were both so good. I usually avoid chipotle as a flavor because a lot of the time it tends to taste artificial/not authentic, but this sauce was amazing, distinct, and had depth to it. It was smoky and had a real unctuous quality to it - it tasted like I was eating bacon without there actually being any bacon in the sandwich. I thought that the other ingredients really complimented it well. Both sandwiches were toasted the perfect amount and were warm and soft on the inside.We came in on a Wednesday for lunch to go and the owners/cashier were so friendly despite us being extremely indecisive about what to order. I loved the open air layout of the store and felt like it would've been a nice place to sit and eat. Also some super cool art inside!

True 5 StarsIsaia: Honestly this was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Not much to say about it other than that. The people seem to actually want to be there. Great little place. Danae: Where do I start... I don't live in this area but wish I did just for this place. We had an iced Mexican mocha and turkey chipotle panini and I was silenced. Literally my bf asked if something was wrong but I was so lost in the deliciousness. It felt like that scene from ratatouille when the flavors just go so well. I think about this place at least once a week.

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great food and coffee, with friendly service. I was in town for the weekend visiting some friends and I needed some early morning coffee and nosh. This place came highly recommended on Yelp so off I went. It had a nice local lived-in vibe, judging from the interaction between the barista and some regulars. I went with my customary Americano with cream (very good), and decided on the breakfast panini on sourdough, which is vegetarian by default. It was generously sized and delicious, with a nice crispy exterior. Their prices were reasonable, too. Definitely a worthwhile visit, and I'm sure not my last.

This place surprised me with how much outside seating they had, they had some on the front and on the side of the building which was covered from the sun which was really nice! You order and they start making it right away. I always like it when sandwich places have Miss Vickies chips because they're the best chips to go with a sandwich in my opinion. I was also surprised by how much I liked their iced caramel latte. The panini was well toasted and warm also. I'd come back here again!!

Now thiiiissss spot is frickin great. Cute. Small. Outdoor seating area. Simple menu but done right. Good drinks done well and made quickly. I got a dirty chair and it's probably one of the best ones I've had here in San Diego. The paninis they were chef'n smelled sooooo good but I had just eaten so I didn't get one but I'll definitely be back here to grab both coffee and breakfast

this is the kind of sandwich spot that there should be more of. great sandwiches for great prices. a small but curated menu. and a cute little patio to eat on. what more could you ask for?

Stopped by on my AM walk. Picked up a breakfast panini (on sourdough) to-go. Super tasty and fresh. Also a very good portion size. Came out of the kitchen very quickly as well. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the atmosphere but I did like the quiet outside tables. Sorry I've missed trying this place after living in the area for so many years.

not a Mexican restaurant. No Mexican food --even though it probably came up on your Google search as a Mexican restaurant. I had an OK breakfast sandwich. But I don't plan to return

Love in the neighborhood and had never been! Came today and had a great breakfast panini and iced americano. New girl at the register who was learning and she was very friendly love the outdoor patio and cute vibes

This place has it all! Great atmosphere! Awesome coffee! And literally THE BEST paninis! Come by this cafe and you will not regret it. Thank me later! (Picture does not do the food justice!)
