First off, this isn't somewhere to go if you're looking for decent prices for your entire family. It's more on the expensive side but if you go in with that in mind then you won't be disappointed.The sushi is top notch and the fish is prepared very well. The udon was a hit with the 1 year old who is very picky in what he eats. I could've kept ordering sushi if not for the kiddo getting bored and wanting to run around.This place is also dog friendly with some outdoor seating and why we will be coming back, along with a beautiful ambiance. They have heat lamps if it gets chilly also so you don't have to worry about being cold outside.Regardless if you're inside or outside, the servers always come and check in multiple times. It always baffles me when you're at a restaurant with higher prices and the server can't even come out to check if everything arrived then expect a 20% tip. This isn't one of those places and they take care of you.

You know today was a day - rough - so my husband took me out for sushi and decided to check this place out. Immediately, as I opened the door and walked in, I was greeted by the most pleasant hostess Michelle.Her service was outstanding, very pleasant and attentive. AND that made the food taste even better than it already did! I cannot even tell you how I felt going in but I felt great going out. My husband had teriyaki chicken, rice, and shrimp tempura, both excellent. I had spicy scallop, a spicy tuna hand rolls, and the albacore special. They were all excellent. Had a Sapporo edamame. And even ordered teriyaki chicken for latter. I couldn't ask for more enjoyable experience. Thank you for your service, Michelle, you made my day. I will be coming back.

I remember Blue Fin Sushi had more flavor to their fish. It tasted bland to me that night. Hamachi Kama was cooked well and dipping sauce was good. Tried the stuffed shishito peppers that had a ginger soy sauce topping. Sashimi seemed fresh at times but had a texture that could have been frozen before.

YUM! Stumbled upon this place trying to find dinner in the area.. the part of Encinitas not close to the water lol Had to wait a little bit before getting seated, but overall a great atmosphere! Service was great, especially sitting at the sushi bar (never done that before!) It was really awesome to see how much intention the chefs have into making the sushi- definitely coming back!

It's been awhile since my last review - and still our favorite authentic go-to sushi spot. New owner Dice is amazing at his craft and him and the entire staff are always so warm and welcoming. We love to sit at the sushi bar (our 5.5 year old is quite the sushi monster at the chagrin of our wallet) and are always well taken care of with the freshest and best quality of fish- Amber Jack, Toto, Salmon, Giant clam, Uni, Salmon roe, etc the simple, fresh and sweet flavors shine through, yet some are elevated in flavors via creative addition if yuzu and salt, or other delicious combo. The rice (and my hubs is picky) is perfectly executed from the "al dente" appreciation of each rice grain to the temperature (not too warm or cold). A recent revelation was the salmon skin hand roll- "seafood bacon" delicate and crisp. The kids meal is excellent arriving in a train or car plate of choice. And they always go the extra mile by also kindly providing a cute Japanese goodie/toy that always delights my daughter. We like to accompany our delicious meal with a bottle of Dassai 45 sake- chilled crisp and rounded - perfect match with the food. Highly recommend for solid authentic high quality and fresh sushi, with warm and welcoming service. Reservations highly recommended - and suggest you sit at the sushi bar.

I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. Long day and ended up ordering takeout off Grub hub. Sushi was so good and you can taste the high quality fish in even a basic roll. Next time, I'm dining in person!

This is an excellent authentic Japanese sushi place. If you've been here before - especially during the COVID era - and experienced slow service, give it another chance. I don't know what they did but things are a lot more organized now. (I think they were overwhelmed with take-out orders.)On the expensive side, but worth it for a good experience/meal. Great food, friendly bar, 素晴らしい場所!
