That was a painful takeout experience. I took a break from the conference and decided to order the:GRILLED CHICKEN SANDWICHBacon, jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, with no onions, pickles, honey mustard. Served with fries. Add utensils. My sandwich took 40 minutes. It was loaded with onions, there was no honey mustard and I had no utensils. All of this could've been avoided if the staff was attentive. They were all trying to figure out their Starbucks order, while the manager was busy announcing her one year anniversary. They charged me nine dollars for a house salad (no meat or anything) that was added to a meal. I've come here for years and never been charged anything remotely close to this, even when I order a salad by itself. Then the employees kept trying to blame the company and be like "It's not our price, it's the company's price."So falls one of the few remaining remotely affordable and fun places in downtown Houston. It was good while it lasted.

Only had a salad for lunch but it was very tasty. Popular spot by the looks, good crowd and bartender was nice and friendly.

I've been a loyal salt grass customer for years. My favorite is the NY Strip and wedge salad. My last steak at the San Antonio Saltgrass was disappointing. Normally melt in your mouth tender. This was chewy. Funny but same results at Corpus Christi Saltgrass. And same result in downtown Houston Saltgrass with a sirloin. What's happened?? Landry select member

While downtown for the Michigan game festive we stopped here. It's directly in front of the George R brown convention center. After touring the event I wanted a drink so we sat outside on the patio. There was a bartender stand outside. My husband ordered me vodka and cranberry which came in a to go cup. We didn't eat any food but a server came by to check on us.

We were very excited to try a restaurant that was the perfect embodiment of Texas with walls top to bottom decorated with various memorabilia, and while the food was good, the service was.... frustrating. Any time they offered a chip refill, a baked potato as a side, additions to my steak, they never mentioned what was an additional cost and what wasn't. We ordered a baked potato as a side, which they offered to make loaded(with no mention of a $5 up charge) which was ordered with no sour cream, which of course was delivered with EXTRA sour cream. They did eventually replace it, as they dropped the bill off as well. They then offered a chip refill for our Queso, and said it would be an additional charge, which we declined. They then brought out the chip refill, which said we didn't want to pay for, with another server then saying that was no charge for chips. (The Caesar Salad was insanely good though, despite everything else!)

In town for a conference, to my delight one of my favorite restaurants was in walking distance. One luck girl here. Greeted at the door and seated quickly. Kaya, our waitress, was so wonderful. She knew her menu and answered our questions. She kept the tea glasses filled up and checked on us often.The manager, Roman, came by a couple of times checking to see if everything was good. I love when I see a manager actively walking around visiting with customers. It says a lot about leadership.Let's talk about the wonderful food. So tasty! Go for the dessert! Eat it first if you need to.

outside of steak selection they did not have many gluten free options. i ordered tie shrimp and while tasty they were extremely small. i ordered from their gf menu, told the server i was gf and ordered mu salad w/o croutons because..... gf. salad came out with croutons on it. service was slow for party of 8. although convenient to the convention center i would not recommend this pace or go back.

Great steak - and love the toppings. Bartender Conner had great suggestions from the special drink menu! He was very personable.Kasey the manager stopped by to say hello and introduce herself - to check that everything was going well and offer to help if she could.They now have gluten free options - they even have a gluten free menu!Highly suggest you give them a try!

Brandon was amazing!!! He brought so much joy to the environment, and constantly made sure we had everything we needed!! He brought out our food so quickly, and made sure it was still fresh. If you come to Saltgrass Steak House, I would recommend Brandon 100%!!!
