I have enjoyed spending my last two Sundays on their patio for lunch. And see this becoming a new favorite spot for summer. Their chimichurri sauce is fabulous. So, the Chimichurri Steak salad is my go-to for greens. I tend to treat myself to the White Trash nachos after - adding guacamole, chicken and steak. Because I am indeed white trash. Friendly, attentive service and killer mules. See you next Sunday!

I really want to give this place five stars. The food... excellent! The staff... very friendly. The atmosphere... great! The smell... horrid.Wait, what?I've been going to Rocks for years. I live in NYC but have relatives in the area and Rocks was a place we used to go to all the time. It was a place I really looked forward to visiting. But last year (late '22) I went and it was a really bad experience, all because of the smell. I thought 'Ok, they must've spilled something out back and the smell was a mix of the cleaning solution and whatever it was.But then I came back in April of 23. Same smell. Family too said they don't like going there anymore for the same reason. And here we are again, Nov 23 and... same horrid smell!I tried to bring it to the attention of the manager on duty, but they said they couldn't smell it. This makes zero sense to me and my girlfriend because it was **incredibly** overpowering to us both. So bad we couldn't sit in the bar area at all, and it was only marginally better back in the 'game area' with the tables. The only thing we can think of is perhaps it's like when a person who is wearing an obscene amount of perfume can barely smell it because their nose just 'gave out' on them.I would strongly encourage the staff to take a break, go stand outside and take a few deep breaths. Maybe even bring some coffee beans as that tends to 'reset' your sense of smell (and why they use them in perfume shoppes.) Then, go back inside and take a deep breath. If you even can.Now again, I love the staff, the environment, and it's easily one of the best burgers in Chicago. That's why it pains me to say they really need to get that smell under control or they're going to keep being as empty as they were, and have been for the past year. It's just not the same. I don't want to lose Rocks to the economy, but I also want to enjoy my visit. Please, Rocks... ask around. You'll see we're not making this up. Don't let this be your downfall.

Great neighborhood bar, friendly bartender, nice staff. Pool table, dart board, tons of TVs to watch sports, music playing. Perfect neighborhood sports bar! I had the classic Chicago burger, my fiancé had the Buffalo chicken wrap and both were great! 1 critique: spare me some tots! I got the tots with my burger and ... they barely put any on my plate. Tots are cheap, use that to your advantage for a better presentation! I like this place, if I'm the area again, we will absolutely be back!

Great spot to watch a game, have some elevated pub fare and drinks. Staff is efficient and courteous. Space is large and menus are on QR codes. This place has shuffleboard and pool available too. They take reservations, but we went in a Tuesday night and had it pick of tables. I highly recommend the Southwest salad!

We had an issue with a grubhub driver - entirely out of the control of Rocks. We called the restaurant to see where our order was, the manager spoke to us immediately, investigated the issue, called us back in 5 minutes. Really attentive service that you don't always find. Also, very solid bar food.

This restaurant is okay, but not the best, and the service here was super slow when we dined in when the restaurant wasn't even busy. It took the five of us almost an hour to get mediocre-tasting bar food. I tried the buffalo garlic parmesan wings, and they were okay, but (1) they are not "jumbo" like the menu states and (2) they were pretty dry to me and should have some more sauce on top. Next time I know to ask them to pour some of the sauce on top before I get it so that I can actually taste the hot sauce OR I will just get something else altogether instead. I feel I am a wing connoisseur because all I do is eat chicken wings at most places if they have good flavor combinations, so I am pretty picky. My dad ordered The Rocks burger and he didn't care for it too much. He said it lacked flavor and that it was pretty dry.I ordered the Kush 420 Mango beer because I had no idea it even existed, and it was delicious. I have never been to a restaurant that offered this, though be aware because the smell of weed literally fills the whole table hahaha. Probably wouldn't get it again just because of the smell, but the taste was definitely good and different. As for the decor, the space is pretty big and has a pool table, shuffleboard, and dartboard. Honestly looks like any other typical neighborhood bar I have ever been to, but I do love that the windows open to the street.I feel that the only reason I would ever come back here voluntarily is for drinks, because they do have a pretty extensive beer menu, and if they have events like trivia or karaoke going on at night.

This was my first time here with my family of five for lunch. We were here on the Saturday before Saint Patrick's Day. As you can see from my pics the place was appropriately decorated for the occasion. I started with the Milk Punch #2 cocktail for $11. Milk Punch #2 is one of the oldest known cocktail recipes from Great Britain and colonial America during the 1700s. I enjoyed the clarification with milk which imparts a velvety body to the crystal-clear cocktail with notes of bright citrus, butterscotch, and a toasty bourbon finish. It is made with bourbon, lemon zest, orange zest, fresh lemon, OJ, sugar, and clarified whole milk. Caitlin said the 3 corned beef sliders for only $6 would satisfy my appetite. Caitlin was correct. I enjoyed my 3 corned beef sliders with hand carved corned beef topped with beer cheese dip on a mini classic roll. For the hungrier guy they also offered 6 sliders for only $10 or 9 sliders for $15. I can't imagine any guy eating 6 of these sliders or let alone 9 sliders. I ended my lunch with Guinness on draft for $7. Caitlin nicely served our table. My total bill was $109 less gratuities. I would definitely return here again. This will be my last review and last check-in until this pandemic ends. Stay healthy and well! Bye

I decided on Rocks as a late night weeknight date night because they served food until 1 am on a Wednesday. Sold! I was tired of going to the Grafton or Garcia's for the only late night options, so was pleasantly surprised to find this place near Lincoln square. My bf and I came in around 11:30 on that rainy Wednesday, and it was pretty dead. We sat at the bar. We had a really great bartender- he was funny and efficient, and made good conversation. Lo and behold, it was 1/2 off burger night! I went with the classic rocks burger as it had onion strings, which are my JAM! The burger was awesome. I loved the pretzel bun and I seriously wolfed the burger down in no time. That's weird for me as I can usually only finish half a burger that size. My bf has the September sandwich of the month and my god, I thought I died and went to heaven when I had a bite. Just thinking about it now makes me want it. Chicken fried steak, a spicy slaw and aoili with pickles....yeah it was incredible. I'm sad it's only a seasonal special. Anyways, go ahead and pencil me in here a few times a month because this experience was great. Excellent food, friendly and good service, and open late with great specials....what more could you want.

Great bar food, but yikes to sub-par (almost bad) service. Also, the interior of the place seems to have seen better times. Do like that all the windows open up to the street. The Lakeview location is so much better, however!

Rocks is fantastic! I love that they opened this location, as it's closer to home for me. They also have half price burger Wednesday, which you can't beat! The burgers include a half pound of meat and range from $11-13 or so, which makes them about $5-6 on special! Not to mention, the burgers are seriously great. The only downside is that any substitutions are charged as extras, since they believe so strongly in their recipes. To offset that, they do not charge extra for different sides, like sweet potato fries (which are killer). This location also does a whiskey night on Wednesdays, where they knock a dollar or so off of a few different pours, so if you're into that, definitely stop in. Aside from the tasting menu, they have a pretty large selection of whiskies, so do it up. The bartenders and servers are awesome, and there is plenty of space, so you could easily come in with a group of 4-6 during the week...not sure about on the weekends. They do have a "burger challenge" where there's a massively humongous burger that you can attempt to put down...I've never done it, or tried, but word is that there are quite a few people who have beaten it.There is street parking all along Lincoln, and if you're lucky, you can get one of the spots right on the stretch in front of their place, which are not (currently) metered.
