"Consistency is absolute when it comes to a burger joint. Al's delivers that in spades, and occasionally shakes it up with some new featured burgers and handhelds. The fries are always fresh, and the sprinkling of rosemary really livens them up! Pair it with one of their signature dipping sauces (my favorite is the spicy ranch), or just keep it simple with a handful of ketchup packets on request. I've had most of the burgers here and honestly haven't been disappointed in any of them, though my go-to is the Bobo chili cheeseburger... Carolina Style! The service crew is always on point and moving things quickly, so you're almost guaranteed to get your order in 10-15 minutes or less. Fresh, hot, and bursting with flavor!"
"Buns is a great place to go for a casual meal. The prices are reasonable and the food is good quality. I'm not a fan of homecut fries, but they paired well with the chili and cheese. The hotdog was also good, but it fell apart a bit easily, so it was a bit messy to eat. Overall, the customer service was fantastic. I look forward to trying the burgers soon."

"I can't believe somebody gave this not a great rating because they had a large group. Everything is made to order so of course there's going to be a wait. We absolutely love this place. The people, the food the ambience. Best double smashed, mini burger, grilled onions, etc. absolutely amazing. this place is the real deal."
"The hot dogs are amazing Hey make your order when you place it. Staff is super friendly. I like the atmosphere of this place it's epic eclectic and pretty rad. Been here before and I'll come back and eat here again next time Im in chapel hill for work at UNC."
"The Roast Grill was opened in Downtown Raleigh in 1940 by Mary Charles. Today it is operated by Mary's grandson George Poniros and his wife Kathy. It is a small hole in the wall place with 10 bar stools and two two top tables. The cooler is on the other side of the bar stools so it is a small and narrow space. The walls have photos of hot dog eating winners; nostalgia and there are Coke collectibles. Kathy says George has collections everywhere. The menu is simple with hot dogs; soda in bottles; desserts and potato chips were added to the menu recently. The dogs are cooked on the original grill be George and can be topped with slaw; chili; mustard or onions or any combination of those choices. They don't offer ketchup. The restaurant is cash only and the prices include taxes. Tootsie rolls are given with orders too.I'm not a hot dog fan so I just had baklava here made by Kathy. It was a real treat that I'd love more of. I also had a bottle of Coke in a glass. It was a fun experience."
"We saw this as we were driving by and decided to turn around and check it out.We pulled into the small parking area which is shared with another business which we also checked out. My wife and I were not hungry because we had just eaten but after quickly looking at their ratings on Yelp and Google we knew we had to stop. Since we have moved to North Carolina, my wife has discovered that she loves hush puppies and this gave her another opportunity to try them. They have a menu board on the front and you order through a window, then wait for your number to be called. There is also signage stating there is indoor seating but we did not go inside since we were just grabbing a light snack. As we checked out the menu, others were waiting for their orders and picking up. You know when they have on their menu board "Bulk Orders To Go" it must be good. They sell their BBQ by the pound and the coleslaw, potato salad, Brunswick stew, baked beans, collard greens, and mac and cheese by as much as a gallon. We decided to just try the hush puppies and a side of the mac and cheese. The place looks like it has been here for many years and is a staple in the community. We also were impressed to see their recent health score of 99.My wife enjoyed the hush puppies and although the mac and cheese was creamy I did think the noodles themselves were overcooked.Would we recommend stopping - absolutely!"
"Wish I could give them gem 10+ Stars!!! The family and I tried a new business in Burlington. Apparently this is a 96+ year business that has been established in the city for almost a year. They took over the old Steak and Shake. It's s cute 70s style vibe. We were seated immediately....not a huge crowd ! The menu has an array of items to choose from. ** They have the ol school Ne High Grape in a glass bottle!! **Food came out pretty fast - it wasn't an extended wait but just right. My entire family devoured our food and left nothing but cheese sauce on the plates. The hotdogs topped with chili/ cheese/ coleslaw was amazing!! Fries = came with chili and cheese. Amazing!! Kiddos got strawberry milkshakes which they loved!!My husband regretted getting the hotdog and chicken wing combo. He said the wings were good but he wanted another hotdog. Cash Discount if paying by Cash!! We will return!! This is a newer location ....the original location is located downtown Burlington, NC."
"Wow. I sit here satiated, grateful for crispy tots and conscientious staff. I placed a takeout order online requesting a GF bun, american cheese, and *extra crispy* tots. When I arrived, I saw that employees marked my ticket for a clarification. Evidently the American cheese they stock is *NOT* Gluten-free. They made sure I knew before leaving, which I really appreciated.I'm not celiac, so I can't speak to whether or not they have a designated GF frier etc. However I can say that they were thoughtful and aware of gluten-containing items without provocation. YAY! It's always a relief to advocate for your needs just a hair less out of necessity. And the tots? EXTRA CRISPY!!! Dream. Come. True! Thanks y'all!"
"Good place to grab a good affordable breakfast or lunch. They are only open until about 2 PM so they only offer breakfast and lunch, but I believe the entire menu is served all day. I moved to Clayton about 2.5 years ago from Raleigh, but my friend used to work in Clayton and told me about Jones and took me there once and I really enjoyed it.I've only been for breakfast and I loved it. I love a good simple country breakfast for a good price and with good portions. Although I love all foods, nothing beats simple eggs, bacon, toast, and potatoes. There's plenty of parking all around available on the street in lots nearby. When you enter the restaurant you seat yourself and a server will come to you. I've always been greeted quickly. The menu is simple, but good. I usually get eggs, bacon/sausage, toast, and home fries. There's a lot of food and it's cooked perfectly. They are probably best known for their hot dogs and I must say they are very, very good. I'm not even a big fan of hot dogs and I enjoyed it. You can also order for takeout, but you'll need to come in to pick up your food. Definitely worth a try if you're in town and want some small good ole country cooking."
"All I'm going to say is BEER ONIONS! Those beer onions are the only reason Archway gets five stars from me. Those onions are everything. I wish I could take them with me to Robertson's, my fave burger spot in town. If you come to Archways, you must get the beer onions on your burger. I had the double bacon. I only ate half. The other half I warmed in the oven and it still tasted great."
"Sean's Shack was my dining choice after a rock cracked my windshield on my way to Note in the Pocket. I had never been there before but remember hearing rave reviews and I was looking for good food. You have a choice of drive thru; dine in or ordering to go at the counter. I opted for to go as I wanted to get started on my insurance claim. But next time I will want to dine in as I liked the decor and vibe.I was immediately welcomed when I entered and asked if I wanted dine in or to go. They are locally owned so that is a plus. The menu has a variety of items. There is breakfast foods until 2pm or they have burgers; hot dogs; chicken and salads. The burgers start at $3.50 and you can make it a combo. I got a double; fries and upgraded to a milkshake and my total was much less than a fast food place. The food is so so much better than fast food. There is no comparison. When my order was ready, it was brought out to me and not just handed over the counter and got a suggestion where I could get my windshield repaired. The service here is top notch.I will be back to try one of the specialty burgers."

