Jillian S. "Solid choice for Chinese food in Holly Springs. Prices are reasonable, portions are large, and flavors and options are as expected.Ample menu options: typical menu items that you would see at a N.C. based Chinese restaurant plus additional American items. We chose the sweet and sour chicken ($12.29), chicken fried rice ($5.39 for small and $9.79 for large), sesame tofu ($12.99), shrimp lo mein ($5.99 for small), and wonton soup ($4.79 for large). Portions are large. After enjoying some for dinner, I used the rest for packed lunches. I particularly enjoyed the sesame tofu and wonton soup. The sweet and sour chicken was a bit greasy, but not an issue after 5 minutes in the air fryer. Flavors are as expected: nothing too fancy, but exactly what we wanted. The wonton soup had excellent texture and rich flavor. The sesame tofu was seasoned well, as were the fried rice and lo mein dishes. Multiple ordering options: Order online, over the phone, or at the counter (by circling what you want on the menu). I chose to order online (only option is to pay at pick up). I received a confirmation text and then a second text 12 minutes later saying my order was ready for pick up. The order was ready upon arrival and accurate. Condiments and fortune cookies are set out in self-serve boxes. Good customer service: Employees are welcoming, efficient, and helpful. The lady working the counter (and several other positions) was enthusiastic and quick. I arrived to pick up my order and selected the hanging receipt matching my order number.Parking: parking is available on both sides of the lot near the restaurant. At busy times this area gets busy making it difficult to maneuver and park. Lowes foods is close by with a larger parking lot. Therefore, you will find a spot, you just may have to walk a little. Earlier in the day and after work I have easily found a close spot.We recommend this restaurant to others and would choose takeout from here again!"

Jill C. "Absolutely loved my lunch here yesterday. The sweet lady that took our order recommended how to mix the sauces that came with our cold noodle dishes. We got the spicy rice noodle and the spicy wheat noodles along with the Chinese hamburger and the glutinous rice with dates. Everything was delicious! We even ordered an extra spicy cold wheat noodles to go. I spoke with the server and let her know how happy I was to find a place that served Shanxi style food. I just recently moved here after living in Las Vegas for 26 years and this is the closest food to Big Dan Shanxi in Las Vegas. My sister who'd never tried cold noodles before, really liked it too. My mom likes the Chinese hamburger as it's reminiscent of a pulled pork sandwich without the bbq sauce. The glutinous rice dessert was mildly sweet and very sticky which I love. I'm already planning my next trip back!"

Ordered before I left work, and everything was ready and waiting for me when I arrived ten minutes later. We could not have been happier with the quality, quantity and taste of everything we ordered. From the crab rangoon, to the Thai Basil Chicken dinner combo that came with fried rice and an egg roll, to the Malay Sambal Chicken and the Black Pepper Shrimp, everything was terrific! We ordered dinner that same night and when I picked it up I asked the cashier how long they had been open she said it had been about a month. That is my confusion as there are reviews here that are much older than that. Maybe they were in a previous location? Who knows? Now to the review:We moved to Raleigh over 3 years ago and have not had great luck finding what we consider good Chinese food. I saw what we consider as people we have talked to said this place or that place is really good l, but we tried some of them and it was not to our taste. So when we received the coupon we figured let's give this place a shot and I am very happy that we did. The portions were good sized, the price was fair and the food was still hot when we got it home and we truly enjoyed everything we tried. The egg rolls were good and I have not had a good egg roll in years, even before we moved from The DMV I could not find a good egg roll. Give this place a try and post your review. We liked it and it is now our go to Chinese place in North Raleigh for take out. We are looking forward to trying other dishes in the future."

I moved to the area about 10 months ago, and it has been about that time since I have had any asian food. Here comes King Chinese Buffet:Selection: there were two hot food stands and one cold. Four soups. Best items are the white steamed fish (very authentic), mein fun, and pang beef. I had the sweet and sour soup that needed more black vinegar (maybe it is adjusted for the locals). Hot food kept coming out and stations filled. Nothing under the heatlamp too long. Score: 3/5Service: Very chinese, meaning that they're straight and to the point. Plates were removed regularly and drinks refilled without asking. Score: 5/5Location: covid regulations allow for cleaner eating. Was given a plastic glove and we had foam plates and forks. The seating is still next to another patron, not 6 feet. Score: 3/5I wont come back but the prices are decent. I did not regret coming."

