Wow. I don't even know if I have a picture to show you. I may need to go back and get more to get a pic. Haha It was fantastic. The ribs were slow-cooked and tender with flavor that went through the meat to the bone. The sweet potato was caramelized and decadent like a dessert. The macaroni and cheese was very cheesy and definitely American (I am Caribbean so I have a different way of our macaroni and cheese). The fried chicken was crispy and crunchy (Remember all crunch will disappear if microwaved but it is still delicious). I will update once I taste the potato salad and collard greens. The cake they give you is a typical add-on so don't get annoyed if you get a sliver. You are so loaded up on carbs from the macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, breading on the chicken and the small Hawaiian roll that... your cholesterol will thank you for not adding on a hunk of cake. That lemon cake was made correctly though even if it reminded me of a slice of Betty Crocker cake. :) The stars of these dishes are the food! Sunday it was open over on Millbrook with proceeds heading to the TCC ministry. I feel like I did something great for mind, body and spirit. Yum!!!

I hate doing this to black owned businesses but I have to be honest. For $30 I was not satisfied at all. I'd heart good things about this place and it did not live up to the hype! The meat really did taste as if it was refried or the grease was old. Definitely wasn't fresh. The macaroni and cheese was just noodles and cheese, no flavor. The yams were stringy. The turkey collards were the only thing I enjoyed. The "cake" was honestly a mini portion of a store bought pound cake. I felt totally ripped off when I could've dinned in elsewhere for a completely different experience for $30. The staff was very nonchalant when I introduced myself as a first time customer asking for suggestions. There aren't many designated soul food places in Raleigh and I feel like this is totally a missed opportunity and it's unfortunate because I drove almost 30 min each way just for them.

I kept seeing their fliers all around my job, so I decided to give them a shot. I have been craving candied yams for quite some time & I never got the kind I loved...with the syrup...sweet and delicious!!! I have finally got what I needed here!!! Their candied yams are DELICIOUS. I actually got their food 2 days in a row. Lol. The wingettes were not really fresh the first night & neither were the shrimp. I let that go because the yams made up for it. The second night I got a fish sandwich. It was fresh. My son liked their Mac-n-cheese. I will definitely go back!

Had been hearing a lot of buzz about this food truck, so I was finally able to swing by and pick up a plate. Their menu consists of fried chicken, baked chicken, BBQ ribs, fried shrimp and fried fish. For their sides you can choose from macaroni and cheese, candied yams, collard greens and potato salad. You can also get a fish or chicken sandwich. Each plate comes with a dessert. When I tell you all this food was amazing, it was absolutely delicious! Had their BBQ ribs, mac and cheese and collard greens. Everything was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. They definitely have some soul food cooking Momma's in that truck cooking the food!

Happy 4th of July! I saw ad for this food truck and you know me I'm all in to try sum Soul Food. I got the under the sea for my sister and rib/chicken meal for moi with extra collards. I took shots of her dish with envy I can no longer eat any seafood sadly, cuz her shrimp looked soooooo good, big light battered and fried. Sides were spot on yams and greens plus a slice of cake. These entrees took me back to my youth helping sell plates for church. It was a must that I devour ribs on this holiday and I was so pleased with my food. I dove in first to those succulent collards omg macncheese......my fingers were slathered in rib juice and sauce. Oh yes I so pigged out with no remorse at all. I shall be back and telling all my Yelpers check out this delight.

From the pictures and reviews on Facebook I thought I was in for a real treat. I ordered the two meat combo with fried fish and fried chicken. My sides were macaroni and cheese and collard greens. All plates come with a slice of lemon cake. My total was $15. The food was just okay for me. The fish had no taste oh, I would rate it a 5. The Fried Chicken was okay but it was better with the hot sauce; I would rate it a 6. The mac and cheese was the best; I would rate it an eight. The collard greens were a little bland for my taste; I would rate it at 6.

My co-worker and I were so excited to find some soul food in the Raleigh area, so when we saw the advertisement for mama soul food on Facebook, we couldn't wait for our lunch break to try it. It was a 10 min drive to the food truck. We both order the fish plate, which came with two sides. I order Greens and potato salad, and he ordered greens and macaroni and cheese. They wrapped both plates up, and we drove back to work. As I open the plate, I can tell that the potato salad look generic and was store bought, but I decided to try it. As I bit into it.... yup, it was; there was nothing freshly made about it. I went over to the fish, and YUCK; it was disgusting. It was very bland. There was hardly any season on it, and I it had a terrible fishy taste. I looked over at my co-worker and saw his face as he picked through the fish. I asked him how did he like it, and he said, "This crap is disgusting." I asked him how was the macaroni and cheese, and he said it tastes worst than Velveeta store-bought. We both decided it was best to not finish our food in fear we might have to make a emergency visit to the stall at work. This food definitely needs an overhaul and NEED to use fresh ingredients. This was definitely NOT food for the SOUL.
