"Food is stupendous Service was mehhhAmbiance was noisy and hard to hear and be heard, tables way too close to one another. The bill was eye bulging too. The food was very good though, albeit modest portions."
"Wow, just wow! This place was fantastic! As a ramen enthusiast, I had high expectations, and they were fully met. The broth was incredibly rich, warming me to the bone--perfect for the chilly day. The pork belly was outstanding, with a perfect crust and tender texture that absorbed the umami flavors of the broth beautifully. The edamame and house-made kimchi were fresh and delicious. The edamame came with a chili crunch that packed a punch, and the kimchi had a bold gochugaru flavor that was absolutely on point.I'm excited to come back and try the omakase menu; it looked phenomenal. I also recommend trying the house-made hot sauce--it was a great addition. The ambiance was super trendy, reminiscent of a spot you'd find in NYC, but fitting right into the vibe of Downtown Durham. The decor was thoughtfully designed, and it really enhanced the experience. Our server was sweet, guiding us through the menu and providing efficient, timely service. I'll definitely return to explore more of the menu next time we're in Durham!"

"We discovered Lucha Tigre thanks to Yelp. We enjoyed our meal here. I give this place 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Good food, for the most part, and great service. I'd come back. This is a casual, fun, Asian-Latin fusion restaurant and bar. Inside, the space is divided into two sides: bar and dining room. A big "LUCHA TIGRE" covers one of the bar walls and pop art decorates the main dining room wall. They also have a somewhat spacious, partially-covered patio. Overall, it's got a neat vibe.I booked our reservations on Lucha Tigre's website at https://luchatigre.com/ The reservation process was unconventional because instead of getting booked immediately, I had to wait for an email confirmation. On a Sunday, I got a "Pending Reservation Request" email at 2:16pm followed by a confirmation email at 2:52pm, so a 36-minute turnaround time. I got us a same-day reservation at 5pm, not a peak time as evidenced by the lack of customers upon our arrival. However, business had picked up by the time we left around 6:30.The menu had an interesting selection of food and drink. A few good examples of the Asian-Latin fusion served here include General Tso's Chicken Empanadas ($5 each), Pozole Ramen ($15.99), and Pad Thai Al Pastor ($16.99). They also serve straight-up Asian and Latin dishes like pho ($14.99) and tacos ($2 and $4 each). Drink-wise, they had a full bar with a decent selection that included tequila, mezcal, and sake cocktails. They even had a cocktail made with Japanese Suntory Whisky Toki. Here's what my wife and I had:Bebidas Especiales (cocktails)* El Conquistador ($14) - Tequila Herradura Silver, freshly-squeezed citrus, CointreauTapas* Tuna Tiradito ($16.99) - sashimi tuna with aji amarillo pepper, onions, cilantro, roasted corn nuts, and fresh citrus; Nikkei cuisine* Bulgogi Nachos ($15.99) - giant-size nachos with Korean BBQ beef, pico, kimchi, cheese, crema, jalapenos, black beansEntrees* Salmon Poke ($18.99) - raw salmon with sesame, onion, and tamari with seaweed salad, rice, and avocado* Pollo Saltado ($16.99) - stir-fried chicken, tomato, cilantro, onion; served over fries with rice and saladIn general, we were happy or content with everything. Some dishes were better than others. Beautiful presentation all around. The El Conquistador was a margarita that was more tart and less sweet. It was refreshing.I liked the Tuna Tiradito more than my wife. Tiradito is like Peruvian sashimi. I thought this dish was fine. I could see why my wife didn't like it as much because the texture of the tuna wasn't as fresh and appetizing as the tuna sashimi we're accustomed to. This tuna was a bit more "pasty" in texture. Also, the roasted corn nuts, which we think were the same as hominy, didn't add much. The standout dish was the Bulgogi Nachos. I saw pictures of it on Yelp and knew we had to order it. The portion size was huge and the Korean beef bulgogi was sweet and savory. We devoured the nachos. They were incredibly delicious and addictive. A lot of textures and flavors, and they all blended and worked well together. The Salmon Poke was solid. I recommend it if you like poke. Admittedly, it