What a fantastic establishment! Would highly recommend. We were in Chapel Hill for a short visit and found this place on Yelp. This cute shack has a variety of burgers on potato buns. The burgers are just the right size, moist, and flavorful. We tried the tater tots and sweet potato fries which were both great. There's very limited indoor seating, but they do have have plenty of outdoor seating, some of which is covered up with heating. The prices are very very reasonable, and the staff are very friendly. There is one large restroom which was clean and well kept. I would definitely go back and recommend this place to visitors!

Happened to stumble across this place and great location near Franklin St. Order two burgers and a kids hot dog. The burgers weren't overly huge but packed with flavor! The hot dog was also a good size and quite tasty. Good amount of seating and an overall really good experience! If on campus and looking for some tasty burgers, add Buns to the list.

Stop in to try this place out. We had cheeseburgers and fries. The food was really good. Service was great. The owner and the staff are very friendly. The place has an old school diner vibe. I'll go back next time to try out the Chicago Dog.

Family of 6 ate for $84.00 before tip. The Jalapeño Tot Appetizer is a must. (Peppers are raw / fresh so very low heat) all the cheese and crunchiness of the tots is perfect. The dogs are spot on - chili and spiced right. My biggest love is the sauce for the fries - Oh my word! Smoky and tangy - all at the table said they wanted a bottle to take home! Portions descent. Better than expected meal.

Best hot roasted wiener in Raleigh, N.C. since 1940.George Poniros cooks and serves you with his masterful style and hilarious banter as he has been doing it this way for over 30 years. This iconic tiny little restaurant often has a line out the door so it is good to arrive early to enjoy these delicious roasted weiners.Order your weiner any way you want with mustard, chili, onions, coleslaw, but beware that you don't ever ask for the cardinal sin of ketchup.Icy cold Coca-Cola in old school little green bottles is the best way to hydrate or you have a choice of beers.Highly recommend that you visit here often.

