Quickly seated at lunch time, bar area. Very clean, nicely decorated place, super friendly staff. I ordered the crispy relleno which is a Pasilla pepper, quesillo cheese, black bean puree, Mexican rice, cream and hot green chili. First bite thoughts.... I'm coming back!! It was crispy, and an overall flavorful, crunchy first bite. Coated with a flavorful batter, the finish was crispy until the end, a little char at the top which was absolutely amazing on the palate. Not greasy at all. Maybe even finished in the oven. But I have to say, the best one I've had yet! Not only do I want to come back, I want to bring someone with me to share the awesomeness!

At first glance, the location of Rumbo 52 might give you pause--attached to a gas station, it's not where you'd expect to find a standout Mexican restaurant. However, once inside, the ambiance transports you straight to a vibrant cantina in Mexico. The decor is authentic and inviting, setting the stage for what could be a great culinary experience. The drink menu is impressive, especially for mezcal and tequila enthusiasts. I tried the watermelon margarita, which tasted exactly like a watermelon Jolly Rancher. Be warned, though, it's quite sweet, so you'll need to have a sweet tooth to enjoy it fully. Unfortunately, the coffee is something to avoid. We started with the salsa trio, featuring roasted tomato, green tomatillo, and jalapeño avocado salsas. While all three were delicious, the jalapeño avocado was the star--it was so good I could put it on anything. Sadly, the table-side guacamole wasn't actually prepared table-side as advertised, possibly because we were there for brunch. It was also on the sweeter side, likely due to the addition of pineapple, which wasn't to everyone's liking. For my main course, I ordered the Enchipotladas. While the flavors were promising, the dish arrived cold, which was disappointing. Our party of 12 experienced inconsistent food temperatures--some dishes were hot, while others were cold--indicating that the kitchen struggled with timing. That said, the breakfast burrito and fajitas were flavorful highlights.Service was the most significant drawback of our visit. Despite being the only party in the restaurant, the service was slow, and we frequently had to seek out our server for drinks and to place our orders. While large groups can be challenging, the service could have been more attentive given the circumstances.Overall, Rumbo 52 has potential with its vibrant atmosphere and flavorful dishes, but the inconsistencies in food temperature and service left a lot to be desired.

No reliable way of ordering food, call only and person taking order does not understand what I am saying due to language barrier. Picked up food and each item was incorrect. Posole was very bland and very oily.

The chicken flautas and the sopapillas are delicious! I came to this restaurant with a group of people, and we all voted for those two dishes as our top picks. The least favorite was the scallops, it had too much going on. Everyone gets a free cup of soup before ordering, that is such a nice touch. The Queso Fundido Artesanal is a great appetizer to share, perfect for fans of cheese. We opted for chips instead of corn tortillas. Great service, great food, and lots of parking! Their menu has quite the variety, I'm sure everyone will find something to enjoy.

You'd never know Rumbo 52 was inside/attached to a truck stop if you didn't drive past the pumps to get to the entrance. This elevated Mexican experience is fun, delicious, and easy to get to.I've had the pleasure of dining at Rumbo 52 a couple of times now, and the service was a ten both times. Everyone is friendly, and you can tell they are passionate about serving great food. The atmosphere is also fun, as the decor combines traditional Mexican art and style mixed with a few trees and an upscale bar. I recommend the table-side guacamole to start the meal, as it was a hit with our group. Made to order and to your liking, this will not disappoint. As for drinks, the Margarita flight is a great way to try a little of all the flavors. They have a great selection of tequila and mezcal with a handful of creative cocktails. None of them let us down. Entrees: this is where you'll struggle to make a selection. They have a large menu; honestly, it all sounds great. The few items I have had, which are in the pictures, have been good. I had a few items that could have been better, but overall, I was satisfied. Those items were the scallops; first, they are a little on the small side for a scallop dish; second, one of the four was bad, just tasted really fishy; lastly, it was too busy. There are too many flavors for such a delicate protein. The other dish was the pork belly; it was excellent, but it was not tender. It could have used another hour of braising, but the flavors were off the chart.Overall, Rumbo 52 is a fun place to grab dinner and a drink with friends. The service is excellent, and the menu is exciting.Full disclosure: on both visits, someone in our party reported stomach issues after our visit. I can't say that it was because of our meals here, but it is a little ironic.

What the heck? I mean come on. This place is connected to the gas station but that was one of the best Mexican food meals I've had in a long time. I had the puebla & oxaca essentially a naked relleno with this rich creamy sauce and an excellent tamale. Tamales are usually dry and cover it with a lot of spice. Not here, it was amazing. And could i recommend the trio of salsas i had tomato, azteca, and jalapeño avocado. For $6. really??? I paid 8 last week at tamale kitchen for clearly bottled sauce. I'm telling you this my new favorite Mexican place on my way to the airport. Excellent. Highly recommend

I can't count how many times I've eaten here in the past year and every single time the food and service is excellent. Don't judge its location. It's the best Mexican in the Carbon valley area. My only issue is the noise level is HIGH. Like, really high. And my last visit to hey had a mariachi band and they were SO good but the noise level is nearly intolerable. But... everything else is still worth it so we will keep coming back.
