Probably one of,if not my favorite spot in SD to grab a bagel and coffee. My go to is usually the veggie melt, an iced Madagascar Vanilla latte with almond milk and chocolate croissant. There's plenty of options for meat lovers, vegetarians and vegans. Theres something for everyone, smoothie ,juice and coffee fanatics. You can even opt for an açaí bowl if you aren't up to a bagel. It gets super packed but the workers are always so kind, patient and working as efficient as possible.

I often try to steer clear to this area of Hillcrest because the parking lot can be mayhem, but thankfully, I got here early enough to beat the crowd! Even then, there was already a long line inside. They are great about coming down the line to take orders before you pay to help speed up the process. I ordered an everything bagel with smoked salmon and got my husband a bacon, egg and cheese bagel. Pretty solid. Size is huge. The bagels are so thick that they didn't get quite as toasty as I usually like them, but they were good.

One word. DELICIOUS. Was craving a bagel sando this weekend after a grueling workout at balboa park. BCB popped up as the closest stop and ordered online before driving over. Parking situation was bit tricky but very easy to navigate to. This pace was packed on Saturday morning, so be prepared to wait on weekends! I went with the Asiago bacon egg and cheese and it was exactly what I needed. Probably the best bagel sandwich I've had in SD. Will definitely be back to try the smoothies and coffee options. Finally found my new bagel shop! Give them a try!

Was needing some breakfast one morning and was crazing a bagel. A quick search led me to BCB Cafe and their very large breakfast menu. I really did enjoy my sandwich. One note for anyone getting a breakfast bagel with any type of shmear be ready for it to squeeze out durning each bite. You also may wan to get your bagel extra toasted to really get that crunch when eating. You won't be disappointed by the taste of what ever choice you make. Definitely a really good option if you're in the area.

A seemingly favorite with the locals, judging by all the people longing outside. Though just ok given what I'm used. The eggs seemed reheated rather than cooked to order and the bagels were a tad on the bready side. The Meatlover on Everything Bagel: While it did have three types of meat (bacon, ham, sausage), it wasn't overloaded. Just some of each. The egg patty was kinda squishy and felt premade. The cheese help added some moisture, but still felt kinda dry overall. The bagel itself seemed too bready and not chewy enough. It's better than a Dukin Donuts bagel sandwich for sure, but nothing like what you'd find at a NYC bodega. The Ultimate Veggie on Multigrain Everything Bagel: Decided to get a veggie to balance out all the meat. The egg patty there also tasted premade and it had veggies mixed in. But the veggies tasted a little undercooked compared to what you might get in an omelet. Not raw veggies, just not perfectly tender. The cream cheese and avocado helped keep the right moisture. Though the bagel was again too bready and not chewy enough.

I've had mixed experiences here. Today's was not great. The bagels here are good, and the quality of food has been pretty good the handful of times I've been here. Today though, I ordered through yelp, which is the interface you get when you use Apple Maps to look up their restaurant and click "order". I was heading to a work event so I placed the order ahead of time to make it a quick in and out pickup. I got there and no one knew about my order. This could've been the fault of yelp, but still, first issue. They were nice and got to making my order for me pretty quickly when I got there.I ordered two breakfast bagels and I paid $2.50 extra for cream cheese on one of them. I don't mind the price, but I never even got the cream cheese. I had already left, and because I was now running late to an event I didn't have time to go back for something like that.I opened the other sandwich, a bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese, and this is what I got. It's got 2 little pieces of bacon bunched up in the middle. It's sad and pitiful looking. Between not having the order ready in time, forgetting items that were paid for, and not giving fair portions for a somewhat expensive sandwich, I was not impressed this time.

I love NY style bagels! The bagels here are very big and chewy. I was not a fan of the bagels at all. Maybe I'd try a sandwich on bread next time. Friendly service. Decent size menu. If you like NY style bagels, I wouldn't go here... If you like big chewy bagels you may enjoy this place...

I love Big City Bagel, but what's up with customers bringing their dogs in? I love dogs, but it's a restaurant! It's unsanitary to bring your dog in here!
