Me and my hub been eyeing this spot for a while now. This week must be their grand opening. Because we was on our way home and saw the open sign. We knew we have to stop by. Sakura Japan is located at the intersection of Frankford and Harbison Avenue, where Subway used to be and next to Rita's. Looks pretty cozy from the outside. When we arrived at 9 something, think they was closing maybe? Bc the staffs mention he can whip up something for us just not sushi. My main intention was their sushi burrito, which I didn't see on the menu, my guess is they haven't add that yet. I didn't want to be difficult, so me and hub order Teriyaki Shrimps and Teriyaki Beef. Honestly, we didn't like the food too much. The broccoli on both entrees were undercooked, very hard. Meats are pretty mediocre. The best part is staffs are very friendly!

I ordered 2 chicken bento boxes and a shrimp teriyaki. I got fried rice for all 3 orders which was a extra $1 each. The food is ok. The chicken was not flavorful, the fried rice was too sweet, and the veggies were bland (not sure why they didn't seasoned the veggies). The shrimp was good though. The bentos came with 2 spring rolls and California rolls. I didn't eat the spring rolls but my brother said they were good. The California rolls were cut too big and not evenly - the rice was too soft and a bit too salty. The sauce for the chicken and the shrimp were put in sauce containers - I did not try the sauce but my brother did not like it.The staff are very nice but too disorganized. They had 1 person in the sushi section, 1 person cooking on the grill, and 4 people trying to figure out the orders. The lady who took my order doesn't speak very good English, so it was a bit hard placing the order. There was 1 other order beside mine. This much confusion for just 2 orders isn't good. Hopefully they get their act together soon, but I will most likely not be ordering from here again. Wishing this new business good luck

I ordered the Tempura bento box and it was delicious. The shrimp was crunchy and cooked perfectly. I had a side of lo-mein noodles and they gave me a huge portion of it. It also included 2 spring rolls and a California roll which tasted fresh. It was a good value, and I will definitely be ordering from here again because of the huge portions you get. Great value. The chef and employees were very friendly. The menu however is a bit small. I hope they can add additional items in the future.

this place is a very good affordable option to some great food but the fried rice that comes with your bento box is not very flavorful and the vegetables are undercooked and the staff sometimes has some trouble understanding what you say but other than that the place is great their sushi is fresh and the main dishes in the bento box are cooked nicely with a good teriyaki flavor i am a regular there and the staff are so friendly and welcoming and will help you to the best of their ability i would definitely give this place a try if you are in the area