was better than we both expected because we haven't encountered a lot of great poke in the Chapel Hill-Durham area. Decent portions and fresh salmon, seaweed salad, and other ingredients. I will say the rice tasted plain and not seasoned with rice vinegar. The poke came with two sauces on the side, tamari (a type of Japanese soy sauce) and what I think was a type of curry sauce. The salmon was already nicely marinated and tasty so the sauces weren't needed. The Pollo Saltado was OK. It wasn't among the best I've had, but it was "authentic." The problems with this dish were the chicken was too dry and tough and the fries were underseasoned (not salty enough). Unfortunately, the salad was the best part of this dish. Our server Taryn was great. She was attentive and efficient. Everything we ordered came out fairly quickly. One detail I really liked and appreciated was Taryn neatly packed our leftovers and labeled and dated the boxes. That's an extra level of service you don't get at most other sit-down restaurants.Lucha Tigre opened in December 2012. It replaced the Chapel Hill location of The Original Flying Burrito: https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-original-flying-burrito-chapel-hill You can find it in the Midtown Market shopping plaza, north of UNC's campus. There's plenty of free dedicated parking.I didn't have a good cell signal here and used their guest Wi-Fi. Password was Beefbulgogi1."
"On a busy first Friday night in downtown Raleigh, we decided to have dinner at Mofu Shoppe! There was a 35-40 minute wait for a table for 2 (we didn't make a reservation), so we opted to sit at the last 2 seats at the bar! It took a little time for one of the awesome bar tenders to wait on us, but it's understandable for a super busy Friday night. It's a super cute vibe. There's even a little upstairs balcony looking seating area. I really liked the vibe here. The service was pretty good to top it off!My daughter had been here before and surprisingly it was my first time. Since she had decided to come here again, I let her order. She ordered us several shareable to share :)The Beef Bulgogi Dumplings were absolutely amazing. It came with an even more yummy kimchi bbq sauce for dipping. The Kimchi tots were amazing, such an amazing flavor profile. On to the Mofu Wings, they have a few flavors, we ordered the Thai Chili, soooo delicious. And lastly the Crispy Brussels w/ Fried Tofu. The Brussels were delicious. I was literally dancing in my seat the food was so good. If you know me, I hardly ever give 5's. I give glowing 4's, but 5's are rare. I'll be dreaming about this food until I go back next."
"Sam Jones BBQ is a highly rated barbecue restaurant in Raleigh and today I had the chance to learn why. They are dishing out delicious Eastern Carolina style wood fired whole hog barbecue right here in Raleigh. I've been craving the delicious vinegar tang flavor I grew up on as the daughter of a skilled pit master. I come from a family of men who know how to barbecue, so trust that when I recommend Sam Jones, it's with a sophisticated palette. I enjoyed everything we ordered via delivery. You'll find quality meats, large portions and flavorful dishes at Sam Jones. I decided on the turkey, pork chopped barbecue, Smoked Alabama white sauce wings, potato salad, barbecue beans, macaroni and cheese and moist sweet potato muffins. All of the barbecue meats were moist and flavorful. The turkey was sliced perfectly, the pork was delicious paired with both the vinegar based sauce and sweet sauce as well. The smoked wings with the Alabama White Sauce were a favorite for me. Alabama white BBQ sauce is a mayonnaise-based dressing that also includes horseradish and cayenne pepper. These wings were so moist, yet charred perfectly. The white sauce really packed the flavor for me. The sweet potato muffins were so delicious ! I'm glad I skipped out on the cornbread and went with the muffins. You can really taste the sweet potato and I love how soft, moist and fresh these were. I am extremely picky about side dishes. The Collard Greens were perfect here. Vinegar based and flavorful. I really enjoyed these. The potato salad, macaroni and cheese and baked beans were all perfect as well. Nothing was overly seasoned or under seasoned. I enjoyed everything. Sam Jones serves the perfect Sunday dinner. This is now one of my favorite restaurants in Raleigh."

