Food and service were amazing! Definitely not your typical Mexican restaurant in Houston, which was very refreshing. Focusing more on high quality cuts of meat, Saltillo differs from the more simplistic flavors of Tex Mex restaurants. Hidden treasure of the Bellaire triangle! Food did not last long enough for pictures : )

Not what it used to be....big price increase which isn't an issue when the food is on par sadly new management has changed all the recipes. No more homemade chips, salsas not even close to what they previously were....even the margaritas tasted odd...enchilada were hard....25.00 shrimp cocktail had one shrimp.....how can they no longer serve tortilla soup. (Want a great tortilla soup try la cruderia on bellaire blvd) the vibe was way off at Saltillo....so sad that one of our favs has lost everything we loved about it....

Beware , this place thinks your uneducated about meat. I ordered the Ribeye and they brought me a top Sirloin pretending that they had trimmed it that's why it didn't look like usual. Don't fall for it! I used to love this place when it was located in Montrose under the name Casa del Caballo

I have to say, my visit here was impecable. You know it's great food when the beans are cooked and seasoned to perfection. The main dish (Enchiladas Saltillo) was so delicious that it hurt not being able to finish it all. Who doesn't like Tex-Mex, but I feel like this place is a hidden gem of true Mexican food that my own mother wouldn't critique. Service was excellent, I loved my cocktails, and I look forward to my next visit! P.S. pick up mexican candy on the way out!

This place really doesn't look like much from the outside, but on the inside the setting is very intimate and perfect for a date or a small birthday dinner. It is a little pricey so I usually only come here for special occasions. The brisket tacos are amazing. I've also had their steaks and enchiladas verdes before and those were amazing too. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere are always on point. Definitely recommend this place!

We have been to Saltillo twice now. It is a bit more upscale than a typical "Mexican Kitchen". We love the chips and selection of salsas they bring out. The food and service are very good. So if you like Mexican food but don't want the standards or at least want an option for some different food items- this is a great place to go.

Saltillo was recommended to me by a friend of mine. When I arrived, there weren't very many people dining in, so I was worried because it was pretty much empty. It's a bit more dressed up than your typical Mexican restaurant, but it was warm and inviting.I ordered sparking water and waited for the rest of my party to arrive. They were taking longer than usual, so I ordered a couple of appetizers to share with them when they arrived. The staff also brought me chips and 3 kinds of salsas. She put them in order of mildest to hottest. They all had a great flavor. The chips were also fresh and tasty. The appetizers that I ordered were:Queso Fundido - it was served in a hot skillet. It was very good, and I'm not a huge fan of a lot of cheese, but I ordered it because it caught my attention, and it looked like it would be good to share.Cubes De Queso Frito - It was fried cubes of cheese. They served it with guacamole, green, and Chipotle sauces. It was ok, but not great. I would order something else next time. For my dinner, I ordered the Beef Alambres. It was a beef kabob served with a side of guacamole, rice, and beans. The beef kabob also had onions on it. The beef was cooked ok, just a bit over for me. But it still had a good flavor. The onions seemed a bit under cooked to me. I would have liked them a little bit softer. The rice was pretty good, just not great. But the beans... OMG!!! Those beans had to have been the BEST beans that I've ever had in my entire life. I'd go back for the beans alone. That's the reason why this review is 4 stars and not just 3.It was a good solid meal. I'd go back for sure, but I will make different selections. Just please don't mess with those beans!

I was driving down the street when I noticed a sign that said "Now Serving Lunch." I didn't have much time and was looking for something inexpensive and the sign led me to believe they had a lunch menu. I was disappointed to find that there dinner menu was what was for lunch, at dinner prices. Upon seeing the prices, I wanted to leave and try another place but didn't have enough time. I ordered the mole chicken with rice and beans ($30), I think. The rice and dipping sauces were great. The dinner portions were small. The mole sauce was bland. The chicken was dry, tough to chew and tasted like it had been seared in an old greasy skillet. I waited a ridiculous amount of time for my food to drop, was filling up on chips and was made very late to my appointment. Next time I'll keep driving.

It was our first time to dine here so we were not sure what to expect. Let me say that we thought we were at the wrong place when we arrived, because it's appears to be a taqueria. Wow to our surprise when we walked in, It is a small modestly elegant restaurant. The service was impeccable, the queso fundido was amazing for starters. Then I had steak & mole enchiladas, my wife had the brisket which she enjoyed very much.

The prices in the internet menu do not match the prices when you get to the restaurant and owner doesn't care to update his site. Its deceptive and he doesn't care. I got a piece of chicken that had some sauce on it that was so salty that it was not edible. I'll never go back. Los Tios is right around the corner and its actually good!!!