This barbecue was recommended to us by a barber from carborro and it did not disappoint..... They had fabulous classic Carolina pulled pork with their famous vinegar sauce. we also enjoyed Cole slaw, fried okra, fried dill, pickles, coleslaw and new Brunswick stew. My son had the fried catfish which was also delicious. He also really enjoyed his tater tot side . They served two really big pieces of fish with each meal.. all the meals came with tasty hush puppies.Service was good and quick .Ambience was fairly typical of Carolina barbecue places.

There are 2 restaurants in Burlington that I've eaten at since the mid 60's - Zack's and Hursey's, several miles away. While Hursey's is still operated by the original family, this restaurant was sold in 2022, ending 94 years of same family operation.Since that time, there has been some corporate turmoil - three additional locations were opened, two of which have been closed. In addition, the original location and the Garden Road spot are now franchise operations, run by 2 different individuals! There have been some changes to the original format - breakfast is no longer offered, there have been some menu changes (for example: a chicken sandwich is now available), the wiener is now of better quality ( there is a bit of snap in the casing), the delicious french fries have been replaced by the atrocious crinkle cuts, color has been added to the logo, and a hot dog costs $4.05 now (a dog was $2.95 a year ago!), credit cards are accepted, but you will be charged a fee! What has not changed is that this is still a very good dog, with a great chili, excellent house hot sauce, nesting in a super soft bun, and the 6 ounce Coke in a bottle remains. Also, there is a different feel about this spot now - less energy, less of a family feel - I miss that!

