CARNITAS’ SNACK SHACK – PETCO PARK

Yet another shining example of the good folks running the Padres and Petco Park sourcing ballpark concessions locally. Carnitas Snack Shack at Petco Park offers up some stellar eats. They refer to their food as "Pork-centric American". At a recent Padres game I had the Smoked Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog with Carnitas and Pico. Just as the name describes, this fat dog is wrapped stem to stern in delicious smoked bacon then lightly covered in carnitas and sprinkled with pico. This ain't your average ballpark hot dog. My only critique was that there needed to be more of that tender carnitas. Other than that it was perfectly delicious!Whether it is the "Triple Threat" Sandwich, Carnitas Burger, Carnitas Tots, Bacon Wrapped Hot Dog, or whatever. Carnitas Snack Shack most certainly can be added to the long list of solid food offerings at Petco Park.

Their Bacon wrapped hot dog is one of the best hot dogs I have ever had at a ballpark.

We were visiting San Diego this week, and my husband is a huge baseball fan, so we went to several games. I did some research online to find some gluten free food, and this was one of the choices. I miss good Mexican food, too, so this is what I wanted. We went May 1 to the game. The tacos were outstanding! Best I've had in a long time. So delicious! Didn't make me sick, either, which is a plus when you have food allergies or intolerances.
