I attended an event they catered and the food was of poor quality (fatty beef) then when the plate was replaced the meat was tasteless. Make sure to try the food prior to ordering.

Had them cater my wedding for 150 people on June 4th. They were a dream to work with. The food was delicious. They worked with us to create an original menu. She says she shops locally for much of the ingredients and you can taste the difference. The salads were VERY fresh. We had Shrimp and Grits which she cooked to order. They also created these beautiful homemade ice creams to go with our wedding pies. I've worked banquets for many years and I've never experienced such a level of service and high quality food at a wedding before. Especially because their prices were competative with other caterers in the area. If I were planning another wedding (which I won't be), I would surely hire them again.

The event itself was great, and the food was delicious. The final result was closer to a 5 out of 5 stars. However, there were some decent hiccups in the planning partnership process, making us wonder whether the event's catering would turn out well at all. Suffice it to say that those hiccups were overcome by a wonderful, delicious final result, but it required more vigilance than we'd imagined to get there. I debated between a 3 or a 4, but they aced the final test despite some poor communication and a meeting no-show along the way.

Sage and Swift catered our wedding for roughly 70 guests. The food was great but the servers were inexperienced. We experienced many issues during our reception due to miscommunication between Sage and Swift and their servers. For example, half of our guests, including the wedding party, were not served the wedding cake because they were not seated at the tables(because they were dancing.) When addressing our concerns, Sage and Swift never acknowledged their faults but instead blamed us for not provided sufficient information. I would not recommend using Sage and Swift for a wedding reception. However if you have a chance to stop by Watts Grocery, do so! It was great!

We recently had Sage and Swift cater our wedding for 110 guests in Durham. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and full of wonderful flavor. We had a cookie bar with four simply tasty and original flavors. I would have never thought to make a ginger snap sandwich with lemon cream filling..mm mm good! The service team were spectacular. They were always there to meet our needs and received raving reviews from our guests. We cannot thank them enough for making this event memorable and delicious!

Every event at which I've had their food is great. But I'm writing about how thoughtful and smart they are on the planning end. I was planning a last minute party and the owner was incredibly knowledgeable about possible venues that would fit our budget (or that could be negotiated where possible) and the weather. Even though we ended up using a restaurant for our event, they will be our next call when the need arises.

Sage and Switf catered a wedding we attended recently. The servers were top notch and the food was great. Thery just did not prepare enough of it. For example, the vegetarian entree was gone before the vegetarians got to the buffet line. I would hire them in a heartbeat, but I would make it clear that I didn't want to be running out mashed potatoes, etc.

I am really torn about Sage and Swift. On the one hand, the food was excellent and they were very helpful when it came to making accommodations for guests with allergies, etc. The service staff at the wedding were excellent - attentive, professional, and friendly. However, I felt the service throughout the planning was really not what it should have been. It was already difficult given that we were planning our wedding from abroad, but early on they assured us that communicating by email would be no problem. Well, that didn't seem to be the case. They would often take weeks to reply to my emails and then still not answer my questions or send the updated quote that I asked for. Up to the last minute, they were asking me for information I had already sent them weeks or months earlier and they even realized they made errors in their estimates for things like service costs. I felt this was terribly unprofessional.

Sage and Swift catered a Memorial Service that my family hosted in Hillsborough last weekend. Everyone was incredible friendly and professional. The food was perfect for the event and absolutely delicious (especially the caramelized onion tartlets, silver dollar biscuits, and mini cupcakes).
