Cheesy Amigos

Lobster, Spicy Mac with Bacon, Buffalo Chicken, Pulled Pork, Tri-Tip, Three Cheese. Those were our choices when my employer hired Cheesy Amigos to cater an employee appreciation lunch.Lance showed up with two panini presses and sandwiches ready to go. He would cook three sandwiches at a time in each press. When they had good grill marks and the cheese was all gooey, he'd remove them and cut them into halves or fourths. I liked the idea of the fourths, it enabled us to sample multiple sandwiches. I was able to sample all of the offerings as there was plenty of leftovers for all of us to take home. The air fryer resurrected them perfectly at home.Here are the sandwiches and their descriptions. I put them in the order of which I liked them and what some of my coworkers thought.*(1) Lobster: Langostino lobster tails, Oaxaca cheddar and sharp cheddar served on French bread layered with chipotle aioliThe lobster was my favorite. I love lobster so it had an edge on the others coming in. The two sharp cheddars were a great compliment to the sweet buttery lobster meat. The chipotle aioli added a hint of spice and the French bread was the perfect vehicle. Excellent.*(2) Buff. Chick: Sliced Buffalo chicken marinated in Franks Red Hot sauce with blue cheese and 3 pepper cheddar cheese on jalapeño cheddar breadA few coworkers said it was too much blue cheese. Impossible I say!Spicy Frank's marinated chicken, 3-pepper cheddar and jalapeno bread provided the heat. Blue cheese cooled it down. It was perfectly blue cheesy! Excellent.*(3) Spice Mac: Creamy macaroni & cheese smothered with 3 pepper cheddar and crispy Applewood smoked bacon served on jalapeño cheddar breadVery clever paring mac 'n cheese with a grilled cheese sandwich. The bacon delivered! Excellent.*(3) Pulled Pork: Marinated pulled pork with tangy vinegar BBQ sauce topped with cheddar cheese on French breadTied for 3rd with Spice Mac. The pork was delicious, the BBQ sauce was very good as well. Excellent. Here's an idea: Combine the two! Spice Mac with BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich!*(4) 3-Cheese: Blend of cheddar, provolone and mozzarella melted to perfection on French breadCheddar. Provolone. Mozzarella. That's all you really need to know. Excellent.*(5) Tri-Tip Bourbon marinated beef Tri Tip with steakhouse onion-aged cheddar and sharp cheddar cheese on French breadTo be fair, the Tri-Tip was #1 on a lot of coworker's lists. I thought it was really good. The beef was tender and cooked perfectly. I did find it a bit under-seasoned. I was in the minority. I heard one co-worker describe it as "Amazing!"While it may have been #5 on my list, it was still...excellent.Service from Lance was great. He was super friendly.This was a work event, but I would definitely entertain the idea of hiring Cheesy Amigos for a private event.

Lance did a great job for my mother in law's 70th birthday party. We had 30 people at a community park in Carlsbad. Lance arrived and set up early and was ready to go when people arrived. Everyone sampled all the different sandwiches-lobster, tri tip, fig and goat cheese, spice cheesy, applewood smoked bacon. All the sandwiches were delicious and the side salad was great as well. Lance was easy to work with and very communicative.

Had a great time with Lance today. He showed up on time... the food was flipping AMAZING and everyone loved the experience. We will def work with them again. Thanks so much!

Hired The Cheesy Amigos for a company lunch (35-45 people) & we had a great experience from the logistical coordination go the end of the luncheon. They have a great & efficient set up, along with great insight into what sandwiches will work best for a variety of people and dietary restrictions. Price was very fair as well for the experience & quality of the sandwiches. Will definitely use them again if we have the opportunity!

Cheesy Amigos just catered our block party. I can't say enough positive about Lance and Kyle. From the first phone call they were professional and reliable. They were also very flexible with us as we were on a budget and even with RSVPs, you never know how many people will show up.We only had them do the sandwiches, which were delicious, and easy to eat as most people stood up. We did our own salads on the side (from Costco) and they had no problem with that. I got lots of comments about how much everyone liked the food.I can't say enough positive comments about this company and will definitely book them again.

These guys really know how to make a toasty panini! SImple operation where sandwiches are freshly made, daily and then carried in their cart reefer, for toasting fresh to order. The quality of the bread is fantastic and the fillings are wonderful. I have visited them on two different occasions when they've been at ChuckAlek brewery in Ramona.The Grilled cheese sandwich has a wonderful combination of cheeses with just a little bit of pepper for zest. The Lobstah sandwich is divine, though the second time I had it and they reformulated with new cheeses and frankly, I prefer the original recipe (just like we all did with Coke). Hopefully, they too will see the folly of their ways and revert to the original recipe! The bacon and egg is unbelievably good, flavor unbelievably complex. It is now my favorite.Definitely get a couple of sandwiches. Tasty, good but not overly filling (a good thing), so you can get two with a friend and because they're served sliced in half, you can then mix 'n match and try two different sandwiches.Friendly folks!

Oh my gosh, what a party! We invited Lance over for catering after meeting him at a birthday party. We had about 25 adults over and he was well prepared. The sandwiches are amazing and all our guests were really impressed. His pace was great too! He showed up about an hour before the meal to set up and was funny and very respectful while getting ready. When it was time to eat everyone was satisfied and thanking us for having Lance over. His pricing was generous, the quality of his food was amazing and his service was excellent on top everything. I highly recommend Cheesy Amigos for your next event!!!

Their stuff is consistently fresh, inventive and delicious. Had their sandwiches recently at a special marketing event and at a brewery's trivia night -- and they knocked it out of the park both times. Didn't know until coming here that they catered!

BEST SANDWICHES EVER. I can't even describe how good they are, but yelp has a minimum character limit. Try them and you will see!

I found this foodie truck at the Sand Sculpture Exhibit over the Labor Day Weekend. What a good find!The Cheesy Amigos offer up cheesy sandwiches. I tried the Spicy Triple Cheese sandwich. They grill the sandwich panini style. Filled with yummy mac n cheese. They were making each sandwich as they were order so they were piping hot and fresh.Pricing is decent. Customer service was top notch. I would try them again. I want to try the Lobster Mac sandwich next time. I just need to stumble across this foodie truck again.
