Cielo continues to be a great night out. This was my third time coming here. This time it was on a Friday night during comic con. The first two times were a Thursday night and Saturday night around 10pm and it wasn't packed. There are typically a couple of groups but enough space to grab a bite to eat or to get drinks fairly quickly. This time I went was a straight up party. I got in before 10pm for free entry via tickets on eventbrite. Entrance is basically a side entrance to a building. Before there wasn't any signs but now there's a small one that says Cielo Rooftop Lounge. You get your ID checked and walk up two flights of stairs and you turn left. This takes you to the balcony view of Mr Tiempo Cantina which occupies the bottom floors. From there you can grab the only elevator that takes forever or take another stairway which is located at the back, up another two flights of stairs. Once you're on the rooftop the skyline is decently visible. Max capacity is 159 and on this night it felt like there was a 100 and it didn't feel too claustrophobic. Maybe because it was open air and there's seating at the sides. So you can feel the energy but not necessarily be bumping into everyone and feel like you're packed in like sardines. Service is okay. Nothing to spectacular. It's decently priced too. Cocktails are about 15 bucks. I like it because it feels like an upscale place but it isn't priced or feels pretentious as one. There's not a strictly enforced dress code neither. Saw a couple of people dressed in the Sunday best and a few people with a crop top and sandals. Jeans and tennis are allowed. All in all... you get this nice mixture of people and vibes. I will continue to come here on slower nights and mix in party nights here and there.

First time visiting! The first impression was skeptical for how you have to navigate through the old movie theater, but the place is beautifully decorated. Definitely great music, good bites to eat and good drinks. We had a blast with people dancing and mingling and having fun. I liked the spacing and room for people to enjoy their company and beverages without having to be on their phone. Great service, the waiters and waitresses were super busy but I understand when you have a good place you'll be running around. Such a pleasure, I would definitely recommend! I would suggest you bring a group of friends & have a good time. Thank me later!

My recent visit to Cielo Rooftop Lounge left much to be desired. Despite making a reservation, the "open seating" arrangement confused matters, and the ambiance was marred by an unpleasant sewer odor. However, our server, Michelle, provided kind service. The presentation of my drink, which was supposed to be served in a coconut, fell short as it arrived in a cheap cup, hardly justifying its steep price tag of $20. Additionally, the shrimp egg rolls lacked flavor, and the edamame was drowned in soy sauce, detracting from its natural taste. To compound matters, the establishment failed to provide basic dining essentials; silverware and plates were never brought to our table. Consequently, we resorted to eating with our hands and using a napkin as a makeshift plate for disposing of edamame shells. While the venue boasts a cute aesthetic, the overall experience failed to live up to expectations. Consequently, my party promptly settled the bill and sought enjoyment elsewhere, finding solace and satisfaction at Techo Beso next door.

Neat place to hangout with friends and enjoy the SD skylinePros - great ambiance with cool vibrant decorations and a great view of the San Diego skyline. The drinks are very tasty here and the pathway you must take to get here provides a unique adventure. Live DJ band as well.Cons - the service can be a bit spotty especially during their busy times. Nice place for some day drinking if you are in no rush. Remember to bring your shades!

The rooftop of this place is absolutely stunning and perfect for snapping some Instagram-worthy photos. However, the service, particularly from the male bartender, could use some improvement. Perhaps he was just having an off day. We visited during their happy hour, which offered a fantastic deal of 50% off cocktails between 5pm-6pm. I'm not sure how long this deal will last or if it's still ongoing, as it's not mentioned on their website. Hopefully, they will continue with this offer because it was one of the best deals we found downtown.

I've been here several times and their vibe is great! Went here for salsa dancing class once and it was very much crowded, didn't have much room to dance though. However, we still had great time. For how busy it was, bartenders were fast at getting our drinks. There are elevators to get to the place for the part of it. But to get to the elevators, there are a lot of steps to go up and down. If that matters to you. Bathroom is downstairs back down to the elevator that is very slow... Overall, they have some good photo ops with some good music. It's not covered rooftop, so just remember that. Not much seating areas.

I was there on Sunday 9/1 maybe if this is monitored by the owners they can address these individuals.Downstairs restaurant/bar - vibe was cool, atmosphere was fun.Rooftop bar - really nice aesthetic. The rooftop was not crowded in any way shape or form, the two girls that were working The rooftop never acknowledged us the 20 minutes we were sitting up there seems like they were acting as bartender and server. After literally 20 minutes of sitting there no drinks no food not even being said hello by the two females, who literally walked by us, didn't say anything, we left downstairs. The bartender stopped us to ask us about our experience which we told him about. He told us he would make it up to us and served us right away. Give Uriel a raise please. This man understands customer service.Unfortunately, I will not be going back. Maybe the rooftop is better at night when people our partying and are already drunk and not caring about the actual service

Terrible food, drinks and service. The tortilla chips tasted stale and the guacamole was bitter. Then after asking for the check, they told us there was a MINIMUM. The entrance to this restaurant is also very confusing by making us walk through an entire run-down building filled with 4-5 staircases and confusing, easy to miss paper signs that direct you to the restaurant. Not to mention the liability of having drunk people needing to walk all this way with zero elevators.

Pros: - they did a 4th of July deal. $1 mexican candy shots - the fishbowl we ordered was delicious and they have a shot ferris wheel! - nice view - nice server - they have a photo booth Cons: - you have to walk through an abandoned movie theater which doesn't feel the safest or cleanest? - the bathrooms are on a different floor - they didn't have a DJ and the music was not bumping - the food was expensive and small