My daughter and I decided on Asian for dinner tonight after attending an event in Durham earlier in the evening. We didn't have a reservation, and decided to sit at the bar so not to rush at a table that they needed in an hour and a half. Brie was awesome! She made my drink before I even blinked. We started with several bites, that came out staggered, which was perfect for timing. All of them were really good. The Pulled Beef Short Rib Wontons had a variety of flavor profiles and were excellent. The Pan-Seared Shrimp Wontons were excellent too. I wasn't the biggest fan of the Hand-Smashed Potatoes, but I did like them. The Glazed Pork Belly Buns were actually really good, I don't always like the bun. We ordered an entree, The Spicy Garlic Ramen Noodles. Very flavorful and spicy. Everything was very good and prepared perfectly. The service was great. The ambiance is cozy. Music playing, dimly lit, lots of tables and some booths, you can be dressy or casual.

There was a private party upstairs so this was the first time we've sat downstairs for dinner. We made a reservation before a DPAC show - love that they take reservations! Food was great! I think the highlight for the four of us was the KFC - Korean fried cauliflower! It was delicious! The boiled peanuts were also very tasty! The pickled veggies were good, but probably not something we'd order again. I had the vegetarian ramen, which is usually what I get here since all of the other ramens have meat/fish in them that are not my thing. The vegetarian one is good, but honestly there are ingredients in it that aren't my thing. I think next time I might try something new and get that KFC side instead of ramen for my main meal! The rest of our party all devoured their ramen dishes. It's fun to come here on a cold/rainy night - it just seems really cozy!

Ate here as a group of 4 friends-from-childhood now in our 60's. Good menu, lots of delicious healthy choices. We got chicken cheese quesadillas, spicy tofu bowl (Heat Seeker Tofu), and great local beers. Good service. We ate at 8 pm on a Thursday and they were out of several items we wanted to order. Fun and delicious, i would return.

Decent Asian option downtown. The menu is what initially drew me in for the uniqueness of some dishes. The inside is really nice, decor isn't the cheesy "asian inspired" randomness, but more of a nice modern touch of Asia. Started off with the Mofu Wings with the nuoc mam sauce - the chicken was fried nicely but the nuoc mam was too sweet opposed to the anticipated prevalence of fish sauce flavor. Also ordered the Minced Pork Stir Fry with the canton noodles - reminded me of a Dan Dan inspired dish but the meat was different, in a good way. The only gripe was it was too salty. Overall, service was good and was fun to see they were hosted what looked like a dinner club or something while we were dining there. Would come back and try other dishes.

Sam Jones serves up some really fire Carolina Style bbq! Their chopped roast pork is their signature and it shines! So different from other styles of bbq, I love the use of vinegar to give the rich pork some acid and sharpness. The dicing of the crispy skin into the meat provides fantastic textural contrast. The cornbread is also quite unique compared to other places. Trending on the less moist and more dry side, it does a great job soaking up the vinegar sauce without falling apart. The people working here are very hospitable and I love the ambiance and vibes this place gives off. If you are on the bbq trail and you want some excellent Carolina Style bbq, put this place on your list :)

Cute (but small) cocktails and vibes. No one here is mean but also no one is overly nice. Okay spot, cute for photos.

We ate here recently and had a wonderful experience. We inadvertently booked seats at the bar and the host was nice enough to offer to seat us outside on a gorgeous night. The traffic was a little noisy, but you can't beat a beautiful downtown Durham evening. We had wonderful drinks...I highly recommend the Carolina Tonic. The Charcuterie Board was delicious, as was the Peruvian-Style Fish, the Plato Cubano, and the Caribbean Roasted Chicken. We ended the night with the Tres Chocolates cake and it was divine. The service was lovely and I would eat here again anytime.

