Red Circle Ice Cream

Inscribed along the hallway back wall reads, "Stressed spelled backwards is Desserts." That's not only brilliant, but 100% true.The notion of flipping life's pressures for something sweet and satisfying is for many of us, a full circle moment, or in this case, a Red Circle one. The last few years have been good to them, as they has become one of the most well reviewed ice cream spots in Houston Chinatown.Their soft serve is some of the best in the neighborhood. Smooth, sweet, and the perfect escape from a hot weather day. It also doesn't hurt that their place is heavy with the AC and a good amount of seating to boot. Their busiest days are weekends and summer afternoons, but I have never had a problem bringing a group here to enjoy a frozen treat.Churros and ice cream will always be a winning combo, especially in our neck of the woods. Try all their pufflicious combos, but especially the Chino Churro. The glazed and frosty churros are also a thing, and a fun one at that for folks who aren't about the ice cream. The prices are around $7-8 for a ice cream-churro combo, which seems to be normal nowadays.Service is usually easy going and the vibe is super casual. They also have merch on sale (t-shirts are fire!) and the parking situation is fairly easy with a dedicated parking lot.

Been wanting to try this place for a long time and usually have been calling in to check if their Elmo Crunch was in rotation. We were looking for a place that had egg waffles and this was our backup. We ordered a Churro Puff and a Pufflelicious. I noticed the prices said starting at $9.50 and $8.50 respectively but nothing on the menu indicated an upsell, upcharge, or extra. At no point in time while ordering did the cashier mention that what I chose was going to cost extra. I assumed picking a coffee egg waffle flavor or churro flavor was inclusive. I had already mentioned at the beginning that it was our first time here. Would've liked an explanation. After paying, I only noticed how much our orders were: $11.95 and $10.50. I asked the workers for an explanation and he just rolled his eyes with zero sympathy. There is nothing on the menu that indicates what will cost extra.

My husband was craving for churros, so we decided to try Red Circle based on high number of good reviews on Yelp. However, we noticed how terrible the establishment reeked of toilet/restroom the moment we walked in --I was close to turning around and walking back out, but there were many customers already dining at the establishment. It seemed like they were used to the smell, so I decided to stay and we too, were acclimated to the odor pretty quickly.Aside from the smell, the rest of our experience at the establishment was good. They offered to sample their ice cream flavors, so we were able to explore their unique, homemade flavors, including crawfish! But ultimately, we decided to stay on the safe side of things and ordered:o. Churro daddy with regular churros and cookies & cream ice cream with cookie butter on topo. Churro puff with regular churros, egg waffle and Nutella, and ube ice creamThe final products were certainly Instagram-worthy, but we're too old for that. But even their aesthetics aside, the food was good overall, as I enjoyed the egg waffle and my husband really liked his churros. I highly recommend this place if you're adventurous, as they also have unique combinations of churros and egg waffle, like hot Cheeto churros!

OMG!!! This place is a must try. The Puffelicious waffle is amazing. They make is fresh to order & it comes warm with a nice crunch against the cold creamy ice cream. You can choose a topping or even have a flavor inside. I chose the cinnamon sugar sprinkled over it. But my friend had fruity pebbles inside. You can also order churros original or dipped with a flavor or topping of your choice. I'm already planning my next trip back!

Red Circle has unique flavors like the matcha oreo (my personal fav) and elmo crunch (their version of cookies and cream - aka the red one in the picture).Theyre also known for their churros, bubble waffles, and macarons. I would totally recommend this place, especially the matcha oreo flavor :)

Was in the area & looked up dessert places & came across this place. It was great. Not a huge selection of ice cream but lots of different churros to choose from. I got the Oreo covered churros with Elmo cookie ice cream & a waffle drizzled with Nutella. Churros are so soft & ice cream was good too. Waffle was just so so. The service is slow but it's busy & everything is made to order so it's understandable. The cafe is pretty packed but it's still relatively quiet. It actually hit max occupancy while we were there.

We love going to Red Circle! The churros and ice cream are delicious! I will say there is a wait but it's so worth it! We enjoyed our time there :)

Really solid spot for unique hong Kong egg waffle, churro, and ice cream dessert! The concept of this dessert shop seems to be a mix of Hispanic and Asian flavors, which is great! I came here specifically for the ube flavored ice cream and it did not disappoint. It is my favorite ube ice cream in town, and I haven't found anything that compares yet! Most people come here for the ice cream/churro combo as they make all of their churros in house and fresh. They are hot when they are served. There are many different flavors and toppings you can choose for your churro and egg waffle. They also have other toppings for ice cream as well. Really solid place!

I screamed for ice cream and got exactly what I wanted.I was glad to see a Red Circle open closer to home. I'm not big on ice cream, but the churro & hot caramel cone gets me every time. It's a nice setup inside; can accommodate intimate groups and is located near a lot of restaurants. It's positioned in a good area to drop in, after a meal, for dessert.
