Ranck's Lunchmeats

Love their ribs. We bought four pounds the last time, and had ribs for three days. Great lunch meat also. Their roast ham was delicious!

One of the pleasures of living in my neighborhood is having a great deli inside the Chestnut Hill Farmers Market called Ranck's.  It has been there forever I think.  And the name is Amish so it must have roots in Lancaster County which helps account for the quality of what it purveys. You can get so much here beyond just meats and sandwiches - if you eat sausages they are actually very tasty - and some of their prepared preparations will add plenty of flavor to any dinner.  But they do the basics well too - like our Philly Hoagie.  It's my favorite hoagie spot in Chestnut Hill and they throw in a classic bag of our Pennsylvania Utz potato chips for good measure.  Ranck's in the farmer's market is a Chestnut Hill institution.

Dreaming of this cheesesteak which forever changed the outlook on #phillyfood ! The typical more famous places DO NOT compare to this cheesesteak right here and the fries were fried to perfection! @ranckslunchmeat , just WOW. Randomly found @marketatthefareway driving through #chestnuthillpa and so glad we stopped! Super cute food stall eatery, with @chestnuthillbrewingcompany with the refreshments & super cute vibe tucked away off #germantownave ! This is a must try if you're traveling to Philly!

We love Rancks! Been coming here for a couple years (since we've lived in the neighborhood) and the guys behind the counter are always super nice and helpful. They offer good quality meats and cheeses, as well as other salads, wraps and side dishes. Definitely our go-to for lunch time, and the rest of market is an added bonus to spend time perusing.

Ranck's Deli, located at the back of the Chestnut Hill Farmer's Market, is a great lunch spot. The sandwiches are fantastic and reasonably priced. I love their breakfast sandwiches as well. Really nice people behind the counter and the food on display looks great. Very highly recommended.

A short guy who works here was very very rude and had an attitude because I did not call the bread by the name he preferred. I said I'm not from here so I'm not sure what you guys call it. While making it he kept giving me the side eye. I told myself maybe he is just having a bad day. He then made my sandwich and it was not the size that I was speaking of (which he did not try to help me pick out or anything) so I caught the attention of another employee because he was busy, this guy was tall and heavy set with a beard. He was even more rude than the last, I told him that the last time I came there (which was only once before) I had a bigger size sandwich. He replies in a very nasty, condescending tone " it's a hoagie not a hero and we gave you a break last time." I said you're from philadelphia and that's what you guys call it it's fine we call it a hero in new york it's the same thing, different names, what does it matter no reason to be so rude. He didnt respond to me. I will never spend my money here again and I will encourage others not to as well.
