Oh man where do I start with this wonderful place - first and foremost, I was invited here for a business dinner with my team and I was not only blown away with the service but also the consistently amazing food that kept coming out for us! A lot of the classic dishes served have upscaled ingredients which adds a whole different palette of flavors to familiar dishes. The overall ambience is upscale with the dim lighting, candle lights and white table cloth. We had the private dining room which was situated away from the main dining room and made it very comfortable for conversations with coworkers from across the table. We were greeted with an extremely welcoming wait staff and were offered water and drinks right away! They were consistent in checking in with us often and were patient while we waited for our full party to arrive. From our selected menu, we had the Truffle Garlic Bread, Stracciatella Bruschetta and the RPM Caesar Salad for starters! It was family style and had just enough for all 15 of us! While all three options were delicious, I kept reaching for the garlic bread. Something about that creamy garlic goodness along with the perfectly crunchy bread! My coworker who is a massive fan of Caesar salad ended up eating almost the entire bowl for herself! The house made pastas were also served in family style but the servings were large enough to get around the table! We had Carbonara (classic), Rigatoni Alla Vodka and the Short Rib Bolognese! I'm a huge sucker for pasta and you wouldn't believe how much carbonara I was serving myself - most carbonara I've had were overwhelming with the cream and sometimes too much meat but the one at RPM Italian has the proportions down to a science. Out of the entrees, I selected the Roasted Ora King Salmon which wasn't dry at all! Portion was small but it worked out because by the time the entrees came out, we were so full from all the appetizers and pastas that came before. And can't forget about the desserts! We had the Banana Tiramisu and the RPM cheesecake - I'm a huge cheesecake gal so I let my coworkers devour the Tiramisu (it was all gone by the time the plate came back to me)! The cheesecake had such a soft and spongy consistency complemented with the crunchy bottom layer.I wished I'd gotten more photogenic photos of the appetizers and pastas but we were all so excited and dug in the moment they reached our table. The Chicago local person on my team who had organized this event is a repeat customer here and had set up team dinners here in the past (the previous group had also raved a lot about the pasta)! If you are in corporate event planning and are looking for a wonderful place for a team dinner, this is a very good place to book! I can also see myself coming here on a solo or date night if given the chance!

I have been to RPM Italian many times and it has yet to disappoint. The atmosphere & dining room of this restaurant is like no other in the city. The food is exceptional & the service goes above and beyond. For appetizers, I would really recommend the truffled garlic bread, bluefin tuna crudo, and the steak tartare. They are all really good and priced fairly. For mains, I would recommend the rigatoni alla vodka for anyone looking for something safe or if you are a vegetarian, if you like meat/seafood then the lobster ravioli & short rib bolognese is exceptional as well.

Pre-meal: Reservations suggested but there were a few empty tables at 7 pm on Memorial Day.Room: Upscale, luxe, white tablecloths.Picture-taking: Dark, candlelit.Beverages: Nice cocktail program but expensive including several specialty cocktails that were more than $25 each. I drink a lot of Negronis and theirs is barrel-aged and delicious. Good WBTG choices too. Menu: Fairly standard Italian and Italian-American fare but elevated with plenty of luxury ingredients like truffles, aged prosciutto, Wagyu beef, lobster, king crab, giant prawns.Food: Generally very well prepared, but not pushing the envelope. Standout appetizers included arancini and a great Caesar salad. The caprese salad was elevated with large chunks of lobster. Pastas were ok. The short rib bolognese with pappardelle was good. The carbonara was touted as "one of Chicago's best" but was not authentic and not very good. Our entrees were a bit uneven too. The grilled giant prawns were hammered. Chicken parmesan was gigantic and delicious. Chicken Vesuvio was elevated with truffles; this was also a huge portion and came with great Vesuvio potatoes. Squid ink pasta with king crab was bland. Salmon and branzino dishes were reportedly very good. We shared one dessert , the blueberry cheesecake, and it was quite good.Service: Smart, helpful, a bit slow.Price: Expensive.Value: Low.Summary: Upscale Italian featuring luxury ingredients and prices to match.

I came to this establishment for a happy hour. Not so many places to do. Happy hour and this one was so satisfactory that have quite a few dishes on the menu and drinks for that matter. You're able to be in a bar. Area, and that area does how small seating available for you to get comfortably comfortable?Enjoy your items

I wish I could've given this place a 5/5. I expected a 5/5 considering their sister restaurant, RPM steak was amazing. My table was placed right near the entrance at a corner table with barely any room. I can't even rate the ambiance of this place because I only experienced it from our little corner near the entrance. The waiter was nice, but the whole experience felt rushed. It felt like he was rushing to get us in and out of the restaurant and I didn't like that at all.We ordered the ricotta bread and octopus for appetizer and it was good. I've had more tender octopus but it wasn't bad. For main dishes we got rigatoni Ala vodka, spaghetti and meatballs, and eggplant parmesan. All very delicious.I'd be willing to give this place another chance since I did like the food. Hopefully I'm not feeling rushed out next time!

Went to dinner here last weekend and still dreaming about it. My husband and I sat in the bar area, which was a perfect ambience for a romantic meal out. Our server was super helpful and gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and order different courses. We started with the truffle/garlic bread which was to die for. Seriously can't stop thinking about this bread. For appetizers, we got a special peach and prosciutto special as well as the meatballs. We also got two pasta courses - the carbonara and the bologna. the food was so delicious and fresh considering we got multiple appetizers, entrées, and drinks, the price was also very reasonable. Already cannot wait to return to Chicago to get back here!

Definitely excellent food. The menu was extensive and food was absolutely good. They have great food and so fantastic. From appitizer to main dish. The food was excellent top-quality. The Spicy king crab was well-cooked and so delicious. So decent food and perfect for special occassions. They have plenty of seating and interior setting was so good with pleasant ambiance.

We had an awesome dinner last night at RPM Italian--perfect after a long work week and perfect for date night. We started off with cocktails. RPM has season cocktails, and I recommend the old fashion. My hubby got the spritz and giggles, which is a staple on the menu. Our first course consisted of the RPM salad and the meatballs. One can never go wrong with the meatballs!! We also got the caccio e pepe as a second course to share. The caccio e pepe was really rich but good. For dinner, I got the chicken vesuvio. Hubby got the rabbit cassoulet (a special). I got a taste of the rabbit and it was good! Definitely give it a try!! We also got a side of the shaved brussels sprouts to share.Dinner ended with the banana tiramisu, which was to die for. It was a perfect blend of banana cake, banana tiramisu and chocolate -- so good!!Service was impeccable as always. One can never go wrong with RPM--just make sure you have a reservation!!

UNBELIEVABLE!Went for my fiancés 30th birthday and they put us in a beautiful large booth for the two of us for the special occasion. It felt fancy but modern in a good way. We started with cocktails (old fashioned and dirty martini) which were both great. And the Caesar salad with truffle bread (a must both were phenomenal). For our entrees we had the carbonara and chicken Parmesan which were also both amazing paired with a white wine and cab recommended by our amazing server. We ended with what we thought was just going to be an espresso martini but ended up being one of the best Prosecco's we ever had and a small raspberry sorbet on the house. I absolutely love this feeling on a special occasion and this place nailed it . We would return over and over again!

Decent food, but piss poor service. My entire party felt as is if the staff was rushing us through the experience. Save your money and go somewhere that will let you relax and enjoy your meal.
