First off, no food pics cuz this trip ended with some stress and I didn't bring my phone (but the end-end was good), so let's talk about the food. Albaca is the Coronado Marriott restaurant. I had two meals here. First one by myself on Tuesday night. I had the Baja Bowl, which comes with black beans, quinoa, avocado, and various roasted veggies. My veggies included babies carrots, parsnips, butternut squash and cherry toms--and mushrooms. There was also some baby spinach. Guest can add chicken, tofu, or another protein I can't remember. I didn't add anything. The dish was served in a glazed red clay bowl and it looked good! And it was flavorful, but many of the roasted veggis were under-cooked and the mushrooms were over-cooked and dry. Still, I ate most of it and felt satisfied with the comfort food.Tonight, Wednesday, my W and I went for dinner and had a delightful meal! We shared the calamari appetizer, the lobster pasta, and the white chocolate cheese cake with fruit compote. I am sad that I didn't have my phone because every dish was beautiful and delish! The calamari consisted of lightly battered and fried rings and tentacles served with a spicy aoili. The chef spread the aoili on half the deep platter and up the sides, and plated the squid on the other side of the plate. It was a unique and beautiful display that makes sense for this dish. The fry was golden and perfect--tender and crunchy deliciousness! Get. This. Dish! The lobster pappardelle was shockingly beautiful! Served on lavender wide-rimmed warmed bowls, the fresh pasta was served with large chunks of lobster including whole claw meat, and was topped with micro sprouts and edible flower pedals. The sauce was a buttery wine sauce, I believe, and lemon--so tasty! We shared the dish and that was no problem for the restaurant and they made both portions look amazing! Because we split meals, we had room for dessert and were again impressed with the plating of the white chocolate cheesecake. It was an individual serving size in oval shape coated with white chocolate curls on the sides and topped with a thin layer of white chocolate with a dark chocolate swirl, all on a graham cracker crust. The top had a berry compote puree and the plate was surrounded by strawberry halves, blueberries, and blackberries. Beautiful! And to top it all of, our server, Alex, was kind, timely, and tolerated our shenanigans!Since I have no food pics, I'll leave you with the properties Flamingos and views from our patio.

GREAT VIEWS, MEH FOOD(2.5 stars)Resident restaurant inside the Coronado Marriott Hotel Resort and Spa. - FOOD: meh- PRICE: hotel pricing- SERVICE: good- AMBIANCE: beautiful!I honestly LIKE hanging out at Hotel restaurants. Yea, pricy but foods usually good and the crowd/vibe/ambiance is different. I was expecting my experience to be liked only to fall in disappointment. We came here after playing on the courts at the Wellness Center to eat, drink, and socialize. It was so convenient as the tables were already reserved for us upon arrival and it was a short walk over from wellness center to the restaurant. After playing round robin/ladders and climbing up to the 2nd top court (very last game we won which if played one more game would have been playing on top court!!!) I was ready to eat, drink, and socialize. :: ORDER ::DATIKI ($17) - cutwater tiki rum, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, angostura butters. This was served in a martini glass and it was tasty "tiki" kind of drink. However wish it was served in a tall glass instead of a martini class as I didn't feel it was martini like in anyway and felt I got a short hand on the portion to price. MARGARITA FLATBREAD ($18) - San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, herb oil. This was disappointing flat bread. I ate one piece and packed the rest to go to not be wasteful and try to repurpose it at home. It wasn't that good. The out edge crust was fine but the rest of the flat bread was flimsy. The flatbread had so much cheese it weighted down the slices, the tomatoes were not very ripe - along with the tomato sauce it was overall more acidic than I like, and the among of fresh basil was more of one crushed leaf garnishing the meal. I wanted a lot more fresh basil. Next time I will try something else but will stay away from the flat bread. No I don't recommend it. :: SERVICE ::It was good. Fast and organized. But we all had separate checks.. meaning whatever we order is our own. I asked for napkins because I was give nothing (no napkins, no utensils) but my plate of food. Server kept pushing me if I wanted plates for everyone... we all have separate checks (meaning no we ain't sharing amongst each other). One flat bread isn't going to serve 3 large tables of people. Yet he continued to bring out more utensils and plates. Nobody used the plates to share as everyone had their own or knew if they didn't order it they ain't eating it. We asked for separate checks for a reason. I asked for napkins and utensils for myself for a reason.

Came by for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, I wasn't too impressed with the menu it wasn't very adventurous, but decided to just stay and try it, and was pleasantly surprised, my wife really liked the pokey, and the turkey BLT club sandwich was substantial, and had nice bread and avocado, so as far as that type of lunch goes it was pretty decent. They have quite a few selections that would be considered more California Mexican, tacos and so forth as well.

