Spring garden has massively changed in the last 5 years. Thankfully the Hispanic culture is still live in this place. The food/service was quick which I liked. Even though I was completely out of place, everyone made me feel pretty welcomed here. The ingredients were all fresh which I really liked. The meal was relatively cheap and filled me up. Glad places like this still exist and haven't been taken over by fake Mexican food from Juno and such.

Hole in the wall. Very good food. Nice service. Got the Al pastor tacos, the carnitas burrito and the fish tacos, as well as the rice and beans side and the chips and guac. Everything was good!

I love this place! The sign outside says "Restaurant Catracho" but I think the technical name is "Restaurant Tacos Locos Honduras and Mexican", which is a mouthful. They have Honduran food as well as Mexican. My first time here I got baleadas and pupusas and I loved them. There was a bit of a language barrier and they were in the middle of setting up for a private party but if all worked out ok. I stopped going for a while (I kind of just forgot about it). But recently I've had some Sunday burrito cravings and a lot of the places nearby are closed on Sundays. I love their burritos! Everything is very reasonably priced. Some of the cheapest food in the area, but that doesn't mean it's not good. I've tried many things from the menu and nothing has disappointed me.A standout is the pollo con tajadas (chicken with slices). It's fried chicken on top of a slaw with fried bananas, salsa, pickled onions and sauces. It's ridiculously good. Be careful when ordering from the menu and going off the English translation. Some of it is a little off. For instance, if it says "meat" it usually means beef. And if it says "steak" it means "fish filet". I've received meals that were different than what unexpected, but I've never been disappointed. The only things I think could be improved is their hot sauce is not very hot. Also the rice is just ok. I'm willing to look past this since the food is delicious, cheap, good portions and quick! Definitely give this place a try! Don't go to Juno or Chinesca unless you want to pay a lot of money for inferior food, but good ambiance. This place is definitely lacking ambiance, but I really don't care. By the way, you can order online from their website http://orderrestaranttacoslocoshondurasandmexicanfood.com/ (longest URL of all time)

This place is one of the more hole in the wall places I've eaten at. There is very little ambiance and decor, but y'know what the food is good so don't judge a book by its cover! I got the Flor de Loroco (Squash Blossom) pupusas and they were great! My friend got the chicken tacos and those were good too (very basic with lettuce and tomato). I also ordered guanabana juice and it came out so sweet and kind of powdery that I couldn't really drink it.Service was not great, there was some confusion because they don't speak English super well and we had to ask for things like forks and water a few times. Will probably be back to try some other things but will have to gage which of my coworkers are up for this type of atmosphere (or lack thereof).

The place leaves much to the eyes, it's not the brightest or shiniest, but they know what they are doing in the kitchen. The flavors are simple comforting and still complex. You'll find native Hondurans eating and enjoying each other's company. It's a charming and heart warming experience. Try to know some Spanish when going in, although I'm sure they could accommodate. I ordered takeout Pupusas with squash flowers and they we're the best I ever had! 10/10 would recommend. The service was fast and food was good. A great stop if you're headed to union transfer.

Restaurant Catracho is a hole-in-the-wall eatery right on the edge of Center City Philly. While it serves some Mexican dishes this is def an Honduran restaurant - hence the name. I was surprised to find out many of my friends didn't realize that Catracho is a name for someone from Honduras. It is not perjorative at all - no "bad hombres" connotation as one American leader once sadly called them.Well when you think of Honduran food of course first comes to mind are 'Baleadas.' These thick flour tortillas folded over eggs, cheese, and meats like chicken or chorizo are indeed a tasty treat. I odered two roasted chicken & chorizo baleadas here and enjoyed these filling concoctions very much. You can eat-in here (minimal atmosphere) but most of their business is takeout. Cool that now tasty baleadas are to be found within easy reach of Center City!

This place is not the most visually lovely, it really isn't. But I loved the pupusas and pastellitos de papas. Order in advance, these plates are a labor of love and it will save you a lot of time.

My husband daughter and I came to this restaurant 7/23/23. When you arrive it's a little discouraging appearance wise because I was looking for a full blown restaurant. I went off solely reviews when picking this place. It's small and simple. People were fine, not overly friendly but definitely not rude at all. Relaxed people and atmosphere. I ordered chicken nachos, my hubby ordered shrimp quesadilla, side of rice as well. Food came out in a nice amount of time. you can tell everything was freshly made and presented well. We had a side of chips and salsa waiting for our food. It was fresh made chips and sauces were great. I don't know the name of the sauces but one was green the other red/orange (spicy). It was great! Our food came and we dug right in. We had not one single complaint and I'm a very picky eater. I've been working on not substituting or changing anything about an order and I feel it makes the experience better. Definitely would recommend eating here, we will be back soon for sure!!
