The food was wonderful. I had the chopped sirloin steak and it tasted like it was cooked outside on a grill. Delicious. Caesar salad was perfect with a mild homemade dressing. I can't wait to go back!

Robert's is my families go to place. My mother used to work there years ago and the family that owns it our so sweet and have nicknames for my family because we are always going there. Mary and Robert are the couple that own it and their son Tito works there also. The food has always been great and the cleaner Tony is hilarious, he has always helped out the servers with getting drinks for the customers and other items like silverware. The restaurant is very clean and the hostess is constantly cleaning the menus off. The food has always been excellent. Some things I recommend are their pasta, grilled chicken Caesar sala

First time here, it's open later than most places around. I had the chicken fingers with gravy and it was yummy! Light crispy batter and juicy chicken. Everything on the menu looked too so I'll be back!

We have eaten here many times. We've never been disappointed. You can call to reserve a table, but we've never had to wait very long at all and we're usually seated immediately. Their steaks are wonderful, and always cooked to order. But we've also enjoyed their fish and chicken dishes, and I've often ordered their amazing kabobs. Most entrees include soup or salad and a side. I've always enjoyed these, too. Soup options vary, but when offered, I love their tortilla soup. The steak soup is also great, of course. And the salads are always very fresh. My favorite side dish (I think they call them Sidewinders, lol) is the steamed vegetables, which include thin-sliced yellow squash and other veggies, always perfectly steamed and buttered. They have great iced tea, plus beer, wine and a full bar. There's plenty of parking. And it's conveniently located on 95 just off I-10. The place is well lit and not too noisy. There are other nice restaurants in Flatonia, too. It's got amazing options for its size. And we patronize them, as well. But this place has been our family favorite for a few years now. Check their hours. I believe they're closed Wednesdays. Also, get on their email list to see their lunch specials, which change regularly.

We had a great waitress . . . but when you have said that, you have said pretty much everything. My late mother had a "thing" about restaurants with "dim lighting." She hated when she could not see her food nor the surroundings (from the point of view of cleanliness and quality). She would NOT have liked Robert's, for the interior is exceedingly murky, and the effect isn't good / intimate . . . . it almost feels as though it is a means to hiding a rather unappetizing level of cleanliness. For example, the plastic menus were horribly STICKY, such that you felt your hands were no longer clean after holding them.. And their prime rib, when it came, really was not tasting (or looking, or smelling) good. But there was a bottle of red wine for just $20 . . . a bargain these days. They mixed a good Margarita. And the waitress was excellent. Yet, cheap wine notwithstanding, the final tab came to $136 with tip on top. Mroe than I was expecting "out in the country." If the interior was just made brighter, cleaner, and less "grungy" -- and the food tightened up -- I think there's plenty of potential here for a nice relaxing country steakhouse. I don't like giving overly negative reviews, but I think it's worth giving this one for it's a place that I wanted to like and jsut a few things would ahve made a huge difference for me. But at least they hired a great staff member. She did not venture her name . . or was it Donna perhaps? Sorry, my memory for names is always poor.