Vu T. "The people who gave this spot bad reviews are out of their minds. You can tell a lot about a buffet based off of how clean their bathrooms are. And what I tell you this spot was SPOTLESS!! Came here on a Tuesday and there were a decent amount of people there. I prefer crawfish so I asked the owner to make me some more since they were out because we came a little later. He obliged and had them coming until we left. Everything they had were subpar but by no means they were cold or would have caused you to get sick. A buffet like this, you tend to eat the food that you see coming out and rather the ones that you see that has been sitting there. Their mechanism that was used to keep the food warm worked well, as there was nothing I had that was cold. Is this the best buffet I have ever had? Definitely not... was this the best buffet that I could have asked for on a Tuesday night in a small town/city, definitely YES!!"

A spoon and fork as well as chopsticks were provided. There were many different dishes to choose from including hot dishes, cold dishes , fruit, desserts and sushi. There was fresh ginger and wasabi available and soy sauce on the tables. The hot dishes I got were a good temperature. The food was replaced often. Everything I had was ok, just not outstanding. I was surprised at how many seafood dishes there were, which I took advantage of most of them. There were people cleaning tables and sweeping often, so it appeared pretty clean. Hand sanitizer was available. I didn't try everything, but enjoyed most of what I had. One of our group comes here often and says there's more selection at dinner and on the weekends, but the price is more. I would consider returning. Wish I could give it a 3.5 ."

Ann H. "Okay. This place is okay. For service and friendliness of the employees, its a winner. For the food, it's a tossup between "meh" and "okay". Maybe I ordered the wrong things, but I just didn't find the food to be all that memorable. The sweet and sour pork was bread-y. There was too much batter on it and it tasted like it was cooked in old oil. The pot stickers were filling, but there was way more "outside" than "inside" and it was like eating dough.Because of the other positive reviews and the steady stream of customers with take-out orders, I'm inclined to think I need to try again and order something else. Based on this experience, though, I think there are better choices for take-out Chinese than what I had here."Okay" it is, at least for now."

