Cotijas Mexican Grill

Stop in every Monday on the way to work. Consistently good burritos and a well stocked salsa bar. Always super quick turnaround, have my food within a couple minutes. One of my favorite Mexican joints in San Diego.

Went through the drive thru. They probably misheard or didn't hear everything but parts of my order were missing. I was so surprised about the price being so cheap lol only to realize once I got home that they didn't give me everything I ordered. Welp. Food is good. Not my go to taco shop though.

3.5/5As one of the only nearby mexican food places in the area, I think it's decent. I've tried a variety of their options to say that it isn't the worst. Their carne asada is a little dry from time to time but it's alright. This time I ordered carne asada nachos which were about $15 for a good amount of food. But, if you came to SD to try mexican food, I wouldn't go to Cotijas.

I used to love coming here when I was in high school at Mt. Carmel. Maybe it was my cast iron stomach or just not having a care in the world but the food since then is middle of the pack at best. The hot sauces provided are half frozen and the only decent thing I have had recently is the hash brown burrito.

This is always a good choice when you're not sure what to get for dinner. After a sweaty workout and little food at home, I went over to Cotija's and conveniently, they have a drive thru! I got a carne asada CA burrito $11.79 and shrimp burrito $11.99. Small wait at the window but totally expected since they're making your order hot and fresh. Service is prompt. There is size difference with CA burrito being bigger. The shrimp burrito was delicious, perfectly grilled (lots of sauce). They include napkins and ask if you want red or green salsa.

Good little taco shop along the street but hidden from view of the strip mall. Located right around the donut shop! Only taco shop I'm familiar with in the PQ main area. 3.5 stars if half stars were an option! Good normal selection of meat and seafood options! Our fav is the carne asada fries and at this shop it comes with beans and salsa fresca which is a usually get in the side! Drive thru seems to be the main method for customers. Usually 2-5 tables occupied inside which I can see from outside while I'm going through the drive through with 3-8 cars deep!

Ordered a vegetarian burrito with more rice than beans and that wasn't what I got. I wish that it was made to order there was so much beans in it, it was coming out from the bottom of the burrito. It was mediocre burrito could have been so much better if the cook would have just listened to what the customer wanted..

i am so happy that cotija's exists! it's so convenient because of their drive thru which gives it its own ambiance!!! they have so many options to choose from, even as a vegetarian, which makes me and my family happy! they always ask if i want extra salsa so obviously super happy with the drive thru service from the employees

I am a regular customer for 5 years and I have never experienced worst food from here until today on 9-5-24. The lady we got in the drive thru had a blue rose tattoo and was extremely rude and didn't even acknowledge my question or request. I am not one to complain or leave reviews but man was this bad! The burritos were cold, the green salsa was so watery and had zero flavor... the French fries were the worst! It was small crumb pieces that I received in my order. Do not drive off before checking your food bags to make sure everything looks okay. I made that mistake and I won't be making it again!

Order accuracy is always an issue. On multiple orders for delivery they leave something out. And the service to make it right is poor.
