Fried fish good. Mash potatoes please lose the garlic cloves too too much!Pork chops thin and marinate could be different , Cajun butter creole turkey basting not right for these, seems injection marinade and vinegary. Fries good , cream gravy good, salad bar excellent and clean n neat...all restaurant is clean and well decorated very patriotic, love it. The hostess and order takers so nice. The Mac and cheese hit and a miss more cheese helps in this case and not so over cooked pasta. Service always good. Buffet well hot and was clean and stocked. Desert cobbler was fantastic love the peach. Price of buffet is high for this unincorperated area. Specials are evolving and folksy charm carries this establishment at the end of the day. This is just an overall first written opinion of about 6 visits.

Decided to try this place out after going to Hungry Jack's and they had a 1 1/2 hour wait. Looked up breakfast places close by and this place popped up with good reviews. So here's my honest review........ I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy, soft scrambled and grits. My eggs were not soft scrambled and not only were my biscuits and sausage gravy cold but there wasn't really much sausage in my gravy. I wouldn't mind the lack of sausage in the gravy if the plate came with meat but it doesn't. While $13 is not outrageous I think at that price the restaurant should either add a lot more sausage to the gravy or include a meat choice. Other than that the food had good flavor and I will say my husband and father in law enjoyed their steak and eggs. So over all I'm hoping this was just a one off and next time I give it a try it will be a 5 star review.

Everything's sucks. The food, the service, it's all terrible. Over priced frozen food.

I have got to brag on Rachel's Diner! This was our first time to eat there and they were so accommodating. We planned our post funeral meal for our family there with about 30 people. The food was fantastic. I don't even like meatloaf and it was SO GOOD! Wonderful service as well. The ease of having it there in a semiprivate section that they reserved was exactly what we needed. Everyone could partake in the buffet and get exactly what they liked. We ordered food for kiddos off the kids menu and let me tell ya, I was impressed. The chicken strips were actually battered slices of chicken breast rather than over cooked, frozen chicken tenders like other local places have. Also, the fries were ! So good! If you are looking for a place to host a large group of people, this is the perfect place! We will definitely be back and I really hope that Crosby rally's behind our local places and supports them.

The food is good, service is good friendly staff, clean lines love the chicken fried steak. The potatoes are homemade as well as the gravy

Terrible food, long wait times and an idiot management who will basically tell you they don't give a f.... Save the headache and go somewhere else

Their breakfast is awesome and well worth the money. Service is great. Very spacious business.

I love Rachel's Diner! There are SOO many good options. For starters, you can order the buffet or off the menu. Personally, I love the buffet. They have an excellent salad on the buffet with many items that you won't find in other restaurants, like strawberries, beets (they're actually very good!), hard boiled eggs; and they have the typical items that I like too, like cucumbers, mushrooms, carrots, tomatoes, etc. What I really like about it is that you can eat healthy, if you want to. If you don't want to eat healthy, they can accommodate you there too! The waitresses and hostesses are very nice and friendly. We desperately needed a good restaurant in Crosby. There are 173 burger joints and other fast food places and very few real restaurants. Then, for the main meal, they have different selections every day, which is nice because it's not the same thing over and over every day. Mon - Southern Food - Chicken fried chicken (delicious!), chicken fried steak, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, cabbage. Green beans, etc. Tue - Italian Food - My favorite! Lasagna (Delicious!), Chicken Marsala (delicious!), meatballs, spaghetti, tomato sauce, alfredo sauce, garlic bread, etc. I don't know any restaurant in Houston or surrounding that has Italian on the buffetWed - Meat Loaf - Salisbury steak, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc.Thu - Smothered Pork, Chicken fried chicken (delicious!), chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, mixed veggies, sweet corn, etcFri - Fried Fish - Blackened Grilled Fish, Chicken Fried steak, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, fried okra, sweet corn, etcSat - Turkey Pot Pie - chicken fried steak, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, cabbage. Green beans, mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, etc.Sun - Beef roast - chicken fried steak, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, fried okra, sweet corn, etcEvery day - dinner rolls and corn bread Desserts - they have the BEST ice cream from the machine and either apple crumble or cobbler which is also very good I also enjoy the decor, they apparently appreciate our military and first responders as much as I do! You get a good old-fashioned vibe. If you decide to go, make sure you're hungry! Bring the wheel barrow! Just FYI, they have been changing up the menu a bit so it may be different