I was craving simple Chinese takeout and this place did the trick. I ordered some shrimp and broccoli, which came with a side of white rice. The portion didn't seem a lot at first but once I poured it on my plate, WOW! Shrimp & Broccoli - The sauce complimented it just the way I like it. There was just enough sauce to give it a kick. The shrimps were huge! Most places cheap put on the shrimp. The broccoli also had a nice bite and crunch to it. Dumplings: Must have! Not your typical dumplings. Super flavorful with a nice texture to the wrapper. It also came with a special sauce that was out of this world. Overall, good customer service! The service has been spot on, super friendly, and helpful. On my most recent visit I went with a larger group so we were able to try a great variety. First off the Peking duck is delicious. You have to call them or note you your reservation that you would like the duck. The skin was so crispy and I loved the fresh pancakes and elevated sauces. Dipping the crispy skin in sugar was not something I've tried before. Our server helped us navigate the menu a bit. We ended up getting their filet and two types of fishes to share to share for entrees. The fish that they boil in hot oil was amazing. It didn't have a super enticing description on the menu, but our server let us know that it wasn't crazy spicy and was perfect for sharing. It held true to his promises! The filet also melted in your mouth and the table loved the beef dumplings as appetizers. I also love that they bring out a little red velvet cake with a candle if you are there for a celebration. The lady at the counter seemed pleasant. Impressed she didn't even write down my order. Food came out fast! I waited out in the car and it was probably 7-10min.I went with the Sesame Chicken lunch special, wanton soup and vegetable lo mein. Total was $15 and change. The food was pretty good... surprisingly, I felt like it could use some salt, mainly the pork fried rice. The sesame chicken was what I expected, sweet sticky sauce over crispy fried chicken. The lo mein was a little more (garlicky?) than I am used to but it was still good with fresh crisp veggies. I think my favorite was the wanton soup! It came with a decent number of wantons too! I was so pleasantly surprised by how fast the food came out and how tasty it was. My husband and I both ordered a signature rice noodle soup where you select the type of broth and protein you want. I had the Golden broth and my husband went for the Szechuan. He loves spicy so it was perfect for him. We both got fatty beef for protein. The broth comes with everything on the side for you to add in. The first thing you add is the little quail egg and your protein. Then all of the veggies and your noodles. By the time you finish adding everything in your broth will settle to the perfect eating temperature. I was skeptical about the egg, thinking it would be hard by the time I ate it, but it was still decently runny inside. The portion is large and I was very full by the end. We both got an egg roll and while good, nothing spectacular and know we can do without them next time. lolWe have been on a search for GOOD fried rice and based on the pictures here on Yelp, Mei Wei's looked like it might end the search. We ordered a small chicken fried rice and it definitely hit passed the test. The only (and this is just a personal preference for me) thing I would change is adding egg, carrots and onions to it. Then it would be perfect!!!I ordered the general tso's and it was so good. The chicken was not soggy, not only is the portion enough for 2 meals, the chunks of chicken are a really good size. The food tastes a lot fresher and cleaner than some Chinese restaurants I've been to for sure, and I really love their egg rolls and lunch specials. Additionally, they seem to have a wider variety of options than most Chinese restaurants. As it is with most counter service Chinese takeout restaurants, the service is pretty blunt and sometimes even rude. I've traveled all over, and have never found an order of chicken wings, shrimp fried rice and egg rolls as good as these. I am constantly left in utter disappointment and longing whenever I try another restauraunts' wings. (Top's wings are literally always that good.)Everything is always perfectly fried and seasoned. The wings have a distinct flavor (ginger..I think) that I've found that most Chinese places cannot replicate. The only ones that came close were in Philly. I've been coming here for over 20 years. Like many Chinese restaurants that have been around that long, the menu hasn't changed much and neither has the staff. It's a family-run business and the same people have been working there since they were teenagers when their parents ran the joint. They keep it short, straight to the point and no-frills just like their menu. But your order is always correct and delivered quickly.Though I love the wings, I have literally tried just about everything on the menu and it has all been yummy. I went through different phases: a period of time where I would only eat there sesame chicken, then their shrimp and broccoli, then their beef and broccoli, then their rib tips. This was standard Friday night fare when I was growing up and still is whenever I make it over here on a Friday.NOTE: If you're skittish, come during the day. It is considered to be the "hood" so be aware. It is definitely meant for takeout. They have tables, but I've only seen a few people eat at them in all my years. Also...BRING CASH. If you're not familiar with the style, here's how it works: they will ask you what kind of sauce you want (spicy or non spice, sweet and sour, combination or curry), and what kind of rice you want or if you want noodles instead. They will give you the paper with your name and sauce/rice choice and you just put it on the tray. Take one or two (or more) bowls and then add whatever you want in it form the buffet and take it to the guy that will cook your food on a flat grill. The buffet: they have three types of meat: beef, Turkey and pork. You can mix and match and add as much as you want because you will pay by weight. They also have lots of veggies options like onions, zucchini, carrots, green onions, bens sprouts and others. The food is very good! I usually pick the B spicy sauce level 3 (you can choose from 1-10) and my husband likes the Q house sauce + E Curry together. Their fried rice is delicious! You can either eat there or take it home. No matter which one you choose, your food will come in a box already with plastic silverware or chppsJust a few cons: - they don't give you free water, they only have bottled water or soft drinks. - They add so much rice to your food that you can't eat everything. You don't get to choose how much rice it will come with and remember that you pay by weight and they weight your food after adding the rice so you'll usually get over a pound of rice which is about $7.50 per lb. Unless you choose the no rice option, then you pay more per lbs. I wish I could choose how much rice I want. I love their fried rice, just don't need a whole pound of it. Overall the food is very good! We go back there once in a while. I recommend the fried rice and the house sauce."
