I've been to RedCrest twice now, once shortly after they opened, and this week with a very different menu from what it used to be. The current menu is simple and very appealing with many things that looked great. I had the fried chicken platter - which I think is their signature dish - and it was GREAT! Crisp yummy crust encasing juicy delicious tasty chicken. Some of the best fried chicken I've had! Two delicious buttermilk biscuits. The greens were not quite the same level, could have been more greens less soupy (but a minor criticism relative to the positive). And two icy cold beers made this a perfect down-home style meal. What made it even better is that, unbeknownst to me until the check came, the fried chicken is half-price on Tuesdays - so what a bargain! The place is comfortable and lively but not too noisy (mid-week dinner), and service was attentive and responsive. I left before Quizzo started, but planning to come back for that one evening. I'll definitely be back.

Great lunch spot! We stopped here around 1:00 for a later lunch last weekend and were pretty impressed. I wish I took a picture of the decor inside, as you can see in other's reviews it's really trendy and cute inside. There is also plenty of seating and space as opposed to how tight some other city places can get. The staff were very kind and attentive. We tried the chicken and waffles sandwich with the gravy on the side as well as the caesar salad with crispy chicken. The chicken and waffles sandwich was really good, especially dipping into the gravy. The fries were good too. The salad was very fresh and tasty. The only "complaint" would be the crispy chicken in the salad had quite a few fatty-like pieces I had to leave to the side. Everything besides this though was really yum! We agreed to definitely be back to see if this place can reach 5-star level!

I've always had a nice, casual but delicious meal here and I appreciated it as a solid neighborhood spot! Chicken is delicious and the sides with dinner dishes are tasty. Brunch is also very good and well done! Full service bar as well. Staff is friendly but the wait for food feels a little long but you can tell they're making things fresh and with care in the kitchen. I like Redcrest!

This spot got a nice aesthetic to it as I'm glad they upgraded from the last spot on Passyunk. The good was pretty damn good. Came in here craving fried chicken so I got the OG buttermilk chicken sandwich and it was as good as it was in the old spot. Breading was flavorful and the chicken meat was juicy on the inside. Service was excellent. You know they accommodated kids when u can color on the kids menu and they dont come with just two crayons lol. They got plenty of local beers on tap. Will def come back and try the other things on the menu.

Pretty disappointed in my most recent visit. We walked in, there were no customers in the restaurant, and we stood at the entrance for quite a while before we were acknowledged by the bartender. Maybe they were having a bad night but we felt rushed and like we were inconveniencing them. The drinks were good. I really hope they figure things out because it's a beautiful space they've built.

I loved redcrest when it was in East Passyunk so I was very excited to try out the kitchen! A friend and I went for brunch and it was great! My Bloody Mary was seriously delicious (spicy the way I like them!) and we split a bowl of chicken tenders. The chicken is just as good as I remembered. I ordered the blueberry pancakes which bc were so fluffy and also ginormous! The stack has 5 pancakes so I brought home leftovers, but you could also order this plate to share. The rest of the menu looked great CD and I'll definitely be coming back!

I was eager to try Redcrest, having been a longtime loyalist to their original fried chicken stand. We chose the brunch menu and ordered the chicken wings, pancakes, and house made sausage. All the food was delicious, plentiful, and worth ordering again. The ambiance and service were superb. Overall, Redcrest Kitchen provided a comprehensive dining experience. The bone-in fried chicken is available on the dinner menu, so I plan to return to try it!

Redcrest Kitchen is the Cafe / Diner on 6th St. just a one block south of Philadelphia's famous South St.;In other words, it's right where all of the action is.On this rare rather warm Saturday (short sleeve shirt in Philadelphia in Mid-March-really?) we got a outdoor table for our brunch and basked in the sun.My wife shared a hotdog and Caesar salad with my sons girlfriend, my son also had a Caesar with an order of fries and I had their very good;2 scrambled eggs A wedge of excellent hash browns Two breakfast sausagesAnd some whole grain toastTo say we were all "Happy Campers" with this first rate meal combined with accomplished service would be an understatement.Along with a not too expensive bill, made this trip to the Redcrest Kitchen an outstanding experience.

Ordered take out tonight for the first time. Place closes at 10 PM. Placed a 9 PM order. Spouse ordered a burger without the special sauce (he does not like cream/mayo based sauces) -- $18. I got the Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich $15. When we got home and opened our food, burger had special sauce on it, chicken sandwich was soggy, no crisp to the chicken at all, also chicken sandwich had no garlic aioli on it as advertised. No one was in the place at 9:40 on a Saturday night. Not sure how they are staying afloat. I guess overcharging for poor quality food.
