The naan looks and tastes like pita bought in a supermarket. More suitable for falafel.

This place is delicious. Lunch specials are well priced and the atmosphere feels as one would expect from a family-run business.

Amazing small mom and pop shop. Don't expect fancy Indian restaurant vibe. For those who know the taste of home cooked food will like this place to be clear and honest. They have been running this place and cooking all the food themselves for 33 years in downtown Miami. Food is not very spicy and their mango lassis is the best authentic taste made from fresh mango and not pulp, give this place a chance only to taste really simple homemade food from India: the couple were very nice Uncle and Aunty to talk to and shared their whole story which is interesting to know in that small cosy place:

tony hole in the wall, ma n pa Indian. The smell leered me in as I was passing by, and I am a sucker for Indian food. The food is laid out buffet style - so you can see the food before buying, which is always Nice. I had a lamb curry, with lemon rice and a side vegetable order of Aubergine. The flavours were mild and delicate and gave me the impression of home cooked food, rather than a restaurant establishment. I also ordered a garlic nan, which I did not enjoy. It was too think and the garlic was garlic salt, and had too much on it.

I was surprised to read some of the reviews claiming bigoted behavior by the owners. This has not been my experience.I have been coming to Raja's for over ten years, mostly for a quick lunch when I am around downtown Miami. This is a small restaurant that perhaps seats a couple dozen people in a very narrow, non-air conditioned dining room. It is simple, but very clean. You order at the counter. There are several hot dishes on display, and you can also order Southern Indian specialties or bread, which take some time to make.I usually order the veggie combo, with rice and two vegetarian dishes. It is very inexpensive and excellent value. I enjoy it, but I heard from my South Asian colleagues at work that taste wise the dishes are average. In my non-expert eyes they are quite good, though, and the price is unbeatable. This restaurant is run by a couple and their adult son. The lady cooks, whereas father and son tend to the front of the house. Service had always been impersonal, which I really don't mind, but it has improved greatly in the past few months, which just made a good restaurant all the better. In summary, a great neighborhood restaurant with very good prices that perhaps has a few execution flaws, but is an excellent choice nonetheless.

This is really a hole in a wall place. You can't even see the inside well. But I am so glad that I decided to try it.Inside is very small and nothing fancy. You can see the food they have and they all looked so good. Some I had to ask what they were and they even let you try it.I decided to try lamb curry, chana masala, and pilaf. Some of my friends ordered fish and some had chicken. But none of us were complaining. It seems everyone was quiet and enjoying the food. I loved every bit of my plate. They gave me a lot but I couldn't stop eating! I am not sure if this couple who were there were owner but they were very friendly and helpful. Oh, and the prices are very reasonable. If you are in downtown Miami and you want something different or something a bit spicy, this is the place.I hope to go back to try some more dishes.

Small, no frills family owned place. Food was great! Food is separated into vegetarian or not vegetarian which was helpful for me.

The quality of the food leaves much to be desired, the place is not very clean and the prices are relatively high for its location amidst closed downtown stores. My vegetarian plate was not very tasty and their naan tastes like supermarket pitas bread. The owner admitted the bread is bought from a store and suggested that we put butter on it to make it tastier. I would stay clear of this place and seek options elsewhere.

Amazingly authentic Indian food. It tastes like your mom spent all day making everything you like. It's criminal this place doesn't have 5 stars.