Great hotel restaurant! Located on the first floor of our hotel, this restaurant had beautiful views of San Diego. We had a chance to sit inside for breakfast, and outside for dinner multiple times. The food was very good, and the staff was very nice. Some of our favorite meals included the lobster pasta, as well as the crispy brussels sprouts. There weren't a lot of sides for our two-year-old but the staff was nice enough to bring over some fruit, which she really enjoyed. It was very convenient for us, but happy that it also hit the spot when it came to meal time.

We stayed at the hotel and ordered for room service simply because we had just stepped off of the airport and it was a bit cold. Service was really quick and food was made fresh. Had we had the time, we would've sat and ate there for the views of downtown and the bay alone. There is also inside seating as well. The burger was done well with an ample side of well-made fries. The carne asada tacos came in 3 with good ratio of meat and guac, salsa is on the side and spicy - just how we like it.

Good quality was horrible. Can't believe this restaurant is at a Marriott property. Could get a better steak from Dennys.

Were staying at the hotel so decided to grab dinner here for our first night. The restaurant was not busy at Al, might be because it's on a weekday. We ordered 3 kids meals, two bacon jam burgers served on a pretzel bun. The burgers good, bit greasy. Kids had cheeseburgers, pizza and chicken strips. Husband had shrimp Alfredo which he thought was ok. It was expensive but not surprisingly since we are in Coronado Island. Will try other places nearby.Update: we had breakfast this morning and it was ok. Nothing special. I had the bacon and sausage omelette, chocolate pancakes, for the price perhaps could have even better.

The food was delicious and the restaurant is very classy and expensive. For being such an upscale and expensive restaurant I expected better service then what was provided. Will explain everything below. This restaurant is attached to the marriott where I was staying so we ended up eating breakfast 2 times there and dinner one time. Every time the food was delicious.Dinner: It was Christmas eve so there was a special Christmas eve menu. I ordered the fancy bread, squash soup, Filet mignon, and the chocolate surprise. All the food was dilishis but I felt rushed by the waitress. She was asking us for our order every 5 minutes it felt like and when we asked questions about dishes she would say I don't know or someone order that and it looked good. We where asked about desserts before we finished are meals and then asked again without even getting a dessert menu. The waitress said chocolate surprise was like chocolate cake she thinks. Chocolate surprise ended up being very good chocolate mousse not a cake at all. Breakfast one: We got the breakfast buffet all the food was delicious and service was actually good this time. We asked if we could be seated in a booth and was told "no, booths are for large partys". For our entire breakfast the booth remained empty.Breakfast two: We where seated and this time no waiter ever showed up. We got breakfast buffet and just helped ourselves. Again food was delicious we just never had a waiter. When we where done with breakfast (an hour later) we asked someone for a bill and then someone came up and apologized for not helping us. They ended up giving us a discount but because we are Marriott Bonvoy, breakfast was already free. With the restaurant being at a Marriott and so expensive, 30$ for breakfast buffet each and hundred+ dollars for dinner I would expect better service but the food was delicious.

The breakfast buffet was delightful. So many fresh options for both healthy and non-healthy eaters. The bartenders are friendly and attentive and the restaurant is clean and cozy. They're outdoor patio has a fabulous view of the Bay at all times

While staying at this Marriott, we dined for dinner and breakfast. Talk about delicious!!! We got the charred Brussels sprouts which was our shared appetizer... yes, only 1 appetizer and we still had tons left because although very delicious they could be your entire meal. We then had dinner entrees of short ribs and halibut. The fish was good but the short ribs were AMAZING!! The kids of ages 5 and 7 with us dined off the kids menu which was pretty basic for a kids menu. Again very generous portions that we needed to pack up at the end of the meal. You wonder why 4 stars rather an 5... well between the two adults and two children... we were bitten up by the mosquitos... I would say at least 25 bites between us.... Our dinner time was about 6:30... not at dusk as you might be thinking. The outdoor dining experience with the gorgeous bay view was destroyed by the lack of area mosquito treatment if they know the issue. Although the food was a great memory... the mosquito bites were unfortunately an issue that bothered us for days. Our room at the Marriott was also riddled with mosquito issues, with us trying to spray the room and ourselves, not enjoying sitting on the balcony or leaving the door open. The breakfast buffet was again a wonderful meal... no doubt that this is a fabulous place to eat!!But beware... bring your mosquito repellent.