"A local landmark. Still serves awesome snappy "red hots". Service is prompt and courteous. Has pool tables and pinball machines in the back to complete that vintage eatery vibe."
"Stumbled upon Steve's place as I was waiting for Hobby Lobby to open and I am so glad I did! I was craving a breakfast sandwich but still being new to the area I wasn't sure what was around that may fit the bill. It looks like they are primarily known for their hotdogs but their breakfast sandwich was quite delicious. When you walk in you go to the left and fill out the slip for what you want to order, being the slip up to the register and then they will cook it right up for you! I haven't seen too often the option to add a hashbrown to a BEC but it was a solid choice! Now that I know they have good food I can't wait to try the hotdogs that they are known for!"
"I moved to North Carolina in 2003. In the 17 years I have been here, I can honestly say I have not met a single person who sings the praises of Fayetteville. The consensus seems to be: it is hot, not pretty in most places, and the only people who live there are either associated with the military or have not managed to get out yet.Fayetteville does indeed get hot: they hold the record for highest temperature ever recorded in NC--110 degrees Fahrenheit on August 21, 1983. And as far as pretty is concerned, I'm sure there are some pretty spots, but I did not see many--lots of poverty and run down businesses. And Fort Bragg does seem to be the centerpiece for this area. But one good thing they have going for them is Hot Diggidy Dog.I made the trip to Fayetteville to continue my quest to visit all 30 of Our State Magazine's hot dog recommendations. And this was a good one.I ordered one all the way, one of their famous bacon wrapped hot dog "blt", fries, and a drink (to make it a "combo"). The hot dogs were very good. The wiener appeared to have been pan fried and had a good flavor. The slaw was tasty and the chili was excellent. The bacon around the bacon wrapped one was thin and crispy and good, but the flavor was largely lost. Overall both dogs were enjoyable. The fries were pedestrian. This place is reasonably cute and cozy but a little dark inside. They are very patriotic, with a U.S. flag flying outside and a giant one hung on the wall inside. My biggest gripe is the cost of adding fries and a drink to the order--$3.70. That is high by at least $2 in my book. I was shocked. It was highway robbery. It was almost enough to consider making this a 3 star review, but I won't because the dogs were worth 4 stars. So if you find yourself in Fayetteville, this is a place worth checking out if you love hot dogs.Just don't make your meal a combo."
"Wow, I haven't been to CowBar in a while since I'm not a huge fan of crazy food halls but their new location up at North Hills is top-notch! Located in the newer section of North Hills, CowBar is a more sophisticated rendition of their Morgan Street Food Hall location. Very similar with maybe a few extras, you order up front, get a number, self-service soft drinks and condiments in the back and wait for you eats. Pick up your meal at the counter and it's time to eat!I did their popular truffle burger with fries Italiano and OMG! The burger was amazingly tender, rich and delicious. Tender grilled beef, smoky Gouda cheese, caramelized onions and truffle flavoring throughout. The skin-on fries with shaved parm, rosemary and garlic made for the perfect side. While the bar is not open yet, it looks like CowBar North Hills will have some beers and drinks to go with your burger.Overall I am super happy with what I experienced at CowBar. While the food is a touch pricey, it's totally worth the money and a better option to dine here, versus a crowded, noisy spot. Enjoy, Raleigh. You may have the best burger in the Triangle with CowBar!"
"We frequently Google "best ____" (food item). Then we take a road trip and rate the food on a 1-10 scale. This took us to Durham Sunday for hotdogs. We went to Jimmy's Famous Hotdogs on Hwy 55. We ordered the Nathan's hotdog all the way =9, chicken wings =6, onion rings =10, crinkle fries =5 and fried catfish =15! We like to sample a lot when we go somewhere new and out of the way. They have FANTASTIC catfish! How weird is that? We only ate one filet and brought the rest home for catfish Po Boys. I make a mean tarter sauce. We got it to go then ate off the tailgate in a shopping center because it was nice and sunny. We were nearly attacked by a flock of seagulls. SEAGULLS!! Luckily some woman started feeding them McDonalds fries so they left us alone. Anyway, it was a nice drive and good food. If you go, don't be discouraged by 3 stars because people complained about the wait. What they don't tell you is they fix it fresh so the delay is worth it. Health rating is 96. Since we were fighting of birds, I only took a picture of the catfish at home.UPDATE FOR ONION RINGS: I should've described them. They seemed to have both beer batter and just enough Panko to add more crunch. I don't like Panko only because they hurt the roof of my mouth. I think you would get onion in every bite but I fold and cram it in, in one mouthful."
"Food here was excellent!!PSA --- I would steer clear if no mask enforcement is something you are not okay with. The wait staff was so friendly and happy to serve us for brunch. The selections were plentiful and the prices are extremely affordable so you can try a little bit of everything. I'm a chicken wing lover and they have their recipe down to a T!!Highly recommend for diners on a budget that appreciate good home cooking! Oh, and per our server they are serving beer and wine now. We do hope to revisit the next time we are strolling in downtown Wilson. :)"
"Jimmy's been around for Years Folks!!! The locals know where to go for some good Hotdogs/Burgers!!! Yes I do love those chili dogs and onion rings!! Now for that price better get several and take home for the family on Mondays and Thursdays!!!"
"This review is a repeat of what I posted on our local foodie Facebook page, don't judge me.Went to Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ- Fayetteville, NC today around 3 today. Got a chili dog and the BBQ taco variety plate (I don't remember what it was called) to go.I waited an hour to eat the chili dog. It was a good solid chili dog, the dog itself was delicious, the chili and bread was ok, but that's probably b/c I let it get cold.Fast forward to about 30 minutes ago when I got to eat these tacos sent from God himself. I didn't get to heat them up... but the meat was that of a grass fed unicorn fawn, that was fathered by a mysterious hybrid chicken-cow-pig. That baby had to have only drank butter, bathed in BBQ sauce, and slept in a spice rack it's few years of life. The fresh diced jalapeños were a delightful surprise and whatever the sauce was (I'm guessing a siracha sour cream of some kind) had to be made from the milk of that baby unicorns mom. 12 outta 10, going to go back and learn the name of this dish by ordering it at least 10 more times and test out that beer wall."
