Great spot to grab a beer and some food. The service was great and the bartender knew her stuff when it came to recommendations. I love the play on words for the food items. Also the dark decor in there. Food was good.

Dying for a beer? Black Plague is a great spot for a beer and a bite with a spooky theme. This North Park location is a taproom for Black Plague, a brewery with their main location in Oceanside. It's a bit cozy, but it has distinctive Plague Doctor theme, and other spooky stuff to help it stand out from your "normal" brewery. We tried a pretty large portion of the beer menu, and everything was good. None of the beer truly stood out as different or special, but not every brewery needs to experiment with new things. We got some food that was easy to share with the group, cheese curds (Curds of Doom) and poutine (Molten Mayhem). It's appropriate bar food for the location.PROPS: Unique theme that extends from how the location is decorated, to the names of every item. This is a great place for pictures.SLOPS: While everything we ate and drank was good, nothing stood out as great. It feels like they're playing it safe with the menu.

These guys make a great meatball sandwich with a great red sauce to go along with it. You can order the full length or the half length which is what I did with a czech pilsner pint. The meatballs are made from a beef and pork combination including a binder of course. They were delicious and offered great texture. They were quite meaty and well seasoned, but not overly salty. The house red sauce that came a long with the meatball sub was bliss. It had a very good balance flavor between acidity and sweetness. The best way I can describe it was that it had a fresh and vibrant flavor. The difference between and good meatball sub and a great one is the roll, and here they use an imported amoroso roll which was great. The pilsner was great and the service very down to earth friendly. They play a lot of rock music here, not that there's anything wrong with that.

Black Plague just moved into North Park next to the Observatory and now I need to go check out their main location I'm Oceanside! The first thing you'll notice about BP is their aesthetic and ambiance (mainly due to their merchandise and some of the props around the store). The plague doctor/skeleton/dead style is so cool and I love all of it. I can only imagine the oceanside location having more of their space decked out in this aesthetic. I got a flight of beer and each pour was only around $2-$4 which is insanely cheap. My favorite was the Tropicus. Good hints of fruit and alcohol, just the way I like it. I even love how each of their own beers have their own unique branding and name. Black Plague definitely is a winner when it comes to their overall design and marketing of their beers/merch. Can't wait for the grand opening soon!

This place has a cool theme and nice selection of brews. Their food menu also looks good but they were out of several items that looked enticing, unfortunately.Appropriately named, you'll know what to expect at this taproom just by the name of it. The brews have cool names and there are a couple of coffins off the side of the entrance wall that greet you when you walk in. And there's one particular glass table that rests over a coffin with a skeleton in it so that's super cool and unique! My group of about 10 sat there, so Black Plague is a promising spot for large groups. For myself, I had a tray of fries and a In My Darkest Sour.Fries -- 10/10. Perfectly crunchy and salty. These fries were just perfect and makes for a nice pair with any brew. Highly recommend, especially if you're there with a group. In My Darkest Sour (Mixed Berry edition) -- 6/10. I didn't really pick up the flavor of berries. It was veeeeeery subtle but overall an alright sour ale

North Park has no shortage of breweries and tasting rooms. Some stand out more than others. This is one of them. The brewery itself is up in Oceanside but this tasting room opened up just over a year ago kind of filling the void when Rouleur left. Solid beers and solid service and good food. Preston is a great dude and makes this location what it is. Always good music going and a great atmosphere. Perfect pace to have some good beer and grub before a show at the Observatory. The milk stout is a real treat.

Cool spot. Service is a tad slow when it is busy. However, still has a nice dark vibe. Though, with a tighter space and a mix of obnoxious d-bags and hipsters, their oddball conversations are audible to everyone. But, it's Black Plague. Beer is always delicious.

I liked the location (main strip of North Park)but the interior was rather loud so we sat outside on their patio. It was a nice place to people watch while we enjoyed our food and drink. We ordered fried cheese curds which come in a half order or full order. To me, their portions are too small for this. My pic is of the half order. It was taken before we even ate any of it.

The floor was cold and enjoyable on this hot summer day. My humans raved about the notes in the beer and passed their cups to each other to taste. I looked up for my turn but it never came. anyways, I did take a nice relaxing nap till I heard patrons ask my mom about my age and comment on how pretty I am. so I of course got up cutting my nap short to provide them with the privilege of petting me and receiving my love and attention. there were a lot of skulls around the brewery and to me reminiscent of dinners back when I lived in the wild. 10/10 would come again.
