Ruki's is no longer at the Church street location, but they are doing pop ups at various establishments until their permanent location opens. I found out through social media that they would be at a brewery not too far from me and decided to stop by. I arrived at Sceptre Brewery Arts in Eastlake and placed my order at the bar. I had no idea they had a full bar and will have to stop back by to check them out. I ordered sega tibs with gomen and a side of turmeric basmati rice. I picked up my food from the owner of Ruki's and he was very pleasant. The food smelled SO good and it was hard not to dig in before I got home. The food was exceptional and flavored to perfection. I've only had Ethiopian food a handful of times before this, but this may be the best I've ever had.I enjoyed the food so much and look forward to trying more dishes from them.

Phenomenal I've had quite a few great Ethiopian food experiences here in the Atlanta area but let me tell y'all bout Ruki's!!!I knew it was going to be good off the bat because the injera had such a rich dark color (doesn't look as dark in the pics) which let me know it was straight up teff and not watered down. Many of the other Ethiopian restaurants I've been to water down or mix in other flours to make the injera more palatable to the American palette or because it's cheaper, but not Ruki's! And I so appreciate that. Don't water anything down either you can take it or can't. So anyways yea the injera was everything and I ended up ordering the vegetarian plate, which came with gomen (collard greens), cabbage and some lentils. I just wrote a whole paragraph about the injera lmaooo so you know the accompanying food was banging! Top notch, the best Ethiopian food I've had in a while!Ruki's is currently operating as a pop-up so be sure to check their Ig @rukiskitchenatl to see when and where they will be. Even as a pop up service was great. Both server and owner came out to help and inquire about the food.I am 100% a fan and will continue to support them as they grow and expand as long as they don't compromise on that flavor!

I checked them out at breaker breaker when they had an all June Monday night popup. We stumbled upon it and tried their dry and wet chicken wings. Both were cooked to perfection, crunchy and paired with a super nice spicy sauce. I loved their dry wings with Ethiopian spice. Do try it!

Great customer service! Just discovered this EAV hidden gem, while walking on Flat Shoals. The restaurant is located in a co-op type of set up with multiple cuisines, bench table, seating, and artwork throughout. The current offerings were from Ruki's Ethiopian, a vendor with poke bowls and adjacent Mexican restaurant.I selected the Sega tibs combo with a side of Mesir (red lentils), and also ordered the vegetarian meal which included 4 vegetables. I chose more Mesir (red lentils - love them), Gomen (collard greens), Tikel, (cabbage and potatoes) & Fitfit (Njeri based - see menu for details). Sega consisted of beef cubes, a plethora of onions and delicious spices. Everything was excellent. Prepared to order, which allowed for observation of art work priced for sale and other vendors. The set up is small, but works for to go or dine in. Also enjoyed learning the backstory from the chef, who named restaurant after his mother. I also had the pleasure of seeing true kindness in action as the chef gave a coat and hat to a housing challenged man, on one of the coldest days in November.

I am glad I decided to try the food even though I had just finish eating somewhere else. ... Don't judge me for having a greedy moment :)I gentleman behind the counter was so nice. He answered all of my questions. Disclaimer- I've only eaten Ethiopian one other time prior to this visit that was good. I'm thrilled to write I have found a spot I like. It took me a long time complete this review hoping I would find the pictures I think I took... Next time. Fingers crossed I'll remember before eating it all again. I had the greens. The bread. A beef dish with tomatoes. And something spicy. I WOULD HAVE OT ALL AGAIN AND TRY SOMETHING NEW:)

The food and service were both outstanding. The owner personally came over to our table to thank us for dining at his establishment and get feedback on his cuisine. This is authentic Ethiopian food and I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family

Ruki's Kitchen serves up really solid Ethiopian food in this EAV foodhall spot! I had the veggie platter with injera. Their injera is really good, nice and tart like I like it. Their collards were especially standout. I think next time I'll ask for a little more spicy--you can technically adjust the spice level but since I didn't specify I think mine defaulted to mild. The guy cooking and serving was super nice and friendly, too.

I really enjoyed my meal. The vegetables were fresh and the chicken was delicious. I had tried Ethiopian before at one of ATL's most popular spots...and didn't really care for it. I decided to try it again given that Ruki's is in my neighborhood and was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend! For any of you afraid of heat, you can request mild!
