Sal's Trattoria

AMAZING! The food, service, and design were all lovely.We had the muscles and sausage (highly recommend) the sauce was delicious, flavorful, and complex. The tagliatelle and eggplant Parmesan also were delicious.The restaurant is very sophisticated, well decorated, and seems like the perfect date spot or celebratory meal at a fair price point.A hidden gem in the neighborhood! We will be back.

I've loved Sal's ever since I moved to the neighborhood ~7 years ago. Delicious, seasonal plates (and cocktails), friendly staff, the coziest vibes and excellent service. Great for family, friends, date nights or even business. Whenever anyone is looking for a restaurant recommendation, this is the first place I mention!

Visited Sal's for my birthday. We made a reservation before hand and were seated fast. The space is small but cozy. We had trouble deciding what to get and the waitress was very helpful. For food, we got the mussels, which were our favorite part of the dinner. They sausage really complemented the mussels without over powering it.Then we got an order of lemon risotto with sausage as the topping. It was really good! Then we added a side of Brussels sprouts which were tasty! Overall, it was a great filling dinner with nice staff.

fav spot for italian! the vodka rigatoni is so good as well as the barata (must order item). great date night spot especially in the summer! service is great the waiters are so nice!

Back at Sals last Friday and it was very good! Glad I went back. Apps were great, server was friendly. Chicken parm was very good. We had both the burrata app and crab cake. Burrata is a keeper!! Desserts were also good. I recommend the olive oil cake!! Enjoy!

Very flavorful and lots of garlic. Generous amounts of shrimp in the Fra Diavolo. Brussels Sprouts were good, but would've been better with some char. Reasonably priced for the quality, portion, and flavors.

Food was very good. Ambience was perfect for a date night. Our service was fine, I would have liked a more interactive waiter. He seemed to whisper and it was hard to hear him.

Sal's is a wonderful local Italian spot in Lakeview! I've dined both outdoors and inside here and really enjoyed both experiences. The service is friendly and helpful - our waiter recommended the house Super Tuscan that was a favorite of our group. I ordered the fettuccine carbonara, which was creamy and filling. They're generous with the parmesan too!

The rigatoni bolognese is so good. The pasta is amazing and the little pink tequila drink is awesome. Pork chop is a family favorite and so is any of the Parms (eggplant or chicken).

Dinner was phenomenal and the service was great.Ordered grilled calamari and ceaser salad for appetizer.Grilled calamari is served in a garlic, butter, and lemon sauce that is excellent. Ordered two pastas - Carbonara and spaghetti alla nerano (spaghetti w zucchini). Happy with both choices, and the pastas were not too heavy.Loved the cheese cake for dessert. Will be coming back when in the mood for a nice Italian dinner with a neighborhood feel.