"**FAVORITE BURGER IN RALEIGH**My all-time favorite burger in Raleigh!PARKING========Small lot, but should be an available space before 11:30AM.VIBE====Small, friendly atmosphere, mostly take-out. Can seat up to 11 persons at the counter. Great prices, homemade fresh foods.BURGER========DOUBLE PATTY ALL THE WAY CHEESEBURGERComes with mustard, ketchup, slaw, jalapeños, etc.Greasy but absolutely delicious. The soft buns are money.RATING: 5/5OVERALL=======Haven't tried anything else, but their cheeseburgers. They have daily specials and on Tuesday's, it's cheeseburgers. Say hello to our dude, Dominic!HIGHLY RECOMMEND."
"Unassuming hot dog joint tucked inside an old shopping strip mall. Once inside, you will be greeted by super friendly staff or the owner Dee. The hot dogs are deliciously grilled and he uses Martins Potato Rolls!! Variety of hot dog choices. All great. Fun atmosphere!"
"This place has been around forever, it seems, started by the Skidmore Family back in the 50's, I guess. Nothing fancy here, just a Hot Dog/Hamburger joint with a few plates, a variety of sandwiches, salads, and even Spaghetti. The interior is worn and tired looking, but the place is clean.I'd stick to the sandwiches - they are generally good, generally a nice value. The Cheeseburger ($2.20) is a very good cafe style burger, meaning it is smaller than some burger. The taste of the one here is nice. The Hot Dog is really, really good here, and a real bargin at $1.69. This is a classic Southern Chili Dog, with a red weiner, great tasting chili, and a gooey bun. The Chopped BBQ Sandwich ($3.50) is nice, though definitely not cooked in house. It probably is Hursey BBQ's commercial product - ironic, since Hursey's Restaurant is right across th street, literally. The Fish Sandwich ($2.99) is not a memorable taste of the ocean, and I'd pass. Most of their sandwches are offered in a basket, which simply adds FFs. I'd pass on those as well, they are pretty bad. The single Hot Dog Basket goes for $2.69, which means you're paying a $1 for some really bad fries. The Grilled Cheese ($1.95) is good, but then again, it is hard to screw that sandwich up.We'll stop in again."
"My family and I had the opportunity to Grab CRAVE to go and it was great. We took of advantage of their $2 hot dogs + 2 free toppings and it came with a chips and a drink! We ordered one plain, one with ketchup and one with chili + Cole slaw and we thought it was delicious! The staff is very nice and welcomed us into the store! The restaurant was clean and the drinks were fresh! I love that the restaurants has multiple TVs which would be perfect for sports games. For parking the parking lot can fill up quickly but there is a parking deck connected to the shopping center that you can us! We look forward to going back because we heard that the hot sausage is delicious. Overall solid restaurant in a great location"
"Love this place!!! A huge selection of sodas. Great burgers and dipping sauces and yummy shakes! Definitely will be back. A nice addition to Sanford area!"
"Two ate lunch for $19. So this is a one off, not a chain place. Inside is renovated and clean. My grilled chicken salad was huge, lots of meat and flavorful. My co-worker said his bacon double cheeseburger was one of the best he'd ever had, said very juicy and freshly prepared. Girl who took our order was nice and sweet."
"I'd not been to a Char Grill before so after my shopping trip to Harris Teeter it seemed like a good day to stop. I went to the drive thru which looking back might not have been the best idea as I wasn't familiar with the menu but thankfully the menu was small and I could order quickly. I went with the double and made a combo. I customized it to have tomatoes and lettuce with the cheese. They were generous with the toppings but the tomato slices weren't ripe so that is my only disappointment here. The burger was delicious and the fries were some of the best I ever had. Somehow those fries stayed hot the whole drive home too. The prices are more expensive than other places but when you are looking for something a little better than typical fast food this is your place. The service was very friendly and my order was prepared as ordered. The sanitation score was high too so that is important to me."
"The owner was the only employee working and she was very kind. Offered us our individually wrapped samples and at 16 calories a crunchy large disk, we were sold. Zero points for one my fellows Weight Watchers or three for one point! We brought home the variety pack and while they are a bit pricey for rice cakes, they are much better (fresher, lighter, less like cardboard) than what you'd buy in the store. I'd be happy to make additional purchases when at the NC farmers market. She is located in the permanent building with other local Got to Be NC vendors."
"This is your mom and pop place of Roxboro. Plenty of parking, drive thru, short menu items. We ate lunch here. Most of the items are processed food, like frozen burgers, stuff that comes out if a can. Plenty of seating inside, tables dirty thou. It's was ok but probably want be back. I got the Madison burger added cheese, extra cost, added a combo. The burger was paper thin, not much flavor. Hubby got a chili dog which he said was delicious. He also got the bbq platter with hush puppies, fries, cabbage. He said that the hush puppies tasted old from like leftovers from last night. He said his plate wasn't really that good. We probably want be back, we tried this place on a whim and hoping they had home cooked food. Very disappointed."
"Great service, yummy food, exceptional prices for this Alaska boy. $5 for two dogs and a fries? Friendly table service on top of it. Bringing and cheerful interior."
"The hot dogs are some of the best around. They have all kinds of toppings that are free. The dogs are a great price for a high quality dog! If you get a chance stop by one of their locations and try one out."
"This is a tiny, inexpensive, walkup, takeout only place, that serves breakfast sandwiches and biscuits, and lunch burgers, dogs, and other sandwiches. Their regular cheeseburger is $1.95, and the hot dog is $.95. A sausage biscuit is $1,20, small order of fries $.80.The burgers are nice, and you can get bigger sizes, doubles, etc just like most places. The hot dog here is not a favorite, I simply do not like the chili - thin, on the sweet side - I much prefer the dog at Scoops up the street, on the other side of Wicker. Not a bad place for a quick, inexpensive burger or sandwich."