Cool rooftop bar. This spot was recommended by another spot we were at tonight in N Hills. Our Bartender Brianna was off the chain friendly and took great care of my brother and I. The roof top view of the area is fabulous. They have an outside area with fire pits. The vibe is super chill. Would make a great date night intimate bar experience.

"Cute spot, club vibes, lots of photo opportunities. Stopped in here on a Wednesday night. Place was quiet, but I could see this place packed on a Friday or weekend night. Cluby music playing. We were greeted at the door and quickly sat. We got a few drinks and appetizers to start with. The shrimp and chicken skewers are on point. Great flavor, the Chipotle sauce was delicious, and the roasted veggies were perfection. We also got the Peruvian chicken and the chicken sandwich. The chicken sandwich wasn't my fav. Nothing wrong with it, just not my flavor. The Peruvian chicken had great flavor and you got a good serving size. They have new management, new owners and a new chef so if you haven't been in a while it might be time to stop in again."
"Good things about this place:1 - beautiful restaurant and ambiance2 - unique menu and dishes with lots of variety 3 - not too loud, you can have conversations4 - some excellent appetizers - duck was deliciousNeed for improvement things1 - service is pretty slow, especially the bar service2 - my Caribbean chicken entree was a bit dried out but the flavor was good3 - the steak wasn't cooked right so we had it sent it back, though it was good. It tasted like it was marinated in vinegar/ chimmichuri and I hope that's not because the meat went bad 4 - wait staff didn't check on us 5 - one of our entrees was delivered 10 minutes after all the others 6 - it's pretty expensive for what it is"
"I dropped in before my afternoon brunch and after when a group of guys my friend I met at Stir welcomed us back. Tonya was the bartender smiling at the door and greeting us as we entered (both times). It wasn't busy during our first visit before 1pm. When we came back over after - 3:30pm, there were so many people who, I believe, flowed over from brunch. The beautiful AKAs were celebrating founders day. I loved seeing the authentic unity, friendship, and welcome from such an amazing Sisterhood. Level 7 is a great space to connect with other professionals. I enjoyed myself. It was great to experience exceptional customer service. Tonya warned me because the menu was changing, everything wasn't available. She did a great job recreating what I needed for my preference. I wanted to Level 75 but settled for the usual French 75. It was perfect!"
"I'm 100% a fan! Little Bull is a relatively new restaurant that opened in the Raleigh / Durham area of North Carolina in June 2023. From an Eater article, Little Bull's concept combines Asian and Mexican cuisines with a nod towards American comfort food. According to their website, they are focused on nostalgic comfort food inspired by first generation immigrant kids. My friend and I were in the area for the weekend and made reservations here for dinner. We made reservations ahead of time on OpenTable.Between the 2 of us, we ordered several dishes:- Ceviche Negro - snapper & squid ink (seafood was really fresh!) - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=M9jIbDtOE5G9zUkX3zLonA&userid=NvUeb5G_mSSxgKhEE_Hueg- Gambas a la Plancha - shrimp & salsa piquin (tasted more Asian to me!) - https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=YUWlCXvHxMI6M8BfFiMVhg&userid=NvUeb5G_mSSxgKhEE_Hueg- Tongue & Cheek - bone marrow, beef cheek barbacoa (MY FAVORITE! Service was impeccable. Ambiance was intimate. I was definitely happy with their creative menu and their fusions. It was a great experience to start a weekend trip!ENJOY!!"
"Sooooo good! The Chicken Souvlaki was some of the best chicken I've ever - the flavor and spices were just so delicious. Loved the tzatziki sauce. The naan that came with it was also great. The dark chocolate mousse was so rich and creamy and I loved the peanut butter topping! We had no problem getting a table on a Monday night, but it does seem like a spot that many people make reservations for. There was plenty of free parking around the back of the building and there's also street parking."
